This restaurant is excellent. Everything was awesome.
Excellent steaks and service. Always good. Great wine list
Dining at Lynn’s never disappoints. Great service, great food, and the atmosphere allows for a very relaxing experience.
The lunch filet was cooked perfect and very tasty.
What an amazing experience! The staff was amazing and I enjoyed myself!
I didn't think the sides were very special, the carrots or the spinach. My steak was fine.
We've gone to this restaurant many times. It's not cheap, but it has excellent food and service.
Well this was our last stop on Houston Restaurant Weeks. I had not been to Lynn’s since the late 90’s although being in the Energy business then, it was a frequent lunch stop for years. The crab cake and goat cheese salad appetizers were excellent. The steak choices were a Wagyu sirloin and 12 oz NY Strip. Both were average. Our other stops during the month all offered filet options which were far better.
Desserts were also average. As others have mentioned the exterior is showing it’s age. The interior is very atmospheric in an old school steakhouse style. Service was also average, and our other four stops in August were newer restaurants who obviously excelled in service. I suspect most patrons here now are local Memorial baby boomers still enjoying the vintage aura.
The food and service were excellent. This is an "old school" steakhouse with excellent attention to detail. Our waiter Angel was wonderful and attentive. Our steaks were cooked perfectly.
Excellent service for a large business meeting that I hosted. They seated us in a semi-private room and the staff was very accommodating. Old school steakhouse without some of the frills of newer options. The ambiance is a bit dated but food and service was great.
Our server, Danny, made the birthday celebration one for record books.
Food and ambiance was wonderful. However, felt a little rushed through our ordering and courses.
Our first experience of this restaurant and though pleasant, wasn't anything to write home about. It took forever to order the drinks and the meal and then my husbands entree arrived before he had chance to finish is first course soup. The food itself was OK and the steaks were well prepared if not a little "fatty" for our liking but perfectly cooked medium rare. The chocolate cake unfortunately tasted like it was shop bought and quite dry where as the banana fosters cheesecake was very nice though again, shop bought. On the plus side, the waiter was very sweet and my Cosmo was excellent (once I got it!). All in all if you are wanting a simple night out with some average food, its OK if a little pricey for what it is.
A wonderful anniversary dinner. They had a card , Champagne and a personalized dessert plate.
Outstanding service and food!! Loved the HRW menu!!
it's been a very long time since I've been to Lynn's Steakhouse. enjoyed every bit of the meal and atmosphere.
Great evening, it was our anniversary they went above and beyond to help us celebrate. Food was fantastic and the wine selection is second to none.
We went during Houston Restaurant Weeks 2019. The Restaurant Weeks menu had a nice selection. My sirloin steak had a delightful peppercorn sauce that I really enjoyed. The key lime pie was superb!!
Wonderful meal. Great restaurant week menu
First time back in many many years. My husband and I had a great evening with wonderful food. Our waiter, Gus, went over and above to make our night extra special. We will be back again soon!!
Yes. I like to come here because it's quiet, the service is attentive and the food is delicious!
The food was alright and my steak wasn't prepared the way I order it. My friends were eating and I didn't want to prolong dinner by sending it back. The drinks prices were outrageous. I could have purchased a bottle of Prosecco for the two glasses I paid for. I don't have a problem with paying but suggested are always nice. Also, I used two American express gift cards and I was charged twice for a tip. Really? Why? My first visit and probably last.
Food and service were fabulous.....it was listed on the Houston Restaurant Week menus so we decided to give it a try. I’d for sure go back, sadly there were very few dining when we arrived, by the time our meal was over, we were the only ones in the entire restaurant. But the food, well worth trying. I’d love to go back.
Great service great food and ambiance!
I have been here twice. Once for Valentine's Day two years ago and again today with my coworker to check out the 2019 Houstons Restaurant Weeks Lunch Menu.
The first experience was great. Top notch formal service, great ambiance, attentive staff. I had grilled fish, steamed asparagus, "creamed" spinach and later bisque.
This second visit I had the house salad which was great and steak medallions two ways that came with a small scoop of sweet potatoes and creamed spinach. For my third course I selected the cheesecake.
My steak medallions were absolutely more medium rare than medium. I cut around the outside. I liked the different sauce on both. I should have requested medium well apparently. The sweet potatoes lacked flavor and soul. Really needs some butter and brown sugar. The creamed spinach has sucked both times. It's actually not creamy at all and they put a thin layer of cheese on top for some reason. My cheesecake was good but the portion was small and looked mangled in my to go box once I got back to work.
I'm not completely sure if I would visit again unless it was a business lunch or corporate function where I'm not paying. I know this restaurant has been around for a long time and it's a staple in the Oil/Gas community but they haven't wowed me yet. I'm sure the majority of their patrons don't mind very lightly seasoned food or their meat more on the rare side...If you get my drift.
Very disappointed in the main dishes, my fish was very fishy and the etouffee sauce was white like white gravy. My husband's steak was flavorful but dry. I don't mind paying for good food, but this totally was not. Service was awesome though.
When I made the reservation online for Lynn's, I added a little note it was for a birthday. To our surprise, when we were sat at our table, the serving staff all signed a card wishing a Happy Birthday and even served dessert with a birthday message on the plate. It really made the evening feel special. The decor was eclectic with rich woods and clean linens and as the manager described "old school". The staff was professional and courteous. The wine selection was extensive. And they cook a good steak :-) Go figure. We were very pleased to find this gem on the west side of Houston.
Great service! Cute little restaurant. From the outside it doesn't look like much but nice ambiance and wine bottle decors inside.
Got the order wrong. Hard to find a waiter to tell. Food was good, wish it was what I ordered, but what I had was good.
My steak was cooked to perfection, excellent taste. My wife's fish was over cooked and dry. She told the waiter but he didn't offer to get her a new one.We where very disappointed with his attitude. Then he got a big table and our service went down hill.I enjoyed my food but my wife was disappointed.
Birthday lunch was great!
First time to this lovely place.
Excellent service and food! The Best restaurant in Houston!
Lynn's is always consistent. Every visit has met or exceeded my expectations. Crab cake appetizer is a great starter. Steaks were prepared to the correct temperature. Salmon with sauce was also enjoyed.
The express lunch is well worth the trip to Lynn's even after the Memorial traffic challenges. I suggest you arrive from the North.
The steak, salad, bread, and drinks were great. The service was above expectation. Chris the waiter was personable and very attentive. Will definitely be back. I got the “cowboy” ribeye and it was done to perfection. Took home the left overs and they were great the next day. Got two meals for the price of one.
Excelente food and the service, as always, the best.
Had a lovely evening. Steaks were perfectly cooked. The sides were very crisp and fresh.
Totally enjoyed the quiet dining. Extensive wine list.
Overall food quality (at lunch) was ok but not comenserate to the check. We ordered separately but should have stuck with the business lunch. The food tended to be over salted, buttered, creamed, or came with gravy to mask the average quality.
Don’t know why we’ve never stopped in before. Old school lovely steak house ambiance, quiet and romantic. Service was great and friendly. We were celebrating a birthday and even were surprised with dessert ‘. The filet was perfect Pittsburgh rate just as we asked. Au gratin potatoes were good as well. We will definitely be back!!
Crab cakes - none better
Tenderloin - none better
Service - none better
Or waiter Gus was outstanding
