Within a beautiful Subiaco heritage building, a new neighbourhood wine bar has entered the scene on Hay Street. In the 1920s, the building was home to a provisions merchant owned by husband and wife Emily and Charles Lums. Their shop, EA Lums & Co, was a place for locals to grab quality ingredients from a family-owned shop.

With the appointment of Nick Young as Head Chef, Lums offers a brand new, vino-friendly food offering.

Nick’s resume boasts a wonderful mix of fine dining and funky neighbourhood eateries including Wildflower, Must, Bivouac and Lallah Rookh. With extensive time spent working in rural luxury resorts and Margaret River wineries, Nick brings a passion for fresh, local produce, heirloom varieties, preserving and fermentation.

Unfortunately the service really let's this venue down. We had a bad experience the first time we ate there. We decided to give it another go as the food was really good. However, the second time we booked in the service was again atrocious. This could be a really good restaurant but the service just let's it down.

Great little bar/diner in Subi. Pork belly a bit dry but gnocchi, steak and chicken dishes perfect. Recommend making a booking.

Drinks list extensive and well priced, menu has lots of GF and V options which was important for us, food was delicious and price for lunch and drinks we considered very reasonable . Staff were very helpful and friendly. It wasn’t very busy at 1pm on a Friday which surprised us but would definitely recommend as a place for lunch and drinks.
