Lovely to sit on the water for diner
Awesome dinner with delicious food.
Lovely as always! They knew it was our anniversary and presented us with desert decorated with chocolate wishing us Happy Anniversary. This is a wonderful gem which is small and very welcoming!
Great food and service! Had a great time celebrating our anniversary.
Luna Blu is far and away our favorite restaurant in Tiburon and one of our favorites anywhere. Food quality is excellent. Service is friendly and attentive. Best of all is the menu - almost everything on the menu is a desirable alternative depending on your mood and taste that day. Not often I can say that about a menu. Renzo and Chrystal, the owners, are a presence that infuses the overall staff with a quality sense of ownership. To bad it is only 15 tables but maybe that’s why it’s so great.
We had a lovely dinner at the cozy Luna Blu. We had the calamari and the tomato and cucumber salad which hit the spot. I enjoyed the salmon piccatta which was perfectly prepared; my husband had the fish special and my daughter had the filet. We were all happy with our choices. And the desserts were fabulous - the vanilla cannoli was out of this world as were the profiteroles. And the tiramisu was delicious. Kristin, our server was helpful and attentive. When a table on the patio opened up, the owner, Crystal, moved us there which was great - the view of the harbor is beautiful. A wonderful evening- we'll go back!
Luna Blu was a nice find in Tiburon. It was our first visit to this small restaurant, and it was packed during lunch time on a warm, sunny Saturday. The four of us were glad to have a reservation (it was about 1 to 1.5 hr wait times without a reservation). The food was deliciously Italian. The panino portobello with tomato, basil, and arugula was very good and cheesy, and the the panzanella salad and chicken panino were delicious. The ciabatta rolls and bread used for the panini were a real hit as well as was the extra virgin olive oil for dipping. Oil was so good we bought a bottle to go. The wine list had many Italian and California representatives though not many by the glass, and the cocktails were well done. The hostess and our server were very pleasant and attentive despite the hectic lunch time. While our table was located near the door, it was comfortable and quiet enough to hold casual conversations. We would definitely return and next time request a table on the patio facing the Bay.
Enjoyed our brunch on Sunday at Luna Blu....food was delicious but my husband said his pasta serving was small. I had the Sicilian omlette and would order that again.
Cute little restaurant; the themed decor was nice, but may need a little updating soon. The ambiance was nice. We sat outside where you sit over the yacht dock, and It was great.. you can see the neighbor restaurants patio and part of the ocean , so, not the greatest view but gives you a relaxed feeling. Loved sitting by the water, sipping my cocktail, and the service was awesome, our waiter was perfect. I ordered the cioppino and my partner ordered the chicken/white sauce. The food was nothing out of the ordinary, but the drinks were made well. Overall a good spot and I may return...
Had gone by past ratings and had never been there before. We were seated on the back patio, which was a bit cramped. They had a huge gas lamp heater going on in the middle which was a bit scary to my daughter because if you got too close you could literally get burned. The cioppinno was superb, 5 star in my book, but where things fell short was with the appetizers. First, when you go to an Italian place, what do you expect first before drinks come out? Water on the table (which was fine) and warm bread and butter. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I went to an Italian place that didn’t serve bread or breadsticks/crackers at least. The carpaccio and the crab croquettes were good but we have had much better and for less cost. Overall, a bit on the pricey side but that is why I am holding this restaurant to a higher standard. Service was fine but not stellar; I think it goes a long way when servers actually introduce themselves with their name and a short intro. But, was very happy when I got my candle and bday song with my tiramisu!
Excellent food, interesting wine list, and a well stocked bar. Service was attentive and congenial.
Enjoyed a wonderful Easter day with my kids. Ambiance was fabulous. Food was delish! Service was excellent!
Five stars all around. The chef and kitchen staff are amazing, Crystal and the wait staff are friendly and professional in every regard.
I eat here fairly regularly, and hate to share, but if you want to remember what world class neighborhood restaurants were like, you owe yourself a meal here.
Came here with our 1 year old to celebrate our anniversary. they sat us outside overlooking the water and we felt miles and miles away from san francisco. very accommodating even though we showed up with a massive stroller and messy baby. The food was delicious and great cocktails too! Thanks for the lovely evening.
Beautiful spot, fantastic food and attentive service. The best of Tiburon!
We had a wonderful birthday dinner at Luna Blu. The tomato soup was spectacular and the spinach raviolis were delicious. They have a nice wine list and the service was excellent.
Great lunch! Food was excellent and so was the service
What is NOT to like about Luna Blu?! We were taken to our reserved marina-side table and a friendly waiter gave us time to choose a cocktail. Went with the two varieties of margaritas, one with an almond liqueur and one with pomegranate. Strong and good. The eggplant Parmesan was loved by my husband and I enjoyed the salmon piccata. We shared my birthday mocha tiramisu. Yum! The servers were attentive as cordial. It was a wonderful evening.
Enjoyed the brunch/lunch options. The view was incredible! Only downside was the parking validation wasn’t accepted by the parking lot, so perhaps more specificity on parking.
Great food and service. Perfect table on the bay. Have had dinner here numerous times and it’s always top notch!
Good food & very nice people.
Stopped by Luna Blu again and their quality stands up. We had a good table, good food, great service. It is a loud busy place, but you can still hear each other.
I dine here multiple times a week, so for me it’s everyday dining. Though it would be a perfect location for a special occasion as well.
Never disappoints. Staff is lovely , food delicious and a unique spot on the water.
Great spot on the water in downtown Tiburon. Great service, but uninspired food. Taste was OK, nothing wrong. Simply a bit boring and not special.
Very “bistro like” restaurant. Small, intimate place, and a great vibe. Enjoyed it immense. Food was excellent, all four of us had something different, all was great. Nice people too.
5 Stars all around! We had an exceptional BD dinner with great service, nice bay views & tastefully decorated, but most of all, delicious food! Cioppino, salmon crab, portobello salad, calamari & tiramisu were all yummy! We highly recommend the friendly & enjoyable Luna Blu!
Always a great experience.... great food, ambience and service
Nothing special here, but service!
The best Restaurant ever, Food is very Special,Authentic Italian Restaurant with excellent service .
The Owner, Master Chef Renzo and his Wife Cristal are the most welcome people I ever met.
Outstanding 🔝🔝🔝Grazie mille for the best food and time
Second time visiting Luna Blu in Tiburon and it doesn't disappoint. The atmosphere, food , service, view of San Francisco is excellent. Wonderful place to go on a sunny day and sit outside.
This is our favorite restaurant in the Bay Area! We are from Europe and it is not so easy to find real Italian food. But here we feel at home, every dish we have tried has been delicious. Although I must admit I find it hard to break away from the buratta appetizer, fresh bolognese pasta and chocolate mousse dessert. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and are great at making wine pairing suggestions.
Our decision to dine at this restaurant was based on the reviews we read on Yelp. We were very disappointed in the food. Not a place we will be returning too.
Favorite restaurant in the middle of quaint downtown Tiburon (one block long)_ Imaginative Sicilian recipes prepared by Chef Renzo (in the toque) . Reserve and request an outdoor table for a great marine view across to the San Francisco skyline (blankets provided for cool weather). If staying in San Francisco take the round trip Tiburon ferry from SF Pier 41 for lovely evening out of the Big City.
The service was excellent! The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The crab salad and frittata were both very good. I would definitely recommend this place.
The food at Luna Blu was very good. The entrees do NOT come with a starch or a vegetable; just a piece of entree on the plate. You pay extra for the Sides. You also pay extra for a roll. Each bread roll was 75 cents a piece. Our waiter was not very friendly. We probably would not go back. Reservations are a must.
Luna Blu is located on the water in tiny Tiburon and is very close to the ferry. It is very cute and quaint, offering a delightful ambiance. We sat indoors, but the outdoor patio overlooking the water is enticing. Service was fine. The wait for the food was a tiny bit long, but well worth the wait. I had the delicious Cioppino and my wife the linguini with seafood. Both had a little, just right "bite" in the sauce. We enjoyed both immensely. We will be back!
We loved our dinner at Luna Blu. It was really romantic and the food was awesome. I had linguini and clams. They were very flavorful and cooked perfectly. My husband had filet with a gorgonzola sauce that was incredible! It was a cold rainy night. But we were still able to sit comfortably on the patio. I’m always cold, so I was worried. But their heat lamps are great. The view of the marina and city was gorgeous. Highly recommend!
Food was absoluely amazing and the ambience was beautiful
We were the first party seated on a Sunday morning. The restaurant filled rather quickly, as Sam’s Anchor Cafe was closed for renovations. After 35 minutes, we became aware that other tables had received their meals. I asked about ours and was told that eggs took longer to cook! Really? The eggs arrived shortly after, but we had to ask for bread. The waiter informed us that bread was”by request.” He did not tell us that we’d be charged $2.25 for it! The food was only average, service was poor, but the view was nice. We won’t be back.
