Great for special occasions. Too expensive for just going out. The restaurant is much quieter than the cafe.
Incredible meal. Go!
It was terrific as usual. Had a variety of dishes & all were wonderful. Ambience low key & comfortable. One of my favorite places.
It has much to recommend it—the ambience with the fireplace made it cozy, very friendly host, free and ample parking, and a scrumptious grain salad. There were a couple of less than satisfying parts, however. When I made the online reservation I checked off that it was our wedding anniversary (which is why we went to Lunetta in the first place). But there was no acknowledgement by the waiter of this special occasion, no singing and no anniversary dessert was brought. I’m wondering why the restaurant asks for this information on the reservation form if they’re not going to act on it. Our other disappointment was the short ribs. They were dry and chewy. I couldn’t even eat them. Instead I shared my husband’s branzino, which was good.
We went for my wife’s birthday.
The food itself was okay. Brussels sprouts as an app - different twist - was more of a salad as there were more leafs of spinach and arugula than sprout! Nice sweet touch with the inclusion of grapes. As for the mains, the short rib was a bit too heavy on the jus, which overwhelmed the dish. The creme fraise/ horseradish sauce was good and would’ve stood out more of not for the sea of jus. The crab gnocchi was superb.
However in spite of this, we still came to Lunetta for the deserts. They didn’t disappoint and they were amazing. My wife who is British was in love with the Sticky Toffee Pudding and also the Bourbon Chocolate melt in the middle. Nice touch as well that the restaurant provides birthday candles on the puddings :)
We’ll come back for more and try other items on the menu.
Enjoyed every aspect of this place. Great beverages and delish food.
Excellent food and services
Fabulous food! Five of us shared scallops, gnocchi, short ribs, meat balls, sea food pasta, & pear salad. For dessert, sticky toffee _ chocolate. Everything was outstanding. Luneta is a gem!
Service was exceptional
Super delicious food
New favorite on the westside.
We were happy to sit in the fireplace dining area as it was very cozy on that cold night. The fireplace/bar area is also much quieter than the other dining area. The food and service were great. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely go back to Lunetta!
We always enjoy dining at Lunetta. They use the freshest ingredients, excellent preparation, and very good variety of meat, fish and pasta dishes on the menu. There's a very good wine and spirits list, and excellent service too. Happy to recommend Lunetta (and Lunetta All Day) to our friends.
Very nice in every way-
Not special in any way.
Requested a table in the front room, and our requested was ignored, and all tables in that room were occupied at 6:30pm.
Table we were given in the bar was uncomfortable and crammed between two others with very loud patrons on each side.
Waiter named Kevin, had a ton of attitude as though he was doing us a huge favor to serve us.
Food was just ok.
Won’t be back any time soon.
Looked great, food was great. A sure sign that the chef can cook
It was a nice Valentine’s Day pre fix.
great Valentine dinner ...too much food. a smaller menu would be more appreciated. Raphael Lunetta should change his menu every month, it is getting boring...
We came here on Valentine’s day for our anniversary, it was lovely. The food was amazing, the ambience was mellow and romantic, and the service was attentive and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
the Gluten Free options were outstanding and the fish was done just right, very flavorful. They know how to prepare their menu items. Well prepared.
I took my fiance to Lunetta's for his birthday dinner. He immediately commented on the warm atmosphere, the perfect amount of room noise (though it was a weekday night), and our waiter's incredible attention to detail and knowledge of the menu. The food was spectacular. We shared all of our dishes as the menu suggests and loved every bite. We both have some dietary restrictions and appreciated that the menu was clearly marked with gluten free options. We will be back!!
Beautiful restaurant, food was delicious. I also get to speak with the manager and he provided great service.
Just love this place, especially on a cold, wet, winter night (as this was) with the fire roaring. It feels like a chic yet comfortable supper club. The food is consistently delicious, the wine list superbly curated and the ambience is perfect for intimate conversation.
Lunetta is a true gem. We have never had a disappointing meal here. The Spanish Octupus is probably the best we have ever eaten; the Brussel Sprouts were amazingly tender and flavorful. The highlight was my entree - the Filet on a bed of Red Crab potatoe mousse with mint and a saucewas absolutely phenomenonal. The flavors melded together to create an amazing dish.
Nice room, good food and cocktails. Too bad about the service! Nice enough, just inept. Brought food out without clearing appetizer plates, brought dessert without any utensils. Disappearing waiter, etc.
Back of the house good - front of the house bad.
3 of our party of seven arrived on time for our reservation and they refused to seat us until the “majority” of our party arrived, which was a bit annoying. Once we were seated the food and service were great.
Incredible experience! Beautiful atmosphere, attentive service and well-balanced flavorful menu.
Food was great, service was a little off. I indicated it was my birthday but nothing really came of that, so the feature when booking is pointless. Just a little slow on drinks, checking in etc. Main room ambience is nice but try to get seated in the front bar area - it’s much nicer and lively ambience. Lobster Gnocchi dish was the highlight, would go back for that any day.
extremely noisy and too closely configured seating. could not carry on conversation. Scallops were tasty, buy only 3 to a portion is not enough. Filey mignon was excellent as was the duck breast. Wine by the glass on the expensive side with a very narrow red list.
As a NYC transplant, the moon lounge makes me feel right at home. Its wrapped in a warm, cozy ambience of dark color walls, velvet chairs and a central fireplace. The food is delicious and the hospitality, led by chef Raphael, is perfectly attentive.
Great atmosphere and the presentation is excellent. Chef Lunetta came around and said hello which was really nice as it shows how much he cares about your experience. Good wine selection and the service was right on. We went for a birthday celebration and loved it.
Love this place. Dinner was delicious, service excellent and we love the room - went with another couple and it was a fun crowd, but still able to have a conversation. Has a cool vibe.
Lunetta is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Monica. We take all our friends and out of town guests here. We love the staff and the food is amazing
Had a lovely birthday dinner celebration for our daughter. Everyone enjoyed the selections and the ambiance. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, which is always something which we appreciate.
We we’re there for dineLA’s final night so it was definitely busy, but we had very attentive service. The menu is beautifully crafted - something for everyone. You can tell the menu was carefully crafted with the freshest ingredients culminating into delicate flavors just perfectly. I wanted to try everything on the menu - which only means I’ll be returning frequently. This place is a must for foodies.
We had an amazing time at Lunetta during Dine in LA. The ambience, food and drinks were amazing. We will definitely visit again!
The food was delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
THIS WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH. I HAD CONCERNS BECAUSE THE RESTAURANT AND BAR ARE PAINTED BLACK, BUT THE BARTENDER WAS CHATTY AND GOT OUR ORDER QUICKLY AND CORRECTLY. THE DINING AREA IS SPACIOUS. OUR WAITRESS WAS VERY PROMPT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE MENU. WE DID THE DINE LA MENU. TWO DID THE STEAK, ONE WITH THE BEET SALAD (DIFFERENT THAN ANY WE HAD EVERY HAD ANYWHERE ELSE, BUT EXCELLENT.) AND ONE WITH THE SCALLOPS WHICH WERE ALSO EXCELLENT. STEAKS WERE TENDER AND VEGETABLE TENDER CRISP. ONE HAD THE AHI WHICH WAS ONE OF THE BEST PREPARATION AND PRESENTATION SHE HAD EVER HAD. SHE STARTED WITH THE MUSHROOM TRUFFLE SOUP WHICH WAS ALSO DELICIOUS. I HAD THE BEET SALAD FOLLOWED BY THE DUCK BREAST. WE HAD ALL THREE DESSERTS. THERE WASN'T A MISSTEP IN THE ENTIRE EVENING. WE ALL LOVED IT AND ARE ALREADY TALKING ABOUT HOW SOON WE CAN RETURN.
Great food service and ambiance. A bit noisy but not more so than most and better than many. I have been there 3 times, twice for dinner and once for lunch on the patio and it was delightful. I'll be back - again.
We went for Dine-Out LA and was very good. The selections were all desirable, so much so they ran out of the duck. (it was a holiday weekend). Very attentive service, and delicious recipes. Great introduction to a restaurant we had not tried. We will go back.
