Wyatt Hoffman took excellent care of us and anticipated every need with genuine care. Thanks Wyatt for a great evening. Cheers,
Great happy hour!
Little slow bringing syrup, pancake/waffle got cold. Serve could have been more attentive. Maybe a bit overwhelmed.
Had a wonderful brunch with family! The food was delicious and plentiful to be shared. The cocktails were also spot on. Perfect Bloody Mary and Mimosa!! Great spot to relax and enjoy ~ and the staff were attentive and engaging/funny.
Beautiful interior with a nice fireplace. Perfect for brunch.
Moved to Chicago today. Great experience!
Great food and drink recommendation! service was great!
Our waiter, John I think was fab!!
Great. The service, good and ambiance was just what we needed.
This has become our go to New Years Day brunch place when visiting. Fantastic bloody Mary’s with served with a little beer shot sidecar, fantastic avocado toast, a marvelous place all around..
Our server was extremely personable and gave us the perfect amount of attention considering we were on a date. Not too much, not too little - just right!
Was able to obtain a last minute reservation here for a table of 6 on New Years Eve. Staff was professional and attentive. Great ambiance with fireplace and warm festive lighting. Love the selection of bourbon and whiskey for a make your own Old Fashioned. Food was excellent and fairly priced as well.
Amazing breakfast/brunch. Possibly the best Bloody Mary in Chicago!
Everything was wonderful! Kids being allowed made it a little more casual but still a wonderful place and time!
Always a great time.
Server was fabulous. Great personality, good service.
tables too close together.. people could not move around them, including servers. Very noisy, difficult to have a conversation at the table.
Upbeat atmosphere, a little loud, but not too loud. The server was friendly, smart, and gave us great reccommendations. We had theatre tix, and they were very conscious of our timeline. The steak frites was terrific!
We try to make it to the Luxbar when we come to Chicago at least for breakfast. Took some friends that had never been before, they LOVED it!
So I was expecting to have an actual “luxury” experience. But it was just another wrigleyville bar. Loud, food was mediocre, service was typical, but design was nice.
Great manhattans and old fashioneds! Burgers were very good. Limited menu is the only reason I gave it a 4. Get a cozy table by the firelace this winter! The 4 of us really enjoyed our visit there. Good walking in surrounding area (Rush Street), too, to walk off the booze.
Have been coming here periodically since they opened. It's in my neighborhood and I'm happy about that. It's parent restaurant is Gibson's, but it is more casual, lower prices, with patrons who are mostly locals and a younger crowd. Food is always good, and they're great about substituting if you have a request they can fulfill. The only downside is it can get a littler nosey, but it's a comfortable place with great food and drinks, so if noise bothers you, avoid weekend nights and periods of big televised sporting events.
Loud, but great service and food
So amazing. I will definitely be coming back.
Great food, brilliant service, best deserts. It has been a special place for us
Food was great! Will come back again.
Food was actually very good and reasonable. The service was quite good considering how packed the place was. Tables were too close together, however the music was SO LOUD, we could not talk whatsoever and totally ruined our evening. I really wanted to like it here but would never go back for that reason.
Visiting any Gold Coast restaurant during the holidays is probably not the best idea: this one was packed. Our server, however, was very attentive and made our evening quite nice. I've eaten here quite a few times. The food is consistently good but not anything to swoon over. In fact, my friends & I all ordered salads, as the menu was a bit limited.
This was the first time any of us had been to this restaurant. The food was pretty good. The mac & cheese and trufle fries were delicious. My husband had the fried chicken and it was just ok. I had the salmon and it was very good, very slightly undercooked but that's definitely better than overcooked. It was a neat atmosphere but it was loud. It wasn't a problem for us but if someone is wanting a nice quiet dinner, this is not the place. In addition, we were seated at a very small table in front of the fire place. Our table was teetering at first but the waiter got down on the floor and fixed the wobble. That was really appreciated! There were also larger parties on both sides of us. The seating is definitely more on the cramped side. Overall, we had a good experience though. I could see stopping in the bar for drinks at another point in time. It probably won't make it on my must-go-to list of restaurants.
Great! We’ve gone here a lot and always love it!
I’ve been to Lux Bar several times with family and friends, and it’s always a VERY loud, energetic dining experience -perfect if you have a boisterous toddler in tow, which we did. The service is terrific - drinks come fast, water bottles are endless, and the bread basket arrives almost immediately, and stays full until entrees touch down, which is surprisingly quick given the ever-present full house. The dinner menu doesn’t disappoint if you’re looking for a varied selection of entrees
The food and service was excellent! The noise level was loud!
Birthday brunch was nice
Excellent choice for our casual birthday brunch. Good food (omelettes and salads our preferred choices, but could have easily gone with the sandwiches fries and homemade chips), lively atmosphere, nice selection of wines and beers, very attentive service. The noise level is high. But a cool space.
Burger too well done. Friend’s main course and appetizer arrived at same time.
On Saturday Dec 1st, the dark-haired host working brunch was as cold as ice: abrupt, disinterested,
perfunctory, without an ounce of grace or warmth. She should not be working there as all else is great usually.
Very good food and service, but they were running 30 minutes late on 6:30 reservations!
Great happy hour specials, friendly staff and yummy food
Great service and delicious food
Best French toast I’ve ever had
