Lure Fishbar - Chicago
We look forward to hosting you!
From as soon as you walk in the door to the moment you leave, it is nothing but too notch service. The music playing was great, the tasting menu is an amazing value for the food you get! Matthew is the waiter to request 😉 Cannot wait to go back.
The ambiance was amazing. So amazing that i have to go back. I was recommended the espresso martini which was the best I’ve had.
Food and service were excellent. We had apps and sushi and everything was great. Our favorites were the caviar deviled eggs and the shrimp tempura.
My wife and I stopped in here as it was close to an event we were attending. We walked in and liked the ambiance and the general mood of the place. It was rather quite and seems a bit slow but it was a Tuesday night.
The water was well versed in the menu and made some good recomendations for the deviled eggs and crispy sushi rice. I was however a bit surprised by the Saki she recommended. I did say I like a bit fruit forwards but not super sweet. The Saki she recommended was incredibly sweet like a Moscato. The next one I tried was much more to my liking.
The sushi was good. There were two rolls that seemed unique and we did enjoy both of them a lot but the rest I would say would be good quality sushi rolls but nothing outstanding.
The only negative we had was the waiter forgot to put in our Deviled Egg apatizer and played it off as if was just taking longer than normal. It came after we were done with our sushi.
Absolutely incredible! The food - the service -the ambiance. Totally going back for the sushi, red snapper for 2, and so much more. LOVE this place!
What a pleasant experience. Probably my favorite ambiance of any restaurant in Chicago. Clean, quiet, wonderful staff and great food! We will be back (especially for the drinks!)
A lovely dinner with thoughtful service in a warm atmosphere.
Service was hood - food was excellent
Arrived early for our 5:30 reservation and the restaurant has just opened. There were no customers even there and we asked if we could get seated early- the hostess was extremely unfriendly and seemed annoyed that we were even there. She never smiled or engaged with us or any other customer - she should not be a hostess.
Phenomenal Food!!! Superb Service!!!! Great Atmosphere!!!!
Arrived in Chicago on Thanksgiving day and wanted a taste of that traditional Thanksgiving meal. Lure did not disappoint. 3 course meal was amazing and the paired wines were well chosen. Next time back in Chicago, I will be scheduling another visit to try the Sushi selection.
Everything we ordered was delicious - sushi, oysters, crispy rice, bucatini, OH and the red snapper - SO delicious!
Service was incredible & so fun! Highly recommend for a romantic dinner or a group outing!
Enjoyable experience in a nice setting with many tasty options.
Four of us had salad, appetizers and four different entrees. All very good!!
In one word: AWFUL. We were shown to our table roughly 35 minutes later than our reserved time. The table was in a separate space, not in the main dining room, that had the ambiance of a hotel's conference room, a plain long table for our party of 4, with bright lighting and loud music that echoed in the sparsely furnished space. Service was slower than slow, took more than 20 minutes to get a plate of oysters and then we waited 15 minutes to have the plate cleared. And the food was mediocre at best. In all, it was a very poor choice which we will not repeat and would not recommend it to anyone.
Wonderful! Everyone was really special. We were celebrating my partner’s birthday and he loved it.
Food was amazing!
I went to dinner with my husband and a couple that had not experienced Lure before. It was a wonderful dining experience
For all of us.
Lovely restaurant. Definitely on the expensive side, but the food was great and the wait staff was very attentive!
Food was great but felt staff needed to be a bit more attentive. We made reference on our reservation that it was a birthday celebration but nothing was mentioned. We ordered a dessert and again mentioned the birthday so they did put a message on the plate. Disappointed that there wasn’t any type of bread service. Might be cause it’s still pretty new.
Our server, Ron, yes - he was great! The food…so so. The pork chop could definitely been marinated prior. The bulgogi was on multiple entrees; don’t over play the bulgogi. For the hype, the previously seen Excellent reviews, the cooks / chef could definitely take a step back and add a bit more passion to the dishes.
I am truly am grateful to the manager and all the staff. What a remarkable job and what unbelievably delicious food so kudos to the Chef and their team. And also am grateful that you were able to accommodate us as we had to leave a bit early - thank you very very much.We will be back soon Best wishes, Omar
This was my 2nd visit in the last month. The food is absolutely phenomenal and the service is outstanding. Just as good as the NYC location. I will most definitely be back again.
Nice place for seafood. Quiet and low lighting. Relaxing. Branzino was very good.
The broiled oysters were very good. The rolls my boyfriend and I ordered - at our waitress’s suggestion - were ordinary at best and waaay overpriced. Not a good experience.
Everything was absolutely incredible, from the drinks, to the service, to the food. The food is just as good as the NYC location. I will definitely be back.
Great attentive service, excellent sushi and branzino. Noisy but not enough to squelch conversation. Beautiful interior. Dessert menu was limited and ordinary.
We read mixed reviews so did not know what to expect. The food and drinks were great. We really enjoyed the crispy red snapper for two. A bit of heat and very flavorful. Good selections of saki and drinks. Our server Ron was very attentive. A little pricy but worth it.
Waiter and busboy were fantastic! Hostess was curt and rude when we asked for a stand alone table in an almost empty restaurant. Food was top notch.
The food was good, but overpriced compared to other places. Each oyster was $3.75 a piece, 3 pieces of crispy sushi rice $19, broiled oysters $24. Our favorite wine was 3x normal price. Service was ok, but once it started to fill up we were neglected. We even mentioned something to our server - compared to other couples or larger parties they were definitely getting better service.
The cocktail with tequila, sake and coconut milk was great and the wine glasses were very cool, reminiscent of a different era.
The dessert with burnt marshmallow was great and the presentation was beautiful. I will go back for dessert and drinks at the bar one day.
Probably understaffed. Been there several times and food is always good. Bad experience this time. Took over 35 minutes to get our entrees ( none of which had to be cooked). Colin the manager came over at waiters request and when I explained the delay he didn’t really seem apologetic. I would have accepted any excuse he offered but got no satisfaction. Overall services is chaotic and hardly attentive. Seems a little out of control. Live on the neighborhood and have enjoyed the NU restaurant. Hope they make it but they need to get their act together.
Excellent service from server, nice menu, beautiful room. First impression: Hostess should smile and be much warmer.
Menu: expensive! Good variety. Tuna tataki- delicious. Lobster salad-ok little fishy. Generous portion. Sushi just ok. Little bland. Fish was delicious with citrus brown butter served with yummy sides of mashed and spinach. Side mushrooms were good, too.
Overall, nice resto. Service was top notch.
Great food, good service. Waiter unfamiliar with any wine or cocktails. Would have been helpful.
An absolutely perfect night with friends I haven’t seen for 4 years. Had not one complaint, will be raving about it for a long time.
Overall, a decent restaurant. Only complaint was when we arrived for our reservation, they said table wasn’t ready for 10 min, so we should sit at bar for a drink (even with empty tables). Didn’t mind since I wasn’t in a rush and wanted a drink anyway....then ordered a spicy margarita. Got the bill and they used the most expensive tequila available and the drink was ~$60 without even asking what tequila I wanted. Pretty sketchy if you ask me...so BEWARE!
Sushi was amazing. Drinks were terrible. Who makes a Manhattan with Amaro?
Rest was over priced. This place is great as long as it's other people's money
Ambience is nice and location is nice but mediocre food and drinks especially for the price
Everything was too oily even the veggies such as the cauliflowers but especially the bucatini. The server was alright, he only came around to ask us if we wanted drinks and kept pressuring us to order drinks although the two out of three of us ordered two rounds of cocktails each. Sushi is also very pretty mediocre. Rolls are better than the sushi/sashimi platter .
Server was good. Hosts unfriendly and not welcoming. Food was disappointing. Won’t be back.
The service is out of this world !!!!!
This was definitely the restaurants first week so they’re still figuring things out but the overall experience was not good. The noise in the restaurant is SO loud and weird spa like music that is super dark and introspective rather than happy - the ambiance and vibes are also dark and it’s too dimly lit.
The food was super overpriced for the quality being quite average and very small portions - won’t be going back.
