I have wanted to dine here for quite awhile, this can sometimes lead to disappointment but NOT in this case! Lupa was more than I expected! We had the pasta tasting menu which is 5 courses of excellent pasta from carbonara to gnocchi with a ethereal tomato fennel sauce, each course was perfect. I couldn’t finish the last one as sad as this made me! The Italian wine list was very lovely, and sommelier chose for us perfectly.
The final course was a melt in your mouth blood orange sorbetto! This I finishes! It was spectacular!!
So glad we made this reservation!

Lupa won me over the first time i visited in august of 2017 with their carbonara. Best I've ever had. The entire meal, restaurant, patrons, staff - all a great experience. I'll be returning.

Went to Lupa for a romantic dinner with a special lady on a weekend getaway in NYC. The ambiance was exhilarating and service was responsive, courteous and knowledgeable. The food and wine was wonderful. A very memorable evening.

awful service, did not know who our waiter was, long waits, and attitude from hostess. Only thing good about this place is the food but because of lack of service would not ever nor recommend anyone from going to this place.

Honestly I’m from Rome and i don’t understand why they pretend to be roman..the waitresses the chef and the receptionists are nor romans and not even Italians and the owner is bastianich..zero roman blood.however the food is good..they have been wisely instructed...

The hostess was rude and dismissive, our server was very good, somolier spent more time chatting with staff at the service bar than paying attention to what was going on at guests tables. It was obvious that there was a new chef (1 month)!as the food was not on par with our previous experiences there. Very dissapointed but will still give Lupa another chance based on all of the excellent meals we’ve had there in the past.

Lupa is an old favorite of mine,
and food and selection was first
rate, no comparison in that department.

Service was a bit scattered the other day,
not bad, but we were not pampered as is
usually the case.

Meal was fine, but nothing extraordinary. They provided a nice birthday dessert for our friend, but the entrees were just ok. Weird that everything was a la carte.

I've had some excellent meals at Lupa. This time I saw a main dish of branzino on the Restaurant Week menu; asked the waiter if they were cutting corners on the menu, and he assured me that they were not--nice food. So since I wanted the branzino, I ordered the menu. The first course, a duck salad, had a harsh vinegar dressing, and the dessert, a chocolate goo, was not great chocolate and rather undistinguished. The branzino was nice, but I would NOT recommend ordering from the Restaurant Week menu there. A dud.
