Food was just ok. What a terrible experience overall. Our waiter literally quarreled with our busboy which ruined the entire mood and vibe of the dinner. No one apologized. We spoke to the manager and she could care less. Very unpleasant evening.
Do NOT eat at this place. It was the worst restaurant experience in a decade for me: the food took 75 minutes to arrive from the time we ordered, and when it did two of the four dishes were wrong. We had flown from out of town in the morning to celebrate my birthday that evening and we were tired and hungry. When we asked them to correct our order and bring the right plates rapidly because we were starving they said the could not do that. The staff were not only incompetent but also rude. I repeat: do NOT eat there unless you expect to wait an enormous amount of time, get food you didn’t ordered and be treated in a disrespectful fashion.
Food is good, service very slow! Why in an empty restaurant were we seated next to a loud table of six?
great food - great service- great out door seating! Fun eve out
Fab dining experience as usual.
Food is delicious! One of my favorite restaurants from years ago, still yummy! Everyone enjoyed their meal-
Cornish hen special/ spinach & peach salad/ short rib ragu pasta/cod.
So accommodating, we asked at the beginning if we could get individual checks-no problem! Service was excellent-asked how everything was
(We asked for too much spec which tasted too salty, they made another salad in a minute without being asked!)
We all (8) will return again & again &……
From the service to the food, everything was top notch. Will definitely be back
One of my favorite Italian restaurants I’ve been to for many years never disappoints. Four of us shared affetatti, roast pork, grilled octopus, fried panko-breaded cod and a couple of pasta dishes all of which were excellent except the cod being unacceptably salty. This was unfortunate as we had made a request to reduce salt for all plates—we’d been aware of the over salted issue at this restaurant all along… Highly recommended, but a simple less-salt request also highly recommended.
Oh, the wine list is superb, but daily recommended by-the-glass offerings never miss as well.
Lupa is our go-to celebration restaurant. We've eaten here dozens of times. As in the past, the food was excellent. We sat outside, so felt somewhat comfortable regarding COVID despite the closed-in outdoor seating area. However, it was extremely distressing that (other than the man busing tables) not a single employee of the restaurant wore a mask--whether indoors or outdoors. We arrived and went to the indoor hostess table: 3 women stood shoulder to shoulder greeting us, all unmasked. A server walked by, unmasked, through the dining room to the kitchen. I scanned the room and saw an unmasked bartender and 2 other unmasked servers. Throughout the course of dinner, servers came up to our table -- less than a foot away (never mind social distancing) -- none of whom wore masks.
Great food. Our waiter was fantastic but overworked. Will definitely go back again.
Lupa prepares traditional Italian- familiar dishes yet elevated by a great chef.
The entrees were good, but everything was a bit salty. Server was nice, but after taking our order, never appeared again except to give us our bill. He never even asked if we wanted to drink anything so we had water. The busboys were more attentive. Food was average--certainly a lot better to be had in NYC.
Good was good but service was not. The waiter was very pushy. Ruined the experience.
Not as good as it usually is! So weird!
Waited for 45 minutes even with a reservation. Reserved outdoor dining but finally sat us at the bar since it took so long.
Fantastic meal as always!
Great. The hostess was very accommodating.
Still amazing! I have loved this place for years! The food is incredible. So good. The wine list is reasonably priced. We had a fantastic meal! Thank Lupa!
Attentive service and wonderful food. Highly recommend
Bets pasta in Manhattan. Wine selection is also very good.
Lovely! Good food and great service!
Always a great experience at Lupa! Their Cacio e Pepe is the best in the city!
Quality of food and service has dropped since Batali is not involved.
Very stretch and noisy, tables are too close . However, very good food
We had the truffle flight and it was amazing
Oxtail was a huge piece of bone with little meat. Pastas are pretty good but are not fresh pasta. Good but not as good as they used to be. Friendly staff.
We booked month in advance fir a special dinner on the patio. We arrived and the hostess was beyond rude rude rude. The patio was not outside dinning but rather closed in and not ventilated and beyond hot. We asked to move tables twice and she waved us off like flies. We’ve been dining there every year for 20 years when we visit nyc and will NEVER return. Worst service ever!!!
Great food. Gluten free options are available. Friendly service.
Appetizer good, secondi good. Main dish was the grilled octopus. Accompanying potatoes were cold; like out the refrigerator cold. Was told after sending back to kitchen, to have it return still cold... that's how they make it. Took it home to reheat everything and enjoy.
Excellent bucatini amarticiana and Cacio e Pepe pasta. Had the roast potatoes, mushrooms, and greens on the side. Potatoes and mushrooms I’d order again, the greens I would skip as they were sour and bland.
My wife and I felt comfortable sitting in the outdoor structure with an air purifier and open doors.
We always have eaten at Lupa on Sundays when visiting NYC from CA. Unfortunately a lot of our favorites were gone from the menu & we all found our food to be quite salty.
I think they're doing the best they can post Covid, But unfortunately it just wasn't the same
Great Place, highly recommend. Easy to get a resv on Opentable
Lupa is nice but a shadow of its former self
Great pasta, would love it if they had a Pinot Grigio or Riesling by the glass! The wine portion seemed a bit large for just one person! I would go back if they adjusted their wine menu so that they gave a normal glass and had more of a single glass portion. Don't mistake me, the pasta and food was delicious but without alcohol, I wouldn't give the restaurant higher than a 4 and def would not go back. Not really sure why they offer the larger portions of alcohol!
Excellent service. Good value on wine with wide range (able to order a wine from Puglia!). Great music soundtrack.
Insane good. I’d lick that Bucatini out of a trash can it’s that good!
7:15 dinner reservation. We started with apps and pastas. When we wanted to add more food, we were told the kitchen was closed. Seemed odd-wasn’t like we had a late reservation. Wished our waitress would have told us that upfront. The food we did eat was outstanding!
Our waiter was excellent and very attentive. The tables are sooooo close together. You are right on top of the people next to you. Way too cramped inside
