It was Valentine's day so I figured they would be busy. Our server was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered the prime rib, just a little pink, special and my wife ordered a black bean burger with sweet potato fries. It's a good thing thing the lights were down because the prime rib was pretty rare. My wife got regular fries and we immediately notified the waiter, we never got the fries. I ordered a strawberry chocolate cheesecake and my wife ordered the red velvet cake. The cheesecake tasted like a jello cheesecake you buy at the store and the cake had more icing than cake. We ordered coffee as well and since they didn't get the sweet potato fries, this was taken off our bill.
I wasn't expecting a lot considering the evening. I don't expect we return.
not really the place for younger generation....
This restaurant is perfect for a relaxing dinner. Beautifully decorated, warm ambiance, and welcoming staff. You can have a relatively inexpensive dinner if you wish, or splurge on something exotic. If you're into early dining , the happy hour can't be beat. 22oz drafts for $2, and martini's on sale too. Some of my favorites are the wedge salad with shrimp added on, cauliflower appetizer with Thai chili sauce ( not too spicy), Salmon, fried fish dinner, and I could go on. An Erie treasure in my opinion.
First time there. Quiet classy place. Able to relax and enjoy the night
Our meals were good. Drinks were just ok. My husband and I had the Halibut and filet, which were both good. Our cocktails were as anticipated but nothing spectacular. We had an Open Table dining reward, which we told our waitress about, who then asked the manager. They both seemed very irritated and annoyed that we were attempting to use our dining reward. They didn’t know how to use the reward card, and when they attempted, they ran it for the wrong amount and then blamed it on their computer. In the end we couldn’t use the $50 reward card, which was the main reason we booked the reservation. The manager blamed Open Table for “signing them up for this” and was visibly upset. My 4 year old even noticed her frustration. She told us that they were not responsible for this. As a small local business they should welcome the business of the Open table reward, but instead they made us feel awful for trying to use it. Overall, it was a good meal, but disappointing customer service. Hopefully we can still redeem our $50 at another restaurant.
Tiffany and John Perry was exceptional !
We had a wonderful time, thank you !
Dinner was Saturday night and upon arrival there was no host or bartender in sight. Stood with two other couples waiting for someone to seat us. Finally we’re given a table and waited fifteen minutes for our waitress to offer us a drink. The restaurant was not busy at all but seemed k one wanted to work that night. The food was delicious but the message delivered by the staff left us wondering if they even cared. Too bad.
Our dinner was very good. The filet was cooked very well. My wife got the gnocchi and although they are good they were over cooked Nd mushy. Good dinner.
Brenda (waitress) did a very good job.
Very pleasant and the food was excellent
This one is a pleasant surprise for the little town or Erie PA, as most of our previous experience with local eating establishments have been so-so. M Cafe was a delightful little surprise. Wait staff was attentive without being overly chummy. The food was a another pleasant surprise. My sea scallop special was delightfully tasty, although it was rather heavy handed in the spicing department. My wife's fish was also quite good albeit over-cooked. What is it with Erie PA and their penchant for cooking fish till it is petrified? Again, going a little easier on the flavoring and salt would have significantly improved taste. However, overall, it was a delightful experience. Would come back again.... but bro... go light on the sauce!
The service was great! Very attentive and pleasant!!
The food was the best that we've had yet in Erie! We will definitely be back!
It has been a few years since we have been here but I’m so glad we decided to come back! We all had a great meal and are looking forward to returning again soon. Great ambiance, good drinks & excellent food! Our server was very attentive & friendly too!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at M Cafe. The food and service were excellent and the restaurant was very accommodating to our requests. The tuna and scallops were superlative. We sat outside with our pups and we’re treated well by everyone.
While we have been to the M Cafe several times, our friends from Texas were first time diners. They loved the food and the quiet atmosphere that allows for easy conversation. We always enjoy our experience.
Our first time at the Cafe. The service was prompt and courteous. The food was served within a reasonable time, and was very tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Need to update menu on opentable app. Did not have rose’ or fried raviolis and those were two items we were looking forward to ordering. But otherwise it was reasonably priced and food was very good!!
A spec loud music!
Love the waiter. So receiving and professional!
Need frozen margaritas.
Menu good. Love the appetizers!
Its the place to go!
Nice meal, food took a while to get to us but the staff was very pleasant
We dine here several times per year and have always had a good experience.
This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Erie. The food is very good the atmosphere is very relaxed, private and quiet. The only criticism I could give is that the items are not always consistent
in how they are cooked, but I can deal with that.
Some improved vegetarian choices would be great. The present choices that you have are minimal.
Just ok. For the $ we spent, I would have thought the quality and taste would’ve been better. I’ve had a decent experience here before but this time might keep me from visiting again.
They were even short staffed and the service was great. Thanks for a great night.
Came for a Mother’s Day Buffett and since it was near “end of service” they neglected to put out any fresh food. Very disappointing. Do not make reservations available if you can’t provide the same quality level than earlier in the day.
On our first pass through buffet line many of the dishes were empty and the others were cold. The eggs benedict was tasty but couldn't cut the english muffin as it was too hard. I did a second pass as I didn't eat much of the first and the dishes were all filled this time. The shrimp kabobs were tasty and the special syrup for the waffles was excellent. My husband really enjoyed the cream puffs for dessert. I believe the flavor of the food would be excellent as a sit down dinner but the dishes didn't cross over to a buffet so well. I'm thinking they really didn't have enough staff for the amount of customers so could not keep the buffet stocked and several groups who came in after we were seated waited quite a while to get service.
We had reservations for 6 & arrived at 7pm ordered by 7:20pm. One member was served their salad while the rest of the table waited 15-20min for the tables appetizer to arrive. Our entrees never arrived until 8:15pm and all of our food was cold. All I could taste in the pea mint risotto was the wine, the salmon was good but asparagus was cold. By the time the kids buttered noodles arrived they were tired and no longer hungry. The server was delightful though.
Awesome waiter and awesome food!
Highly recommended. If you are looking for a place with great food, generous glasses of house wine, good service, a quiet atmosphere, and classy surroundings, then this is your place.
Great food and equally good service. Had the salmon for dinner. Perfectly cooked and decent sized serving.
Scallops and asparagus cooked to perfection. Service was excellent and prompt. Definitely revisiting.
Took my wife for her birthday dinner. As always, great service and great food! Never been disappointed in a meal here.
Lovely evening...great service, cool atmosphere, good food. Nice place to meet with friends.
Food and service were great. Very nice environment. Champagne lemon vinaigrette salad dressing is outstanding.
Great food and drinks.
We always enjoy our visits to M Cafe!
Food was excellent and our service was great. It has a cozy welcoming feel to it. We definitely would go again.
Great meal and service. Nice atmosphere. Fairly busy, but still not loud. Enjoyed a great dinner with my hubby!
We had a wonderful meal. Chocolate strawberry cheesecake was amazing.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent! Dessert was really good!
Good dinner, atmosphere very nice, attentive waitress and reasonable prices. Very pleasant evening
