M & S Grill - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
We have visited and enjoyed this restaurant over the past 10 years when we visit Baltimore however this time much to our disappointment the service was poor( took over 90 minutes to get our meal and after waiting that long we were told that one of our guest order wasn’t available a ribeye steak! Again after the wait we waited another 30 minutes for our meals to show up. 3 of the 5 steak entrees came out so rare that they were still cold inside. We sent them back and 2 of the 3 came back almost acceptable but the third steak came back just as undercooked. We asked to send that back again and after waiting 15 more minutes we asked where the steak was and they told us they thought my customer didn’t want to eat dinner. They finally cooked another steak still undercooked but acceptable The staff never seemed concerned or really cared about anything. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The lack of concern by any of the staff, the poor food quality and presentation made our experience as the worst restaurant I have visited in my life
We went here for New Year's Eve dinner and it was really great! Our server was wonderful- kind and attentive! The location was really great- right on the water front of Inner Harbor, however our booth was not by a window and every time the entrance door open we got a huge gust of cold winter air so that was a bit of bummer, but not the worst thing that could happen. We ordered the fried calamari, steak plate, and a salad plate in addition to wine and champagne- It was all really delicious! I would definitely recommend and I would probably come back here in the future
Our dinner at M&S Grill was disappointing.
Service was very slow. Our drink order took 20 minutes and our entree’s took almost an hour to make it to our table. And 2 out of 5 dishes were served cold. They were sent back. They did come back fresh and hot. The restaurant was NOT busy! It was us and 3 other tables! Definitely not recommended.
I have been to this restaraunt twice while visiting Baltimore and both times have been a major let down. We went the first time and all of us got the Surf and Turf special and it was an extremely (4oz tail/4oz steak) small portion for the price. However, since it was a special we chalked it up to that and decided to try it again this year. With 8 people again we went and decided to stick away from the specials menu more than 1/2 of us ordered steaks (bone in dry rubbed 20z) for $48 each. Not only did they come out all overcooked from what we requested they also were the wrong steaks. Add on top of that the poor service which took almost an hour for our meals to come out and our waiter returning maybe one time to check out our table and refill drinks. Will not return here again, this fully explains why we were able to get a reservation table for 8 within less than an hour from when we called. Locals clearly don't go here for a reason.
To start is took about 20 minutes to get a drink. Then it took another 20 minutes to get another drink because the first ones were wrong.
Food comes and shrimp way over cooked to the point of going black. Then found long hair in my shrimp before taking my first bite.
Outstanding early dinner meal. Food was delicious. Ambiance is terrific. Hostess was charming and a delight to talk with. The entire staff were so appreciative of the service members who were enjoying meals. Love going to this place...my compliments to the chef.
The restaurant could use a really good cleaning and renovation. Smelled sour and ceiling tiles are stained. While to food was amazing it took FOREVER to come out. Over 45 mins and we were on our lunch hour from work. No manager came over to apologize or explain the wait. The restaurant was pretty empty. Out server April was great and very accommodating and attentive. Menu us priced pretty high in comparison to other area restaurants like Brio, Kona and Cheesecake Factory.
Place was empty on a Thursday night at 7:30 PM, despite a National Convention next door with 35,000 visitors. Arrived 7:15 and were asked to wait for 20 minutes, even though our table (and most of the dining room) were available and empty. Party of seven. Some ordered 6 oz Filet mignon. They were out (Steak house out of Steak?!?!). They gave us the 8 oz, and charged 6 oz, but we only found out later they would do that. No communication from waiter. he just said we are out and you need to order up. Half the Steaks were semi cold. My friend ordered medium and it was dripping blood. I ordered mine medium rear and it was well done. We ordered ice cream for dessert. They were out of all ice cream and sorbet. It couldn't have been because of the huge demand that day as the restaurant was 80% empty. Will not return.
Went to M&S Grill as a prelude to a concert at Pier 6 pavilion. Sat outside to people watch, but could have done without the terrible music coming from the Inner Harbor amphitheater. I certainly hope the performers weren't paid to bang on an empty bucket with a stick and dance for an hour and a half. Sorry folks, that's not music, it's noise, bad noise.
Service was terrific, April did a great job. Drinks and food were served promptly. All-in-all, a decent experience except for the value of the food. Very pricey for what you got. The lobster bisque was excellent, however the stuffed shrimp and scampi were very small for an exorbitant price. Drinks were costly, but we justified that because we would have spent more at the concert venue per drink. Seriously, there are better food values out there, but in retrospect, I guess the view of the harbor is the driving factor in a tourist-trap type restaurant to allow them to get close to $30/entree. It was an experience, but we won't be back. Should have gone to the Cheesecake Factory.
We were visiting Baltimore harbor
Got week end . Decided to eat at m&S
Grill . The hostess was extremely rude
We almost left but the server was very nice
And made up for the rudeness of the hostess
My suggestion is have some one pleasant at front desk not a miserable person.
Food was great !
It took a very long time for our meal to arrive.
It was restaurant week so we expected it to be a little busy but it took way longer then expected.
We already knew what we wanted to eat bye to reviewing the menu before arriving and it still was a long wait. The waiter come over to check on us and he couldn't believe we didn't have our food.
Visited the restaurant on Monday night during a business trip. Nothing special to note on this night. Selection is limited but the meal was good. Wait staff inexperienced; brought the first course (salad) with the entree - and no rolls.
In summary, we enjoyed the meal, but it was not special in any way - not that there is anything wrong with that; it was Monday after all!
