Lupo Verde - 14th St
While making your reservation please be aware that the restaurant provides seating on two floors. On the first floor we have high top tables which are community style seating for small groups or individual large party tables. The upstairs floor is a traditional dining room. Please let us know if you have a preference on where would you like to be seated when making your reservation. We will do our best to honor your request depending on availability of tables.
Friday and Saturday Dinner: 5:00pm - 12:00am; Bar stays open for an extra hour
Saturday-Sunday Brunch : 10:30am - 3:30pm
Really was disappointed with the incredibly poor service this time. Lupo Verde is one of my favorite restaurants so when they made us wait an hour for a reservation spot as well as just be incredibly slow and rude when we sat down, it was a true bummer. The food is incredible — if only the service matched.
Thats not for the public...😎
We had a reservation and arrived early, but had to wait for quite some time for a table to open up. The host was fantastic, gave us complementary champagne as we waited and when we did get a table they gave us a charcuterie plate gratis without making any sort of fuss over it- it just arrived as we were sitting down. The food was (an has been every time I have been) fantastic, service was great and the wine was incredible!
Really enjoyed our meal, but even with a reservation we had to wait for 40 mins for our table.
The waiter was not terribly knowlegeable about the menu.
Terrible brunch menu. Completely sub pronto what they normally offer.
I've made better (and warmer) food at home. The pasta itself was great, the gravy/sauce it came in tasted like it was from a jar.
Lovely place with fresh and tasty Southern Italian dishes and wines. A must have!
This is probably my favorite restaurant on 14th street, if not in all of DC! The menu is obviously fantastic, the wine list has some really great gems, and the waitstaff are all extremely knowledgeable. We always get a cheese board and give full creative liberty to our waiter, and they're always great about thoughtfully choosing the best selections to pair with our wine and entrées. It's a super cozy environment with great views of the street below, and it's fun but never SO fun that it's loud. Really cool date spot.
Delicious homemade Italian, lovely wines, attentive service. It is small, and the table we were at this visit had a wobbly bench, you must make reservations or dine early and sit at the bar (a pleasure whenever I've done so). It's my favorite neighborhood spot and I don't really want to let the word out!
The artichoke appetizer was delicious and our pasta courses were also. The noise level was manageable, thankfully, so I didn’t have to yell across the table when talking. Service was great as well. Will go again no doubt.
Casual, comfortable yet intimate atmosphere. Food was delicious from the chef's choice charcuterie to the scialatielli al Nero to the agnolotti del Plin. Even the bread basket had soft, delicious bread, not always a given. Will definitely return.
There was not a single moment when I was unhappy to be there. I had no expectations and was just going for a casual dinner with a friend. I discovered food that surprised me with culinary ideas, without being so far out that they were not comforting. We came late, and the staff was still very engaging and thoughtful. Absolutely perfect restaurant.
Love Lupo Verde! Quaint, beautiful restaurant with an amazing menu and wonderful food!
Food always seems a little too cold when it’s served.
Great service! Good food!
Great food and great service! It was a special treat and I’ll definitely be back.
Great authentic Italian food and atmosphere . Brunch menu was perfectly portioned and the champagne with homemade purees was delightful.
Made a reservation here for my birthday with friends ! It was the best time and food was great!
Great find. Excellent food and an insanely funny waiter from Miami by way of Tuscany. The wait was 30 minutes even though we had a reservation. It was worth it. Order the specials, whatever they are. Will be back
From pork chop to sea food to pasta, the food was authentic, excellently prepared, and delicious. The service was attentive and included detailed descriptions when requested. Many gluten free options were available for a member of our party.
We were a small group - 6 of us - celebrating a friend's birthday. We started with drinks at the downstairs bar then moved to a table upstairs. We wanted to start with a meat and cheese board, and the waiter offered to choose for us, so we let him go. We also ordered a salad to share at the time. When the charcuterie arrived, there was no explanation of the selections, and no salad. We had to track the waiter down to re-order the salad.
We ordered our meals and another round of drinks, this time the cocktails came out tasting completely different.
Main meals came... except for the birthday boy's pizza - his was the simplest meal, yet didn't come out. The waiter, instead of immediately going to check, stood around chatting with our guests and asking about additional drink orders. The rest of us sat waiting, too polite to eat while the birthday boy waited. Finally the waiter comes back and says the pizza fell on the floor and they're making a new one. There was no apology, simply a statement that they would make a new one. It only took 5 minutes for the new one to come out.
The rest of us proceeded to eat, the meals tasting decent but mostly overpriced for what they were (I eat out 4+ times a week). Our one guest had the steak and didn't want to make a scene until the rest of us noticed that his steak looked raw. We asked how he'd ordered it and it was supposed to be medium-rare - it was redder than rare (looked purple!).
The manager came out and offered to bring a new steak, and offered another order of eggplant parmesan appetizer that we had all enjoyed. They came out, and the second offering was comped (not the original order) but it was clear that the replacements were lower quality items - sinewy steak and crushed eggplant.
The dropped/late pizza for the birthday boy was never addressed. And it was not comped.
They did try to make it up with free dessert for the table, and it was good, but overall, a miserable experience for a dinner, let alone a birthday.
It was perfect. The food and the service were impeccable as usual!
Great food and good service as always, the barbers wine was particularly nice!
The home made pasta was sublime.
Great dining experience.
This was the worst experience we’ve had at Lupo. Usually it’s great but everything was bad tonight. especially the service. Less than stellar. Disappointing.
I want to love Lupo Verde, because everything I had was wonderful. That being said, I paid $24 for 3 scallops. They were perfectly cooked and delicious, but I mean, I was still quite hungry and after a $24 entree (plus a cheese platter I shared with friends as an app), I really shouldn't feel that way. Besides that, the ambiance is great, it is cozy and cute, would be a cute place for a date. The servers are a bit rushed and don't fully give you the attention you deserve as their guest, but I can get over that if the food is great quality & worth the price I am paying for it.
Very good food
I was disappointed by the Lupo Verde Brunch. I paid 85 $ with taxes for two for a mediocre avocado salad and a spaghetti carbonara and/or eggs plus a Tiramisu toast as appetizer. The food was average at best. The only plus is the bottle of Prosecco for the deal.
One of my favorite places in DC
We had been dying to try Lupo Verde and it did not disappoint. The food and drinks were beyond amazing. I highly recommend the Cacio E Pepe. The portion was small but phenomenal. The service leaves something to be desire - it seemed as though they cater to bigger groups more than couples. It was also incredibly cramped and loud upstairs where we sat, but the food made it all worth it.
Another great experience with the best of service and hospitality. I highly recommend this authentic Italian jewel of a find in a great neighborhood at 14th & T NW.
Our party arrived 11min late we had called the restaurant to say we would be 10 min late. When we got there the host could not have been more rude after his lecture we had the pleasure of bad service and mediocre food.
Wonderful evening with amazing food and atmosphere. Cured meats and cheese boards are awesome group start
Great food and service. Seated too close to another couple in a very quiet restaurant.
I've had many pleasant experiences at Lupo Verde, but our meal here the other night was somewhat odd. The food and drinks were wonderful as usual, but our waiter was extremely brusque. He rushed us to order seemingly as soon as we sat down, coming back immediately after taking our drink order to ask "what are you eating". We enjoyed our pasta, and then he brought dessert menus. When he came back to ask what we wanted for dessert, we told him we were going to pass on dessert and asked if we could have the check when he had a moment. His response was "really?" and then he walked away. It was very strange. He brought our check but then disappeared completely, until a different waiter noticed us and ran our cards for us. We weren't in a hurry but the whole interaction was very strange.
There were young children running around screaming everywhere, and the staff did not care about the comfort of other diners at all. All that you could hear was iPads playing games for the kids running rampant from their parents. Overall, it was not worth the money and was a terrible experience. I will not be back and have already discouraged everyone that I know from going.
Excellent Italian restaurant. Service is exceptional. Meal was delicious. Bar is spacious. Vibrant part of town.
Difficult evening—they were short staffed meals were very delayed but waiter and manager were excellent in their handling—they comped our dinners, two drinks and dessert—very apologetic
Food was excellent s great spot and we will return
Excellent food and exceptional service!
