Lury delivers a unique approach to creative, ingredient-led cooking, drawing on British and Burgher heritage. The Burghers of Sri Lanka developed their own culinary style combining their European ancestry with the ingredients of Sri Lanka. Drawing on Jack’s British, European and Sri Lankan heritage our kitchen serves a unique tasting menu inspired by ingredients, memory and culture. We serve a set menu comprising 10-12 dishes that reflect our ethos and the best produce available on any given day.

Our set menu for June will be entirely focused on fish and will not contain any meat. However please note that all other months we do not offer alternative pescatarian or vegetarian menus.

As we are a small team, please note we serve only our set menu, we do not offer pescatarian or vegetarian alternatives at this time. Additionally we are unable to cater for most allergies. If you have any queries concerning dietary restrictions please contact us prior to booking.

Please note that we do not offer alternative pescatarian or vegetarian menus and cannot cater to most allergies so contact us before booking if you have any allergies you wish to discuss. We are open for dinner from Thursday to Saturday for Dinner and also Saturdays for lunch. We serve a 10-12 course set menu to be taken by all guests at the table priced at £65. All our guests are seated at 7pm for dinner and 12:30pm for lunch, so we ask you to please arrive promptly. IMPORTANT: To complete your booking, follow the steps on the page and enter your card details when prompted. You may be directed to your bank to confirm your card; after that, please return to the booking page to review your reservation, agree to the restaurant’s terms, and click 'Book'. A confirmation email will be sent once your booking is complete. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@luryrestaurant.com. From August 2025 our price will be increasing to £74 per person.

This is a small and intimate space with 12 covers when we were there. It is a tasting menu (primarily fish dishes in June), and we were served eight amazing plates, plus two snacks and petit fours. The tastes were truly delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning to try other menus.

We’ve been to Lury a few times now and every time it’s a fab experience, we love it! The menu has something that sets itself apart from others for miles around. It’s so good to see such a quality restaurant spring up in the not so salubrious surroundings. Bravo!

An absolutely amazing night with unbelievable food - perfect for a special occasion and some of the best food I have tasted in Hastings, we can't wait to go back!

The whole experience was lovely and the food was delicious. I'm not a fan of seafood, and it was a very seafood heavy menu, but it was all cooked si nicely that I didn't mind at all!

What can I say? The pared down menu descriptions give only a little away of the delights to follow. Dish after imaginative dish, created with precision and flair, every mouthful à delight, we just kept looking at each other, saying wow. There is a short drinks menu, with one cocktail, an arrack old fashioned (could be my new favourite drink!), a few wines which, although neither of us are great wine buffs, I’m sure are thoughtfully curated and some soft options. My partner would have liked to see maybe one beer option available, although he did seem to enjoy his wine. All in all, one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten and I’ve had the pleasure of eating at à fair few “starred” restaurants in my time. The service was lovely and we appreciated the relaxed vibe. À great addition to the Hastings dining scene. We’ll definitely be looking forward to a return visit.

Lury is one of the best fine dining experiences I’ve ever had! The set menu is roughly ten courses, each one innovative and full of incredible flavour, and clearly made with passion. I strongly recommend the Arrack old fashioned as an accompaniment. The decor is warm, modern and tasteful and our service was wonderful throughout. I will be coming back soon!

Fabulous set tasting menu in a small and intimate setting. Every dish was a work of art and tasted as good as it looked. The drinks list was short but hit the spot - it's really nice not to be overwhelmed with choice sometimes! Service was friendly and efficient without being intrusive. Highly recommended - we'll certainly visit again to enjoy another great meal and see how the dishes change with the seasons.

An excellent experience on the South coast to try out Lury (and we will be looking to come back soon!) Our table of six was excellently taken care of with our server engaging at the right level to not feel intrusive. Extra checks on the two nut allergies on our table to ensure everyone was happy was much appreciated as well! Standout dishes include the Mas Paan (think curry filled bread) and one of the best scallops I've ever eaten accompanied by a crab sauce. Service and drinks offering was equally splendid. As someone who doesn't drink, the apple juice they provided didn't intrude on the flavours of the meal and the wine went down a storm with my fellow guests. We found it refreshing that the chef, who does all the cooking on his own, brought out some of the dishes as well, with his nuggets of information helping us to learn more about the dishes' origins Excited to come back soon and see what new dishes Lury cooks up in the future

We had an incredible meal at Lury, with flavours and dishes we had never seen or tasted before that blew us away. We were a table of 6 and to produce such amazing and precise food for all of us at the same time was very impressive. Particular highlights were the mas paan, turmeric gnocchi and scallop dishes. The space itself is tranquil and welcoming, allowing you to relax and feel at home for 10 courses of pure delight. We’re very lucky to have found Lury so early on and will most definitely be returning very soon while we can as I’m sure bookings will be flying in!
