Bravo Melissa! M. Georgina is still new so some of the slight lapses in service while noted, are really forgiven. As the kinks get worked out, I believe the friendly and knowledgeable service staff will excel. The food was inventive, beautifully presented and a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. We ordered the 7 course (although it seemed to be more) tasting menu which allowed a broad sampling of items Including 2 dessert tastings) which we might not have ordered a al carte for a very reasonable price. Cocktails were highly creative using some unique ingredients, well combined. With the caveat that I am not an LA native, but from the stodgier east coast, the only criticism is that the wine list - while offering plenty of wines under $ 100 - did not represent good value. Once the price of a bottle exceeds double retail I get unhappy. So a $ 20-30 bottle selling in the $ 60 - 95 range really seems wrong. Maybe its the local market but it kept us in cocktails instead. In the end, a great experience.
Upscale but casual atmosphere. Good food and service
Food was great. Had the kale salad, spring salad, oysters, mussels, steak and duck. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection!
Every plate was delicious, which is rare for me to say. Clams, Kale Salad, Pastas, Faro wraps were all tasty and inventive.
Great French wine selection. Only issue was the Somme took at least 20 minutes to get to our table. He was excellent once we got his time. Otherwise, service was outstanding.
Great vibe in a cool area of DTLA I haven’t been to before. Everything was delicious from the fresh baked bread to the Kampachi Crudo to the Spaghetti Aglio e Olio , Iacopi Butter Bean Ragout and finally the
Malted Milk Chocolate Tart. We will definitely be coming back soon!!!

Johnny was by far the least interested (in his role) server I’ve ever met. He wasn’t a good or even a decent listener and kept interrupting me as if he knew what I was about to say. Mediocre service, decent food and I won’t be back.
This was our first time to M. Georgina and we look forward to coming back. The chef’s dinner was fabulous and felt like an incredible value as well. I appreciated how the fresh ingredients stood out and the flavors were so balanced. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. The pace of the meal was great - we never felt rushed and the space was very comfortable. It was all around an A++ for us.

Food and service left much to be desired. 4 out of 5 dishes were served cold (they were meant to be hot) and flavors were fine but nothing exciting or ambitious. The server was friendly but was a touch too inattentive and never around to check on us in a timely manner. We gave it a shot but will not be back.
From the team behind Frances, my favorite San Francisco restaurant. M. Georgina is just as good. Delicious, creative food and wonderful service. Our table of 9 ordered the tasting menu family style and everyone was very pleased. The cocktails were amazing too. Definitely will return next time I'm in LA.
Been wanting to try this spot so bad and was very excited upon arrival. Gorgeous restaurant and beautiful location. Unfortunately our server was horrible and really dampened the experience for us.

Delicious restaurant. Plating was perfect, staff was incredibly attentive but never disruptive. Aesthetic style of the staff, flatware, tables, restaurant, everything matches and is on point. Don't eat here if you want to feel full for not too much money, but if you want to have a phenomenal dining experience and can afford to splurge a little (don't have to break the bank), this is a perfect choice.
Lovely meal, tasting menu was very nice, we especially loved the delicious mafaldine pasta! Service was impeccable, everyone is so friendly and attentive, wine list is great (and surprisingly affordable), ambiance is perfect (not too loud or crowded, but nicely conducive to intimate conversation), just an exceedingly enjoyable experience all around. Second visit did not disappoint. We are very much looking forward to the next visit.
Excellent find. In downtown Los Angeles, a great place to eat when attending a performance at the Music Center, only 7 minutes away. Worth a trip to the area of Alameda and 7th just to eat at M Georgina.
M. Georgina was fantastic. Truly one of my favorite dining experiences in Los Angeles. Every single dish we ordered was delicious...and the bread came out piping hot and was unbelievable! We also truly enjoyed the atmosphere and ambience...I can't wait to go back again!

Pastas were excellent. Too many desert options with alcohol! UGH!!! what remained was unnspiring. Don't give me another chocolate tart or ice cream as my only desert options - BORING!! Hence the downgrade.

As a brand new restaurant the team was incredible. The chef was personally working in the open kitchen. Bread to die for. Wide interesting wine list and knowledgeable staff. And the area is fantastic. Great parking. Easy to walk around area
Everything was good but not great (maitake mushrooms/celery root soup/duck for two/garden of greens/ginger stout cake). They did not over cook the duck breast which was a relief. One annoyance was that the server offered us the house made bread & butter on her if we wanted to try and then it appeared on the bill. I heard her make a similar offer to the next table for sparkling wine to soothe after they didn't get the table they had requested. Wondered if it would appear on their bill too!?! They add 4% on top of the bill without the option to remove which is not uncommon but can annoy some. I wish there was the option of a "maybe" recommendation because that is what I would say. There are better restaurants in Dtwn LA at the same price point in my opinion but they were booked as I had left my reservation run a bit late in the week.
Pretty sure this will go down as my best meal of 2020, and it’s only February! I’ve already made my return reservation for next weekend, can’t wait to try the tasting menu!

We made an impromptu reservation after going to Smorgasbord and finding long lines. We ordered the tasting menu at M. Georgina, and were pleasantly surprised, as we weren’t sure what to expect. We started off with the bread and butter, which had a crispy crust and airy, perfectly chewy bread. Great start. The rest of the meal, which was very extensive, had Asian, Italian and Mediterranean inspirations. Each dish was complimentary with unique flavor profiles. We especially liked the Black Cod collar, crab custard, the pasta and the wagyu. Actually, everything was delicious. After dessert, we were ready for a nap. The tasting menu allowed us to try a great combination of dishes at a reasonable price. Service was also stellar. Highly recommended!
M. Georgina is a fantastic restaurant and a huge edition to downtown and Los Angeles more generally. We are fans of Frances in San Francisco (the original restaurant of the chef) and were very excited for M. Georgina to open. Several of the staff from Frances including the front of house have made the move to Los Angeles, and it shows. The service is great, with the mixture of friendliness but also understated professionalism that is characteristic of Frances and we really love. The food is fantastic, again with a combination of creativity and flair but also understated polish and refinement. The setting is great. Easy to park (which is unfortunately becoming more of an issue downtown) and at the Row which offers plenty of pre- dinner window-shopping if you are inclined. The restaurant itself has fantastic windows that open on to the Row and make the restaurant feel airy and energetic. I'm very confident that M. Georgina will quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles!

I was really excited about trying M. Georgina. I read the LA Times review which was very positive and we ended up going with two friends to try it out before a concert at the LA Phil. The restaurant is well appointed and attractive, and is in the Row, which corners the market on newly upscaled and gentrified DTLA destinations. We brought a bottle of wine, and the sommelier uncorked and poured it for us in a gentlemanly way. We told our wait person that we had a concert at 8 (we got there at 6) and she seemed completely on board with that. But after getting bread and appetizer we sat and waited for our entres for a full half hour and the sommelier never came by to refresh our wine. We poured it ourselves. We then had to wait to flag our wait person for the check, and then wait a fairly long time for our credit cards to come back to us. We were disappointed by the long wait times because we would have liked to have dessert, but the time passed and passed and we needed to get to our concert. As it was, we only just made it with about five minutes to spare. I consider this pretty poor service. The food was very good--our friends had the duck for two, and we had the malfadine pasta with gorgonzola, pickled treviso lettuce and candied walnuts which was really good, and the chard saag which was good. But I think charging $24 for chard, beets, some cauliflower and a few cubes feta is out of line. We also started with the clams diabolo, which were excellent, but again, $5 for a single clam seemed excessive. It was basically an amuse bouche for a fiver. I am really not sure that I'd recommend it to friends as it is out of the way, and turned out not that the food, while good, was perhaps overpriced and a bit over rated in the review, and the service, given the prices, was unsatisfactory.

Went here for Valentine’s Day as a first-time patron. The service was slow, food was standard, and cost was inflated severely for the quality and portions we received. Maybe it’s because we went on a holiday but I wanted to like this place based on the the pics I saw. Probably won’t be going back to give this a second try even though it’s in my backyard.
