Food was delicious and the service was great! Definitely will go back
Not sure if it is or not, but seemed like authentic Italian. We all ordered a different handmade pasta and they were all fantastic. No bad choices. Our eggplant parmigiana appetizer was delicious too. Great night out! And ambience is like an Italian grotto.
Wondering what ever happened to table cloths or better yet, clean tables. Food was OK — not amazing — but acceptable. Also wondering why t-shirts are appropriate attire for servers. For a restaurant that bills itself as “authentic Italian,” the bread is sub-par.
The food was good but the service was TERRIBLE. We sat at our table without being approached by (many) waitstaff who walked by for several minutes, several times, perhaps because we were at a bar table? But in that we were a three top who ate a full meal and spent a good bit of money, one would hope to have received better service. The food was pretty good overall, except for the almond cake, which was so dry as to be inedible.
Lupo Verde is the next best thing to eating in Italy. We dined there to celebrate a friend's birthday. The bread, wine, cheese, salad, pasta, and dessert was amazing with friendly service. I can't wait to eat there again.
Ordered the ny strip steak, asked for medium came out near rare. Asked get it seared a little longer and came back like well done beef jerky. Waiter didn’t bother to ask how it was the second time around. Only positive was they removed it from the bill after we told the manager of the poor service/quality of food. Quite disappointed with the experience.
Food is always top notch. Service was fair, but, no real complaints. Wine selection was very good. Definitely a restaurant favorite in D.C.
Excellent in every way
We had a great experience at Lupo Verde. Could not find one vegan item on the menu, however! The mosquitos were out and they had bug spray available Overall the food was great and staff was very friendly.
Not a good experience. We ordered, waited for awhile and then a food runner appeared witH our two pasta dishes. We asked about our burrata appetizer and he asked if we wanted him to take the pastas back to the kitchen! So we had the burrata as a kind of dessert rather than have old pasta as the main course.
Portions were very small. I left hungry.
The worst part was the general filthiness of the place. Everything you touched - the railing on the stairs, the bathroom doors all felt sticky and dirty. Didn't give one a good sense of what was going in the kitchen
We wanted to dine at the terrace. We had to wait a bit, but finally they manage to get a table go us
This was our second time at Lupo Verde. Wait staff and management are very nice and make real efforts to be welcoming. Atmosphere is fantastic with the restaurant being in an old renovated row house. The food was good but not incredible. My eggplant parmesan was warm (rather than hot). My Dad was moderately happy with his pasta. My Mom's fish was exceptional. Service was friendly but we ended up with a wrong dish and they seemed overwhelmed. I gave them four stars instead of five because there were some issues. But it is still and very interesting, friendly and delicious restaurant.
One of my favorite first-time dining experiences in all of DC. Service was fantastic and food was delicious. Couldn’t possibly recommend more highly!!!
Pretty good food, not quite worth the value and the portions were smaller but the staff and ambiance and the space itself is amazing.
Enjoyable experience. Deff order by the bottle to save
Great homemade pasta, loved the outdoor patio
Poor service and undercooked pasta. Since the server nor manager ever stopped by after the food was delivered, never got a new meal. Cheese from Italy was good however. Will not return nor recommend
The food was great!
We had a great meal, the entire experience was wonderful. Would highly recommend
We had a fabulous evening a same for food.
"Old school Italian"..this is what my mother said when I bought her at this restaurant. Food is fresh and homemade. The artichoke is a must to have. Branzino was delicious. Beautiful presentation! Wine and handcraft cocktails. Homemade desserts..why wait..hidden gem in Washington D.C.
Service was spectacular - I forget her name, but she has a martini glass tattoo.
Super cute spot, if you're able to get a table upstairs in the corner then you'll love it!
Great time sitting outside on the patio. A little overpriced for the portions but excellent quality.
Outstanding food and drinks! Fried artichoke is the best appetizer---must try!
Brunch menu is confusing. It says $35 per person for one app, one side, and two mains.....what it really means is $35 per person to split one app, one side, and two mains. It should specify at the top that you’re splitting; it only specified at the bottom you’d be splitting drinks. I’m fine with splitting two mains, but you should be able to get two apps and two sides too. We ended up doing the a la carte brunch menu; food was good but took a long time. Service overall was not good. I’ve been a server and I can usually justify if service is slow because of high volume, but this was not the case. The waitress stood behind the bar talking while we waited the whole time, whether it was for water or the food or the check. Overall would not recommend
The restaurant setting was cute and intimate with great outdoor seating. The prosciutto buratto with arugula was the perfect appetizer pairing with the flavorful agnolotti stuffed with braised short rib. The beef jus was divine with the agnolotti. If you're in a mood for meat flavors, this is it. The donuts were a solid dessert choice.
Service was great and we got great wine suggestions.
Love the atmosphere at Lupo, and the food is always top notch. Great drinks as well. Highly recommend!
The food here is delicious and the service is impeccable. Not only are they friendly and attentive, but the server brought my husband an extra main because he thought the fish serving was too small for a portion. That never happens! Such a delight to dine there.
Brunch at Lupo Verde was underwhelming. The tiramisu French toast tasted like it was soaked in bitter coffee and the scamorza was tasty, but small.
Would not recommend this restaurant. We arrived at 7:15 for our 7:15 reservation. We weren’t seated for 30 minutes. Once we were seated, it took more than 20 minutes for someone to even bring bread. At 8:15, an hour after we got there, we had just placed our orders. Food was good but relatively expensive for portion size.
the food was terrific, and the wait staff attentive and helpful. we definitely will return.
note that this restaurant apparently follows the idiotic policy of insisting that everyone appear before allowing anyone to sit down, even when you have a reservation (but allowing walk-ins to sit immediately).
Wonderful atmosphere, dining experience, and quality food - uniquely prepared from various regions of Italy. Angelita, served with excellence. Opportunities for improvement include appropriate phone communication with customers, ability to leave phone messages, and ability to speak with restaurant representative.
Lovely and healthy Italian food. Recommend the eggplant appetizer and the ravioli with asparagus, peas and mint. Ate outside on T street - vibrant street scene.
The best part of us experience was the server, I don’t remember her name but she had a short blond hair and she is tall and thin, she was amazing and the manager too, thank you :)
Not much in tea selections given it was brunch time but the waitstaff found some Earl Gray for my mom and we appreciated that. The food was delicious and the second floor was charming, sunny, and comfortable. We skipped the outdoor seating because it was a hot day but the patio is the prettiest on 14th St.
Was my second time here. My first experience was amazing. Food and service. This time i took my wife and was a disappointment. Service was mediocre. She was all over the place. She was focus more in the big party table. I guess $ count. We share a steak with my wife. Wasn’t good at all. I think i need to order pasta since is an Italian restaurant. Next time. I like the place and i will give another chance.
The food was outstanding and our waiter was very pleasant and gave us great recommendations on entree selections when we couldn't make up our minds! Not unreasonably priced for the area, but it probably better suited for special dates or occasions than a fast and casual dinner out.
