While we have been to the M Cafe several times, our friends from Texas were first time diners. They loved the food and the quiet atmosphere that allows for easy conversation. We always enjoy our experience.
Our first time at the Cafe. The service was prompt and courteous. The food was served within a reasonable time, and was very tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Need to update menu on opentable app. Did not have rose’ or fried raviolis and those were two items we were looking forward to ordering. But otherwise it was reasonably priced and food was very good!!
A spec loud music!
Love the waiter. So receiving and professional!
Need frozen margaritas.
Menu good. Love the appetizers!
Its the place to go!
Nice meal, food took a while to get to us but the staff was very pleasant
We dine here several times per year and have always had a good experience.
This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Erie. The food is very good the atmosphere is very relaxed, private and quiet. The only criticism I could give is that the items are not always consistent
in how they are cooked, but I can deal with that.
Some improved vegetarian choices would be great. The present choices that you have are minimal.
They were even short staffed and the service was great. Thanks for a great night.
Came for a Mother’s Day Buffett and since it was near “end of service” they neglected to put out any fresh food. Very disappointing. Do not make reservations available if you can’t provide the same quality level than earlier in the day.
On our first pass through buffet line many of the dishes were empty and the others were cold. The eggs benedict was tasty but couldn't cut the english muffin as it was too hard. I did a second pass as I didn't eat much of the first and the dishes were all filled this time. The shrimp kabobs were tasty and the special syrup for the waffles was excellent. My husband really enjoyed the cream puffs for dessert. I believe the flavor of the food would be excellent as a sit down dinner but the dishes didn't cross over to a buffet so well. I'm thinking they really didn't have enough staff for the amount of customers so could not keep the buffet stocked and several groups who came in after we were seated waited quite a while to get service.
We had reservations for 6 & arrived at 7pm ordered by 7:20pm. One member was served their salad while the rest of the table waited 15-20min for the tables appetizer to arrive. Our entrees never arrived until 8:15pm and all of our food was cold. All I could taste in the pea mint risotto was the wine, the salmon was good but asparagus was cold. By the time the kids buttered noodles arrived they were tired and no longer hungry. The server was delightful though.
Awesome waiter and awesome food!
Highly recommended. If you are looking for a place with great food, generous glasses of house wine, good service, a quiet atmosphere, and classy surroundings, then this is your place.
Great food and equally good service. Had the salmon for dinner. Perfectly cooked and decent sized serving.
Scallops and asparagus cooked to perfection. Service was excellent and prompt. Definitely revisiting.
Took my wife for her birthday dinner. As always, great service and great food! Never been disappointed in a meal here.
Lovely evening...great service, cool atmosphere, good food. Nice place to meet with friends.
Food and service were great. Very nice environment. Champagne lemon vinaigrette salad dressing is outstanding.
Great food and drinks.
We always enjoy our visits to M Cafe!
Food was excellent and our service was great. It has a cozy welcoming feel to it. We definitely would go again.
Great meal and service. Nice atmosphere. Fairly busy, but still not loud. Enjoyed a great dinner with my hubby!
We had a wonderful meal. Chocolate strawberry cheesecake was amazing.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent! Dessert was really good!
Good dinner, atmosphere very nice, attentive waitress and reasonable prices. Very pleasant evening
The restaurant and bar area are beautiful and well appointed. The menu is good and the servings are fine. The quality (taste) needs a bit upgraded. The food seemed to lack a signature taste more "homemade" than restaurant style.
Our waiter was wonderful. Attentive, helpful and funny. Our food could've been hotter. - it was just warm.
Worst dining experience I’ve had in the Erie area. Service was terrible we actually had to go to the bar and grab our drinks bc the waiter left that in the bar for 20 minutes while we sat there and watched the ice melt. When we were seated (with a reservation not a walk in table) we were told that our waiter had a table for 40 people and he wouldn’t be able to pay a lot of attention to us. We should have left then. but we had a reservation that we made through open table. If you couldn’t accommodate our reservation you shouldn’t have accepted it. We waited over an hour for our dinner. And the whole time we never complained or made a deal about it. They offered us a free dessert but we had already been there for close to 2 hours and needed to get home to our sitter. The manager literally berated is because she overheard me ask my husband where our waiter was. We paid a babysitter to sit in a restaurant with terrible service and be harassed by their manager. Never again will I waste time there. Very bad
We enjoy the M Cafe several times per year, and we have never been disappointed. They have a nice selection of craft beer and wine, and an interesting menu. The service is always consistent too.
Amazing waiter! My daughters burger came out a little over done but he was awesome and took care of it quickly. Super polite and courteous. The rest of the food was outstanding especially the gnocchis. Would definitely go back.
Excellent from start to finish. Great service, atmosphere, food and price. The Bronzed Salmon and Dad's Pound Chicken are favorites. Oh, and the beet salad is amazing!
Hosted a couple for first time at M Cafe and we were not disappointed!
We didn’t have the best experience. The food took a really really looooong time. And when it came out half of it was cold with little apology. They did take the one sandwich off the bill .. but we ended up stopping for food on the way home from
My wife's pasta dish was excellent. My 10oz strip steak was a bit overcooked and had more char on it than I'd have hoped for (I ordered medium rare) and it arrived medium/medium well. The 1907 Mendoza Malbec was excellent by the bottle and paired well with our meals. The server/bartender was friendly and made a good suggestion with the whiskey drink I had, but we were disappointed that better branded liquor was not used for the $8.50 price tag. This was our third time dining here since it opened a few years back and it wasn't perfect, but the erie fine dining bogo deal made it a reasonable, albeit forgettable date night meal.
The food was fantastic and the wine selection very good and at an incredibly reasonable price point. Our server was busy but took good care of us and we made sure she knew we were not in a hurry.
Menu has something for everyone. Spacious and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Good choice for a night out.
Veggie Enchiladas with no cheese was a perfect and delicious vegan option. The side of broccoli was steamed to a perfect bright green. Our server was outstanding...very professional, attentive and friendly. Made a gathering of a few friends even more enjoyable.
Unfortunately we were disappointed. Service was a bit sketchy. Food was not very good. A catch of the week was ordered by two in the party. Both found it less than remarkable at $26 per. Of the other two orders in our party of four, one was said to be inedible, and the other “so-so.”
I reviewed this for Yelp about 3 years ago and gave it two stars for one of the worst meals I have ever had and a most pretentious menu that only had ordinary items with fancy names. It was very busy, and the restaurant was fairly new and mistakes were made in our order. I returned because the wait time at another restaurant was suddenly tripled and M is a locally owned restaurant on our way home. The restaurant was not busy this time. Our table was in front of the fireplace which would be wonderful in cold weather but was also in front of the restrooms, a Ying and Yang location. This time I had the special, red snapper and it was insipid and over cooked as was the seafood entry I had on my last visit. This time the entry was not bad only to mediocre, especially for a special. I had high hopes after getting my salad a fried tomato salad which was delicious. The bar selection is copious and the bar rather elegant so this might be a good place for happy hour.
Best Happy Hour! Great service. Bar tender is knowledgeable and friendly. Waiter is fun, fast and accurate.
The decor is beautiful. The patio is covered and very pleasant and comfortable. The menu has something for everyone. Everything from salads and hamburgers to steaks and seafood. I was in a party of 8, everyone enjoyed their meals & drinks. My only suggestion would be open for Sunday Brunch.
