The food and atmosphere are great! The service is not so great. We have been there twice over the past couple months and both times the server was not friendly or attentive.
The food was great, our waitress was pleasant. The ambiance is a little eclectic; I wouldn’t be surprised if the furnishing purchases were on sale and they decided to try to make everything work. An old church feel with pews, paper ball light fixtures (a modern thing), large plastic lures, with beach theme drapes. Just weird. The outside of the building is wonderful and looks elegant/expensive place to dine, then the inside feels like I could dress like I got off a boat. I just wish the pricy food matched with the ambiance.
6 bucks for a basket of bread is an insult when you spend and average of 35 for an entree. Halibut 2 thick s 1 meal was cold Mango salsa halibut not a winner. Sushi good Calamari was awesome Sea food stew awesome
We have eaten at Lure at least 5 times
The food has been very good and the service as well. Our favorite dish is the Walleye. Will keep going back
The food was terrific, but they misjudged the time we needed to eat our appetizers and everything was on the table at the same time! Happily, the waiter returned and removed our dinners to the kitchen while we finished off our salads.
We were lucky to find that LURE was open on a Sunday night as they usually are not. We were seated inside the porch and it was very nice. They were kind and patient with my 11 year old son and had a good kids menu. He had the chicken strips. My husband and I shared the mussels for a starter. They were so good. The broth was amazing. We wish they had served it with a spoon or some crusty bread to finish the broth with! My husband had the Seafood Pan Roast. He loved it. It was filled with scallops, shrimp and sausage. Almost like a jambalaya. I had the Seafood Pasta with an amazing white sauce. It wasn't too thick like many are. The drink I had was a Pomegranate Jalapeno Mule. It was very good! We were very happy with our experience and would highly recommend.
What an amazing seafood meal! Highly recommend as the atmosphere was nice, private and again, the blackened salmon was amazing!
Excellent dinner for my husband’s Birthday!! He ordered the crab nachos and I ordered the Summer Salad. The waiter asked if I wanted chicken with it. It was delicious with an Apple Vinaigrette. We also ordered the cornbread. It was at least a 10” long with a dollop of butter. I also ordered a blueberry lemon drop. The service was great and we will definitely be coming back!!
Overall meal was pretty good. A few things to improve. No longer serving bread with dinner, that's an extra. The veggie with the meal was not good - broccoli was overcooked and cold, but the steak was very good and drinks were good too.
This restaurant was recommended to us. It was delicious! Great service and very helpful waitress. We sat out on the enclosed porch that faced the parking lot. It was so nice, great ambiance. The food was amazing! We will be going back to Lure next time we go to Door County!
Food was delicious. The small bites could have been a dinner if you wanted a light meal. We had a small bite plate and a dinner and it was amazing. Interesting flavors and drinks were great too!
The food was mediocre. The spice level in the seafood dish that we had was to overpowering for the flavors of delicate seafood. It merely got lost. The pork cutlets were (ok). Could’ve used more plum sauce to balance out the dryness of the dish.
Everything and everyone were excellent. Maria was great as were our meals. Lure is one of our favorites
Restaurant was not busy. Felt rushed. Food was bland. Expected more. However the key lime pie was awesome.
First time at the Lure and it won't be the last. Food and service was stellar.
Good, not great. Website implied a bit more of a fine dining atmosphere to go with prices. While not eating out a great deal currently they were the least sensitive to COVID precautions of anywhere we did try.
I have been to this restaurant under two different ownerships. The food has always been good to very good. The thing that I really do not like is the atmosphere. It is loud and does not really have a vibe. It is trying too hard maybe? The thing that saves it is that the food is really good and the drinks are also very good.
I would recommend with some qualifications
The ambiance of this restaurant is similar to a diner. It’s loud, bright and there’s a lot of foot traffic if you’re sat in certain parts of the dining area. The service was good, which something we’ve struggled to find, but the food was hit or miss. The fish fry was wet and the breading soggy. The steak was cooked perfectly to the order, but I should have requested the wine-based sauce to be on the side since I found it to be salty and ruin the natural flavor of the steak. Overall, an expensive meal for an underwhelming experience.
Very nice atmosphere and wonderful food.
Service and overall experience was just ok. Nothing special about it. Food was good!
Overall, we did not have a great experience with this establishment. The service was adequate but other than that all other aspects fell well below expectations. Our seafood pasta that we ordered was very overcooked and bland. For the price, we were highly disappointed with the quality especially with the condition of the shrimp and scallops. We also made a reservation in advance and got stuck in the back of restaurant by the kitchen doors, with no view of the main area.
I was a single and treated as such. Received very little attention. Ordered the Halibut with rice and Asian coleslaw. Halibut was dry and the rice was stuck together and barely eatable. Asian coleslaw was excellent. When the waiter finally showed up I commented that the rice was awful. He deducted $5 from my bill and quickly dropped the check on the table and walked away. I guess no dessert tonight.
I was attracted by the clever restaurant name and upon reviewing the menu, knew I was “hooked”! My whitefish features a generous portion, half of which I took home. Sweet potato fries were tasty, but I should have switched to broccoli, next time. My husband enjoyed the perch dinner. Our Pinot Gris was well chilled and very smooth. We will definitely recommend and return!
Lovely fall evening on patio with great drinks and wonderful food. Service was excellent on a busy night! We will be back .
My husband said this was the best streak he had in his life. It literally was melt in your mouth. Very pleased.
The food was really good and the wait staff as well as bartenders were all great to deal with. The reservation and process getting seated was a bit chaotic but they worked thru it well .
Great food, atmosphere, service, and the adhered to all social distancing. Very nice evening for my friend and I!
Amazing! Great ambiance, nice outdoor heaters and great service. Our food was great, too. Highly recommend the wonderful crab nachos-fantastic!
The crab nachos were good, loved the queso. The spring rolls were fine, didn't love the slaw, which was unfortunate since it came with my meal. The crab halibut was excellent, and the pork katsu was giant, maybe just a tad overdone, but i feel like I could have gotten that anywhere, i should have ordered up a bit. All in all in the covid-sphere, they did a good job with the patio and heaters. Not too many weekends left up here to eat outside. Service was adequate, not bad, just nothing exceptional. Food came out nice and quick, but we were pretty early, too.
We went to Lure for our anniversary. Everything was delicious!! We started with spring rolls and enjoyed crab cakes and halibut for our main course. Outdoor seating was lovely.
On the recommendation of a friend, we dined at Lure recently. We had a reservation (highly recommend) and were seated at the reserved time. Our table ordered crab cakes, shrimp tempura, mussels and walleye. The food was good, but nothing exceptional. We dined at the sister restaurant, Chop, the night before, so our expectations were high. We all agreed that Chop was better than Lure.
Everything was wonderful. Great service. Really we totally loved our evening
The food was very mixed. The calamari was delicious. However, my husband ordered lump crab cakes, and when they came they were definitely not lump crab meat. Instead, they were small pucks of fried shredded crab. I ordered the shrimp tempura sushi roll, which was very gummy and had way too much rice. For dessert, my husband ordered cherry pie, which was clearly not homemade. The crust was heavy and undercooked. Sort of surprising in Door County, which is all about cherries.
We live here so have been here many times. They offered an early dinner menu which we took advantage of (3 course dinner for $21.95). Requested outside seating. Very busy. Masks required by all. They posted suggested time lengths based on how many in your party to keep people moving thru. Food was very good- entres leaned heavily on seafood- no gluten free noticed. Biggest disappointment was the service. Don't know if they were short handed in servers and/or cook staff. Everything was very slow. Sat and waited for everything. Waitress forgot twice to bring our beverages! We would have been out quicker had they kept up with their end. 1st time we've encountered this problem. If you go make sure you have a reservation!
Roxie Meile is an amazing waitress! Great food and service.
Waited 1 1/2 hours to get the main course. Asked for the garden room and was taken to the parking lot.
We were excited about our first visit to Lure because we love their Chop restaurant and actually had dinner there the night before. Let me say the service was excellent and I would have no complaints except for the quantity of food. My husband and I ordered the Halibut. It was $32.95 and it seriously was the size of a Snickers bar. No rolls on the table for anyone. No salad comes with dinner. Just a tiny piece of fish served with a cold and bland slaw served on the plate with the same sticky rice they use to make their Sushi. Our son ordered the crab crusted Halibut and it was slightly larger and was served with 2 small red potatoes for $39.95. We definitely won’t be back and will stick with Chop.
I will be a return customer !
Had a lovely meal and our server was fun.
Very nice dinner. We sat in a booth and were able to hear the conversation which is sometimes hard when you’re with a group at dinner. All the fish dinners were excellent especially the Walleye
