Great meal!!! Best pasta dish that I've had in years!!
Absolutely terrible service. Sat there for 20 minutes without even being offered a drink. Food took forever to arrive and was then not correctly prepared. Not going back.
Great service and good food. Even their little bread before the meal itself was really good. Good pastas.
Our reservation was at 9:30 but we weren’t seated until 10:10. We sat at the bar waiting- you guys should thinking about comping a drink if you’re going to make people wait that long. That being said- our waitress Ann Marie is the best of the best. Every time I dine here, she goes above and beyond to give us the absolute best experience. We love her!!
Warm, efficient service and creative, authentic Italian dishes -- the octopus and porchetta appetizers, the scallops, squid in pasta, even the table bread delish -- lovely selection of Italian wines, in a charming setting. Such a discovery. Everyone enjoyed; I've been raving about it. Back soon.
It was a wonderful dinner before watching shen yun. They just changed up the menu a little but it was still good!
Girls reunion. So fun!
Loved all the food . The wait staff was not the best. Had to wait for water, wine and bread. Served three entrees and had to wait on the last one. We still all enjoyed ourselves but service needs improvement
Portion to price ratio could be slightly improved in my opinion.
Great evening with excellent food and service.
Great place...I went on Good Friday and was limited on menu choices. The next time I am in town I will def be back...the cheese plate was amazing as a starter, we enjoyed the pizza (minus the meat). I loved all the Italian accents; both verbal and decor accents. So quaint and small Italy feel!!! Thank you AnneMarie!
The food was amazing and the chef made us a special appetizer at our request. Our server was also phenomenal- all in all a great experience to celebrate a friend visiting town.
Everything was great, except the table for two we had on second floor was cramped
This was our third time dining at Lupo Verde. We very much enjoyed out first two visits. Our last
last dining experience at Lupo Verde left not wanting to go back again. It took us way too long to get appetizers and entrees. The food was not up to our previous dining experience. Its a shame, we liked Lupo Verde.
Very tasty food, great atmosphere. Our favorite place on 14th street .
Food, service, ambiance were excellent. The dead rose on the table almost ruined the meal. It was sad, very sad , quite a disappointment. It would be better no rose than a dead plant on our lovely dinner table. We will return and hope to have a beautiful rose on our table
Honestly, I don't care how good the food is - and it is V V good here - if you have ppl paying $160 for dinner for two, the service shouldn't totally suck. The waiter was amiable enough, if a bit bumbly. But things took forever. A Makers on the rocks took easily 10 minutes, even though we were sitting 5 feet from the bar. A glass of wine took almost until my friend finished his entrée, even though he ordered it while the appetizers were still on the table. And there was a LONG lag between courses - like 15, 20 minutes. If I'd been dining with almost anyone else, it would have been agony; as it was, it was just annoying. Really annoying.
Our server, Ann Marie, and all the staff made the experience wonderful with excellent recommendations and service.
Loved everything about this restaurant. The service was fantastic, as was the food. The atmosphere was so cozy and romantic -- we could have sat there all night. We'll be back!
Unfortunately our most recent trip to Lupo Verde was not pleasant at all. This had become one of our favorites in DC because the food is excellent. We were pleased to find that the restaurant was only moderately busy when we arrived, yet our whole dinner felt rushed. We typically spend 1.5-2 hours here, yet we were in and out in 45 minutes. The waiter seemed more interested in turning our table than providing good service. To top it off, after we signed the check he picked it up off the table before we left, reaching between my arms to get it. We got the message and left right away and probably won't return. There are too many great places in DC where you can spend $100 on a good date night to run the risk of having another one ruined by hasty service.
Great food, very good specials, can’t wait to try the soon coming spring menu.
We haven't been to Lupo Verde in a long time, and we're delighted to find that it is as good as we remembered it. The food and service were excellent, and because we had an early dinner reservation, it was very quiet and conducive to conversation. The only negative aspect of the evening were the expensive cocktails. We ordered two regular martinis, and they were overpriced at $14 and not very generous. We won't be ordering them again.
We took clients to the restaurant two times during our visit in Washington DC. The food was great. Best pasta dishes ever!
Excellent experience. Amazing food. The table took 20 minutes to be available and we had to wait standing. The waiter who serves the water is unkind. The others is wonderful.
we had the chef cook for us, everything was super delicious... Thanks chef
Great! I have family in Bologna and appreciate homemade pasta that is cooked perfectly and rustic sauces. Gelato lovely. Excellent wait staff.
great dinner , thanks to Antonio and Chef Matteo
Best Italian food I’ve had since relocating from NYC. Pasta is great and service is same.
I do dinner here for business and personal and only get positive feedback.
Went to Lupo for my anniversary , everything was perfect , loved the atmosphere and the food... we will definitely going back soon
Foodie Friend visiting
Great food and service, priceless atmosphere... we will be back soon
This is a fabulously authentic Italian restaurant on vibrant 14th St corridor. the cheeses and cured meats are Devine and the pasta is fabulous.
Another great family meal, the Lamb special was superb.
Great authentic Italian restaurant with a really cool atmosphere. Great service with incredible food. Loved our visit.
the best- food, service, comfort and very much like being among friends at home
Consistently one of my favorite Italian spots in the city. And Enzo is the best waiter ever!
Excellent food and wine. Service was extremely good. I will come back.
great night, let the chef cook for you , you won’t be disappointed.... Duck confit special was superb .. Pastas always top notch. Rabbit ragú the best flavor ever.
In short, the food was incredibly disappointing:
Our Polpo & Burrata starter was short on the octopus, may have lacked burrata entirely, with the rest tasting as if it was scooped from a pre-made batch and re-heated.
We all selected pasta dishes for our mains: Garganella Vaccinara, Gnochi Verde, and Fusilli Campani. In each dish, the pasta tasted like grocery-store variety -- plus, the Fusilli Compani inexplicably used a thick spaghetti instead of fusilli. The problems went well beyond the pasta itself.
The Vaccinara ("rabbit ragout" that night replaced the listed oxtail) and Verde tasted as if they had been scooped from a pre-prepared bucket and reheated to the lukewarm temperature at which they were served -- not to mention, the Vaccinara's rabbit, minced in a way that hardly qualifies as "authentic," could well have been minced turkey. The Campani's ragu all'Avellinese was not the thick and flavorful sauce expected, but instead a rather watery and fairly tasteless tomatoey blend.
Adding to the frustration, our entrees arrived midway through our starter -- not only indicative of poor table service, but also perhaps indicative of the lack of care and effort that went into preparing those orders.
This was a terrible disappointment, and particularly embarrassing for us, as we actually felt the need to apologize to our out-of-town guests for the choice of restaurant on their one night in town.
