Good for all occasions
Reminds me of Paris
Good daily specials
From the moment we entered we remarked how cute the place is. Service was impeccable (example: we were deep in conversation and hadn’t looked at our menu, rather than interrupt us the waiter “read” the table well and waited until an obvious pause in discussion occurred) Food was very good as well. Highly recommend
A favorite of ours for years. Great bistro food. Friendly reception, varied wine selection.
We stumbled on my Ma Maison in between Dr. appointments becuse it was within walking distance adn wanted to have an early lunch. I have a business on a French island and adore everything French. Ma Maison was authentic, right down to our server's French accent! I loved their Omelette with spinach and goat cheese and my husband really enjoyed the sole. I have recommended it to my sons as a place where we could enjoy a post graduation meal, so I hope to be back in May.
Lovely experience. Felt like I was back in a bistro in Paris. The halibut is truly amazing with sensational authentic lemon buerre blanc sauce with sautéed spinach on top of the fish that tasted better than any spinach I ever had!
Chocolate soufflé was a fun way to end the meal. Highly recommend for a date night or evening out with another couple.
I really loved this place. All of the food was perfectly cooked and delicious, and it was an intimate atmosphere that was great for romantic occasions. The food was amazing. Such a good time!
My husband and I had a great time last night and the food was very good. Our only slight issue was timing, it seemed to take a long time between our appetizer and our entrees and there were people who were seated after us who received their food first. Other than that, our waiter was kind, the ambiance was cozy and warm, and our food as awesome. I started with the pate and my husband ordered the shrimp and avocado salad that was a special. For entrees, I ordered the short rib bourguignon and my husband ordered the steak with peppercorn sauce - both very good! The short rib was so tender and the sauce was rich and made the dish. My husbands steak was cooked perfectly and the peppercorn sauce was a great complement. For dessert, I ordered the hazelnut creme brûlée which was very good and my husband ordered the baked Alaska (first time trying this for both of us) which was also very good but a little difficult to eat because the ice cream in the middle was very hard to cut through, however, the meringue was delicious! All in all, cute little place and as long as you don’t mind being in an intimate setting with other diners right next to you, then this is an overall great restaurant.
Was a great special occasion restaurant. I was surprised with the fixed menu, but I should have read up on that. $70 seemed a bit much for 3 courses.
Very French! Try escargo if you love garlic.
Pleasant atmosphere for conversation. Ambience is similar to that at Petit Robert Bistro.
This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant! Have never been disappointed with the food , service or charm!
Ma Maison is, hands down, the best restaurant I've ever been to. Every time I go I am delighted! It has excellent French food and a lovely ambiance.
First time to be here for my husband’s birthday! Food is so delicious. We feel so full after main course so we gave up dessert. Surprised by unexpected dessert from the waitress—chocolate mousse! Of course very delicious! Worth to come back next time!
Ma Maison is one of the most authentic French restaurants in Boston. The hostess is very pleasant, and the wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was comfortably warm on a cold night. The food is very delicious with many healthy options. Their Cassoulet topped with Duck Confit was the best I have ever had, and their pate is always very delicious. I love their Kir Royale cocktail, and their wine selections are very good and reasonably priced. It is comfortably informal, and a great restaurant for a date or special occasion or a weeknight dinner. The restaurant is small but comfortable. The desserts are typical delicious French desserts with a special Cream Brulee and Chocolate mousse, bien sur!
Truly a wonderful choice!
Food was delicious. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Nice atmosphere.
Great Service - Thanks - Need to order appropriately
My daughter and I loved the food. We should not have sat near the door pretty drafty but a well placed space heater saved the day!
Food wasn't great. The steak was very salty and the fish didn't feel fresh. The onion soup was good.
Fabulous as always. Outstanding classical French cooking. Great service. Very nice environment. A hit 100% of the time.
A little piece of France comes to Boston. Totally authentic.
We have dined at MA Maison on several occasions and have always received excellent service and fantastic food. Unfortunately our last dining experience was marred by an adjacent party of 16 loud men who made conversation at our table almost impossible.
The food was delicious: the halibut was so yummy, our friend loved her sole...said it was the best she had had in years and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the beef wellington. We always enjoy Sam and the Chef's excellent cuisine.
We've been going to Ma Maison for years. Always excellent French food and attentive (but not hovering) service. It is a small, intimate restaurant where one can have a quiet, leisurely meal. Our waiter was very helpful and I appreciated his advice on how to order in light of my dietary restrictions. A lot of good reasons why we keep going back.
Ma Maison is my favorite restaurant. They are always exquisite. Flavors are on point, as well as ambiance and service. The waiters are top notch, and they recognize me every time I come in. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who is looking for a lovely French dinner - or any meal for that reason. I recommend their duck especially!
Good cozy and quite french bistro. Food was good and service was excellent. It has a nice ambience and overall atmosphere. I would go there again.
Four of us had dinner at Ma Maison on a bitter cold night. First impression was a welcoming, lively, little place, tastefully decorated for the holidays. It is drafty however, despite a heavy curtain at the door, so bring a shawl if that bothers you. Seating was cozy, cozy enough for us to hear our neighbor mansplaining "creme brulee" to his date, to our amusement. Service was efficient and friendly, which is always a relief to me at a French place. We enjoyed a creamy, well-flavored mushroom soup special, sprightly dressed beet and goat cheese salad, a briny lobster risotto with swordfish and steak and beef bouguigonne entrees. Plates are sparsely garnished; a handful of plain brussel sprouts, a small basket of frites, a single bland potato croquette. I had the magret de canard, which was a bit overdone and underseasoned, and garnished with less than juicy orange slices, as opposed to segments. Cutting the skin away and adding salt and pepper helped, but I don't like having to finish my dish at the table. Disappointments are bitter when entrees are $30 and a renowned chef is at the helm. Creme brulee and grand profiterole were satisfying enough to end with. All in all, it was a good dinner, and certainly worth a go if you are in the area.
Everything we ordered was delicious, but the Grand Marnier souffle was simply out of this world. The room is very attractive and it's possible to have a conversation without raising your voice, a rarity these days. The wine list was not very long, but we found a perfect bottle on that list, which is all one can ask for. All in all, a terrific evening.
Romantic and Cozy atmosphere with a great selection of wine options. Creative French Culinary Cuisine.
Everything was great, the food, the service.
Very cute French Bristo!
Went on Christmas night for a great meal. The food was tasty!
Absolutely stellar Christmas Day menu and dining experience. We were in from out of town and chose Ma Madison from a fairly limited number of options open on the holiday. We were very impressed with the food and service.
Wonderful food for Christmas Day. Portions were very reasonable. Very traditional French cooking but done with great care. The bread was divine! Very nice service, too.
There for Christmas Dinner. Everything we had for fantastic. We both had escargot and butternut squash soup for our first two courses. The bread was fresh and delicious. I had dover sole and my husband had beef Wellington for our entree. Both were excellent. They were very accommodating since everything was cooked to order. When I asked about how much breading was on the dover sole, our waiter (who was fantastic) said they could make it any way I would like so I just left off the breading. We both had chocolate mouse and cappuccino for dessert - yummy! Throughout the meal we enjoyed a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape which was outstanding for $70.00. We just had a delightful time and will come back again.
As always Ma Maison delivered with five stars! Even on a busy Christmas Day the staff was relaxed, helpful, and made you feel at home. The food was amazing, creative and comforting down to the last bite. Wine fabulous - our favorite Sancerre is always at the ready. Can’t say enough. Our very favorite restaurant in Boston.
Packed for Christmas, the service was still exceptional. The food is always authentic and excellent. One of my favorite places.
Been going here for years and have never been disappointed, my favorite Boston French bistro
Enjoyed a pleasant dinner with good appetizers and entrees. Comfortable French cuisine.
Excellent! The food, service, and ambience definitely place Ma Maison in the top echelon of Boston’s fine dining options.
Onion soup,smoked salmon,snails, duck I love it!
I’ll be back soon!
Everything was actually delicious, service was attentive!
