Everything about this restaurant was mediocre. The food. The service. The drinks. We came because we had a giftcard. Will likely not come back.
Great service, food prepared wonderfully, friendly management.
Unable to rate M&S grill as we ate at McCormick & Scmicks Restaurant. We made a reservation from Open Table thinking it was the restaurant, not the grill. When we arrived they didn't have our reservation and questioned whether we had the reservation at the grill. Why didn't they call the grill to ascertain this? It was Friday night at 6:30 and they were not very busy so we were seated at our choice of seats, a snug which had been requested through our internet reservation. I assume the grill does not have snugs so why didn't they respond with that request which obviously could not be met.
I just went online for McCormick & Schmicks and was taken to the grill - very confusing.
Do not join the "Landry" program - it is a rip-off and annoying.
But do eat at this place; it was very nice.
service was slow and food was cold and overcooked once it got to us. the restaurant did not look the busy
We’ve gone to M&S grill 4 Years in a row for Christmas dinner and this year was the best.
We went there for Christmas dinner and had a great time. The pork chops and flounder were fabulous!
I have never met a more skilled and friendly waitstaff. The food was excellent. We are already planning on going back.
We've gone to M&S Grill several times to celebrate Christmas and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the staff is wonderful.
My brother and I went for Christmas Day lunch and everything was absolutely superb ... from the mouth-watering/excellently prepared food (we had appetizers and dessert as well) and great wine to the friendly managers who stopped by, the low-key ambiance, and the excellent but nonintrusive server, Quinn! This is now our go-to restaurant for delicious food at a great price point ... especially for holiday meals b/c they're open 365 days a year ... woohoo!!!
Went there on New Year’s Eve. App was ok, both of our steaks were not cooked to temp. Employees were great however will not go back
For whatever reason, despite living here in Reston for the past seven years, this is only my second time eating here at M&S Grill. For whatever reason, we always overlook this place, but are always reminded the food & wine always are a pleasant surprise. We will be back again.
Its been ages since I've been to M & S-we had gift cards to use and desperately needed both a kids-free date night and a steak...M & S did NOT disappoint from the appetizers to the main course to dessert. Best top sirloin I've had in a long time and the meatloaf my husband ordered was quite possibly the best we've ever had (although I always tease him for ordering meatloaf at nice restuarants!) Young man who served us was pleasant and attentive without being a nuisance. We will be back!
While the decor was very nice, the service and quality of food was lacking. We had a table of four for dinner. When the rolls came out, they gave us each one. One of the party had soup and asked for another roll and again, he brought out just one for her. The stuffed mushrooms were good and the crabcake was fine (not the best) but the trout and the rice and beans with catfish were unappetizing at best. The server couldn't hear anything over the noise (its holiday time so a noisy restaurant is expected) but he disappeared for very long periods at a time. We travel to that conference annually and will not return to that restaurant again.
We made our reservations through the McCormick and Schmick site, clicking on the link to reserve, which took us to Open Table. Made the reservation, enjoyed a great dinner - and did not realize til later, after wondering why the restaurant did not have our confirmed reservation, that the reservation turned out to be for M & S Grill and not the related restaurant we intended to book for. Have been to, and eaten very well at, both restaurants!
We were there on Thanksgiving- the staff really made the night. From the hostess (didn’t catch her name) to Ryan the manager and Jim...they all made our evening that much more enjoyable so thank you!!
There for Thanksgiving. Food and onion soup was cold even though the plates were hot. Server was not attentive. Recommended expensive wines and then said he didn’t know much about wine. Had to go to bar to refill our soda. Slices of pie were tiny but tasty. Manager was apologetic and corrected everything. Would not go back.
Especially liked the service; our waiter was very attentive.
We were very appreciative of the restaurant honoring veterans. Between my husband and I we served for 42 years total. The food was great. I have a concern about our bill. Our receipt shows $27.77. The receipt does not show a place for a tip. We left a $5.00 cash tip. (Table 123/1 reprint receipt # 100223. The amount that appeared on our bank record was $ 37.77. Right now I'm confused. Always check your bill and make sure you have the receipt that shows the tip line.
Veteran's Day Observance; they honor veterans on this day by inviting vets for a great special menu annually! They are to be commended for this tribute! It is very special to be among those who care enough to provide such great food and friendship!
The food and drinks were excellent and the service was impeccable. The price of the meal was appropriate. The restaurant ambiance was nice and comfortable! I definitely will go back.
The food was good the staff attentive but not intrusive. The manager checked in with every table .
M&S grill offers Veteran’s lunch one day a year around Veterans Day. There is a special menu list for this meal. We go every year. We go here when we are in the Reston Town Center.
I don’t drink beer but others in my party did and they found beers they like.
The staff are very friendly and efficient. I like how they say “my pleasure” whenever you ask for something. It’s kind of old fashioned but it’s such a nice touch.
The manager passed out post cards to fill out. He collected them at the end of the meal and is going to send them to veterans in hospitals.
This is a great place if you are a picky eater or have allergies. They will adapt for you.
Food was mediocre, service was not good. There were not enough servers. We were very disappointed.
Great service! Love the French onion soup and shrimp wrapped in bacon.
Richard was our bartender and server. He was amazing. The food was amazing. The manager on staff was very helpful and provided us the utmost courtesy and allowed us to stay past closing. Anxious place. Would highly recommend
We got there at 5 so noise level was great...very quiet! Food very good, waiter truly so-so. Hope that isn't a long term career for him.
Service was horrible. Waitress dumped an entire tray of drinks on my business guests and then dropped dirty silver on same guest. She apologized for the error but offer was made to guest to comp drink/offer dry cleaning was not made. Food was very good but wait staff was incompetent.
Nice looking place and comfy but, service was slow and hard to find server for our check. Food is average at best.
As always, the M&S Grill is a fun place to eat dinner and enjoy happy hour! The service and food are a winning combination!
The place is loud, the food not too good, the presentation like a diner and a very disappointing evening out. It is not worth the price of their entrees. I would not recommend it.
M&S Grill has a patio cigar bar right outside the front door. Not only do you have to walk through a fog of smoke to enter the restaurant, but the smoke permeates the entire restaurant. Unless you prefer to dine while inhaling second hand smoke, mediocre service, and mediocre food, you should go elsewhere.
Awesome. Sat outsidr, service and food were top shelf.
Food was good, as expected. I had a ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. The service was outstanding.
The ribeye was good. The scallops were ok. The oysters were good, the nachos were ok and the chocolate bag was really good. The price for the items was very high though. The staff was really great! I don't think we will return though.
Very nice and friendly staff. Shrimp scampi awesome.
We wanted to sit on the patio and dine listening to the end of the concert. But someone had been smoking CIGARS and the patio reeked. So we dined inside - it was fine inside and the wait staff was very nice
great service. bad food. horribly dry and over cooked steak. manager and waiter were extremely helpful and tried what they could to remedy the situation.
This was the beginning of a fairly terrible date night. Restaurant was empty, but this is Wednesday so I wasn't exactly expecting it to be packed. We began the night with a rather gritty, luke warm lobster bisque - very underwhelming considering our previous visit in April was significantly better. The few other tables around us received the typical welcome bread, which we did not. The one order of Tender Beef Medallions was not cooked as we ordered, and by the time the corrected order came out, the my husband had finished his meal. It's very awkward to watch someone eat while twiddling my thumbs. The kitchen area looks very poorly lit, maybe this contributed to being unable to understand a meats cooking level. Moving on to dessert, I will NOT order the Chocolate Molten Cake again, I recommend the same for anyone reading this. If a typical molten/lava cake is microwaved from frozen for about 3 - 4 minutes, this had seen well over 10. It was very solid, a little difficult to pierce with the spoon, and cold. From start to finish, the entire 'experience' took about an hour and a half, for a restaurant that was dead. Our server had a fun personality, but with the speed of service and quality, we will not be back. After reading some of the reviews on here, it's clear that this is becoming a trend for M & S.
We celebrated a birthday out on the patio. Our drinks were perfect and dinner was delicious! The service was great too.
