Phenomenal food, every dish delicious especially the pulpo and baccala. Terrific service. One of our favorite eateries in all of Manhattan
outdoor seating quite hot but the food, service, and wine excellent, as always; never ever a bad meal at LUPA
A+ service, food and cocktails. Holding strong.
Yummy food. Tight seating arrangements but to be expected in a good Italian restaurant in this neighborhood. Pepe e cacio was delicious. Pesto was as well. Had 3 appetizers. All were delicious. Very enjoyable & yummy dinner.
Made reservations exactly 30 days before for our first time eating at Lupa. Our party of 5 was seated at a table the only fit 3 adults. The first waiter that we had did not tell us about the specials. Once water and wine glasses were added to the table, we had to ask to be moved so that our plates would fit. Waiter didn’t even acknowledge how uncomfortable we were. Once moved to a new table with a new waiter, we learned there were actually specials that evening. Too late, since we have already placed our order with the previous waiter. The food was good but don’t believe we will be back.
The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. There were 6 of us to celebrate a birthday/father’s day. We had a little of everything. We shared 4 starters - the prosciutto with buffala mozzarella, the chicken liver crostini, the frito misto and the special sweetbreads. The prosciutto and crostini were the stars. 4 of our group had different pastas which they all loved, 1 had oxtail and 1 had duck. The duck was incredible and there was so much of it, everyone had some. Would highly recommend for a special dinner where budget is not a problem!
Worst service I’ve ever experienced! We waited 45 minutes for a drink and right after we ordered a drink they brought us the check. They didn’t even ask if we wanted to order food (which we did as we were there for dinner). The hostess (especially her) and wait staff were so mean. Felt like they just didn’t even want us in the restaurant.
We had to wait over 30 mins for our table with no apology or real communication
The food is excellent. The service was excellent. The outside seating was like eating in storage unit. Dingy, musty Very disappointing.
I love the food but next time will not eat in the storage unit that they call outside dining
this visit was a disappointment. took my family for graduation as this used to be one my favorite restaurants. the waiter didn't know the menu. one pasta dish was served boiling hot the other one cold. It is sad to see how the good standard that the batali franchise used to have have is no longer there.
They seemed to forget we were there and waited well past our reservation while other couples showed up and were sat. Once seated it was about another 25 minutes until anyone spoke to us. Food itself was excellent except broccoli rabe which was too salty and inedible. Servers were nice overall and past amazing. Just felt bad to be forgotten.
The food was fantastic and the service was incredible. Our waiter was Michael Thomas Geary and he was absolutely amazing. We even got to meet the chef! (Chef James!) What a wonderful dining experience!
sat at the bar had an amazing meal and great conversation!
Food was great. Service was ridiculously slow. Wouldn’t come here if you don’t have the time for a 2-3 hour for dinner.
Food and service was amazing! Visiting from California and would definitely go back.
Only odd thing was when we arrived, we were told they needed to prepare our table - the restaurant was empty and all tables were set. They brought us to our table they had been preparing and there was an iced coffee and a laptop on the table 🤷🏻♀️ Other than that - everything was perfect.
Service was off last night. Took a very long time to order, to get cocktails, to get food. They forgot our entire first course. Too bad because food so good.
Just wonderful. First time dining here @Lupa. Hope to make it a perennial!
We expected much more. Pasta was average, we’ve tried much better dishes in neighboring restaurants. The duck was decent.
We had a wonderful lunch with attentive service. The food was excellent! We had prosciutto with burrata, octopus, crispy duck, and the spaghetti with truffles and grana Padano. They even had a delicious gluten free pasta! The wine and gelato were delicious too. We’ll be back.
Funny story,… originally we were apprehensive about Lupa, for silly reasons. WHAT A HIDDEN GEM
Everything from the hostess, the waiter, and the ambiance was great and comfortable. All other patrons seemed to be enjoying themselves as well.
Food, wine and service all exceptional. Especially loved the table visit from Jose Segura.
Bucatini all'amatriciana and carbonara are best in the city. Seriously.
Awesome good but incredibly rude host. Barking orders at customers and easing his voice for no reason. That experienced killed the place for me. I am not going to lay premium so someone disrespects me.
Been before, will come back again!
Good was excellent, service was a little slow , outdoor seating was a bit uncomfortable.
Always such a wonderful meal. I've never had anything I didn't like. Definitely a place I will go to over and over again.
We were disappointed with our lunch. We both had the crudo to start. It was large chunks of raw fish rather than thin slices which is what we were expecting. So the acid in the dressing did not permeate the inside. My partner had the branzino as his entre which was the only good dish. I had the saltimbocca. It was unrecognizable from what I expected. Usually its a cutlet or two topped with fresh sage leaves and prosciutto. This was a very thin dried out piece of something that was reminiscent of eating beef jerky. Very strange. It was hot outside and so was the inside of the restaurant. Service was fine.
I always enjoy my time at Lupa, the food is a delight.
The food is great, truly outstanding. The service, however was lacking and the hostess was perhaps the most rude person I've ever encountered in that position. It seemed very clear the hostess was not happy we were there, and even went so far to put us at the worst table in the restaurant despite there being many open tables. If I did not know better I believe this person saw I had booked through OpenTable and made sure to 'put us in the corner'. Truly a shame because the food is really very good.
Really enjoyed the ambiance , service and quality of food. The music playlist was great !The Bavette Cacio e Pepe and the inguine with Clams & Lemon was absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly ! Will be back for sure !
Very good food and ambience. Can't go wrong with any of the pastas and all reasonably priced.
Food was fan
Great food. Horrible service. Unprecedented
Lupa was amazing. Ben, our server, was outstanding. Best linguine and clams ever!
Pasta was over salted and not freshly made. Wine list was adequate.
I love Lupa and go very often, but had absolutely terrible service. My waiter was completely disinterested
Food quality seems to have dropped since our last visit in 2019. Different menu. They were very slow to bring out meal dispite being very quiet and not busy.
We ate outside under the enclosed space because it was a nice evening but the interior is also lovely, old world romantic! Food and wine was delicious, lovely upscale menu (pricey) and I would definitely go back again, especially for a celebration.
Happy to get a reservation. Love this place.
