Food came out at different times leading to awkwardness at the table. One meal came out a full 10 minutes before the other two.
Diverse menu, delicious food, great service.
The food was cooked to order and delicious and the service was second to none. Good job!
We come here often for dinner, and have been for brunch twice. Just a great brunch menu and great environment. The staff is great. Just a great reboot in the Mission!
We had a nice dinner at Luna American Brasserie after a LONG day of sightseeing around San Francisco. We like trying local neighbor spots in the cities and towns we visit and Luna's Open Table description seemed to fit the bill. Overall we had a nice dinner with good service. We both had the hamburger, one with fries and the other with the salad. We shared our sides and everything was excellent. We had 2 cocktails, one Manhattan on the rocks and a Margarita. My husband was not pleased with the Margarita as it was rather tart and didn't arrive with the requested salt rim. Overall, I'd recommend Luna AB as a nice neighborhood spot with a good menu selection.
Saturday brunch was delicious. Weather was cold so bundle up if you are eating outside. Chicken and waffles were yummy. Monte Cristo was not battered so it was not as heavy, but bread was super crispy on the outside.
Everything was delicious - the pork chops, the bavette steak, and especially the mushroom flatbread. The latter surprised me!
The mac and cheese was great. We ate it for appetizer, and it wasn't too filling. We also loved the bone marrow, and the burger and fries! The service was wonderful. Great energy in this place!
Great food, drinks and service in a lovely atmosphere. Everything came out very quickly.
The mains were hot and delicious. There were a few items that we were told were gluten free but clearly were not (the fried tofu, the burrata.) The wines by the glass were few and not very good, they did not stand up well to the food which was disappointing. The service was very good, friendly.
This was the 2nd time my girlfriend and I went there, and both times it has been fantastic. We have been recommending it to friends and family, and will continue to go back.
Felt like a Luna fix after holiday party - great pick! Staff fabulous as always - shout out to fabulous brother/sister duo Mitchel and Beverly! Excellent new winter beet salad with just the right mix of enticing tidbits. Pork chops grilled to perfection. Solid bottle of Pinot Noir.
Would still love to see the Wine List expanded - good picks but regulars like to try new vintages! Maybe we ought to try more cocktail choices - bartenders are also talented, fun and friendly.
Great place to stop in for a holiday boost!
loved the cocktails and our server was excellent!
We were seated in a sort of awkard spot, so that took a bit away from the experience.
We sat down at 8pm, we haven’t even gotten our food and they told us the kitchen was closing and that if we wanted anything else we would have to order. Also they started putting the chairs up While we were still eating at 9:30.
We sat at the end of the bar and had the best service and food
The ambience was great in that the lighting was nice and subtle. The music was nice and at a nice level for talking. The problem was it was about 50° outside. They insisted on leaving the front door open. I asked if that was necessary for Covid protocol in the city. The answer was no. All the guests that I could see were wearing their coats. I was wearing a scarf too and still cold. The food got cold very quickly. The few bites I took before the chilly breeze blew past my plate was very very yummy and great quality. It’s a shame they couldn’t just shut the front door. I asked to sit outside thinking it would be warmer because there’s heaters out there but since my reservation for inside that was not an option which was fine. I didn’t expect it to be warmer outside than it was inside. Really great food though so this isn’t necessarily a negative review
Food offerings were delicious and server/team was attentive. Sat outside, and the street was closed for through traffic so noise level was minimal and we could hear each other at our table while conversing.
Friend in town and wanted to take them to our favorite neighborhood spot! Love the service team here. Consistent food.
Strong cocktails, lively atmosphere. Buttermilk deep fried burratta was delicious and the pork chop was moist and flavorful. We were there early on a Sunday and the service was very good, timely and efficient.
A special dinner visit was topped off by good food, warm and well-timed service, and just the right level of lively conversation around us.
Great experience, made better with excellent waitstaff.
I don't remotely get it. The place is loud, the door is open and drafty, welcoming for the clouds of marijuana smoke that waft in from Valencia Street, and the food is absolutely mediocre. The harried service was... tolerable. The hostess was cold, bordering on rude, and lifted not a finger to give us a table away from the door. Our server was, thankfully, better, and worked hard to handle his many tables.
The salads were large and flavorful; the main courses were acceptable -- though mostly uninspired. (The butternut squash risotto was a quite good exception.) The dessert was, in the case of the chocolate opera cake, beyond boring, honestly nearly devoid of taste -- why waste the carb sins on this? -- and in the case of the poached pear cobbler, cloyingly sweet.
I will say the place offers large portions. If only the flavors were better and the ambience was something that allowed you to you relax and enjoy. To be candid, I can't imagine the circumstances that would drag us back.
I loved the restaurant space. We patrons were not seated on top of one another so it felt safe. The best part about the dining experience was our server, Jenna.
Second time at Luna and it’s truly a new fave of mine. Great service and delicious food. And the music is amazing!
Great food, wonderful service
I absolutely adore this spot. Everything is always so great - from the service to the food and drinks. I’m scared it will get too popular, frankly.
Food was badly over salted: heavy hand in the kitchen. No finesses. Disappointed
Very noisy, desperate need for more servers ( poor servers are way overwhelmed and have no time to answer questions or even get the food right ! ). Had to ask for sugar five times before I got and ordered whafles with no bacon and 45 mins later got it with bacon !!
That’s a really poor table for five- more like a bar for two or three. When you can only fit mains in a single row - with no space for people to face each other- whoever thought they’d maximize revenue at the cost of customers actually enjoying their food was wrong. You just lost five customers.
When I’m not reviewing the food, service or the hard working people behind the scenes, something’s terribly wrong front of house.
Amazing and cute little restaurant that has a great atmosphere. The food and cocktails were all absolutely outstanding and served quickly!
My son’s birthday, it turned out to be a good choice because of the youthful energy about the place. From an aesthetic point of view, lighting could be improved and it needs a facelift/freshening. Food was very good, service was excellent.
The food and the servers are quite good. However, the kitchen is a disaster: we waited 50 minutes for our hamburger order.
Great menu choices and all our selections were delicious. One of the best servers we’ve ever had anywhere— helpful, fun and professional.
A great place to cektbirthdays.
We were seated 25 minutes late at an outdoor table despite booking an indoor table. What’s the point of having a reservation? A little wait is fine, but 25 minutes is not okay. All of the staff were very nice. Food was cooked well but not amazing.
The food was very delicious and lots of healthy items on the menu. Provide indoor and outdoor dining. I do recommend that servers undergo a cultural training to be able to receive all cultural background ethnicity customers with respect and provide the same quality of customer service. This lacked with the server we had. Our evening at Luna was very unpleasant except for the quality of the foold.
Great food and atmosphere. Really happy to have gone to this restaurant for Halloween
Great hostess and servers! Food was excellent
The dining room does not scream fine dining. But the Chef does! Food was creative and perfectly done. American classics. Duck Breast served unsliced was a highlight. New head of the bar was attentive and had both creative cocktails and traditional cocktails under control. Will be back for the food and drinks.
Fun place to eat great food in the heart of the Mission. We sat outside and we had a great time, the service was very good and the food was excellent.
