Lumen Detroit

We dined at the restaurant on November 14th. The restaurant was beautiful and with the holiday lights aglow outside it made the atmosphere that much more charming. COVID guidelines were being followed which made me and my parents feel very secure. Table were spaced and employees wearing masks. Noise level was very quiet due to spacing within the restaurant. Food was wonderful. We had the calamari for an appetizer and each of us had a seafood dish (mussels, blackened salmon fall harvest salad, and a grilled shrimp salad) which were all delicious. Restaurant has a nice list of signature cocktails with some being themed for the season. We ordered Spanish coffees after dinner. Not listed on the menu but they had no issue making them. They were delicious! So often restaurants don’t know how to make them correctly. It was a treat to get a well made coffee drink. The service was impeccable. Very nice server and hostess. Friendly and helpful with menu choice. We will definitely be returning to Lumen.

We had a reservation and got there a little early. They sat us right away. Virtual Vacation cocktail was amazing! I got the salmon, which was also amazing! Waitress was kind and attentive. Overall great experience.

Excellent place to celebrate a special occasion. It is also great that they cater to food allergies.

Given they open the patio windows...bring something additional to wear as it can get a bit chilly within the confines of the restaurant itself....

Motorcycles/ATV's parade past on Grand River on weekends tend to take away from the atmosphere

Food is wonderful and service great

Very good food and friendly staff. Atmosphere is vibrant with the park located immediately outside. Great views of action happening during baseball games or other events downtown. You feel like you are eating outdoors even when inside. Very nice.

I thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant, the food was excellent, the service was excellent but I tried calling a couple times because we had a couple questions and nobody answered. I even called after they were open for business, still no answer. Hence, the 4 stars instead of 5.

Great safe place to eat during the pandemic. Wonderful staff, good drinks, and something on the menu for everyone.

We had a wonderful time! My roommate and I will definitely be coming back--especially to try one of the outdoor igloos!

Solid food, great environment and good service. I would definitely recommend for the ambiance alone.

Our service was exceptional & the space is so cool, they also have some new igloo options for Fall/Winter.

Food was ok. Overpriced. Ambience and inner city views were good

Waitress did not ask if we wanted refills on the water, drinks, or dessert. She just asked if the bills were together or separate and brought us the bill. However, once one of my guest brought it to her attention, she stated she “assumed we were full”, apologized and brought each of us dessert...on the house. While we were each thankful, we must never assume, we should always ask prior to bringing a bill. It makes your customers feel rushed.

Wishing it was summer we may have enjoyed the atmosphere a little more
The staff was nice but very Blah no smiles with the clients and when they did engage it was just a little dry
And the waitress didn’t address the price of the special attention to detail is important it’s a good thing we had good conversation with my husband
And I also thought the food could have tasted better

Had a wonderful experience. Went for our anniversary and enjoyed everything. Very cool place with great food and drink. Our server, Brianna, was excellent. She was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. She seemed to genuinely enjoy her job and made our visit even better. Can’t wait to go back!!

Fun place to dine outdoors on a Corktown Detroit street corner with an attractive modern building for spaced indoor dining. Excellent drinks, very good food; would love a few more veg/vegan options for a repeat visit. And add Virtue draft ciders to the menu too! And some good Michigan wines.

A really nice night out, well social distanced, outside. Good food and great service.

This place is a fantastic date night location! Our waitress was on top of keeping us supplied with food and drinks, while also giving great recommendations!

Sat on patio - tables were socially distanced and there were many patio heaters to keep warm. Food was excellent! Mac and cheese is our favorite thing there - and the green curry soup of the day was delicious

We both had the burgers and they were cooked to perfection and tasted like steak. The fries were also very very good! Crispy and made from scratch! Ambience was very nice! Low level lighting and viewing the scenery around outside through the big glass windows is always is amazing!

Our server Dominique was great. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and suggested a few dishes that turned out amazing. The atmosphere is so nice and clean. We have a family outing with our cousins every few months and this was perfect

Best Covid-19 restaurant since it has a large outdoor capability and much of the restaurant can be opened up to fresh outdoor air. Covid-19 protocols seem to be in place and are being followed. Wait staff has been wonderful. Food is very good. Been there 3 or 4 times since they reopened.

Amazing place for Lunch or Dinner, easy access to all freeways. Had a wonderful time and will go back

Great place for relaxation in downtown Detroit. Indoors is very nice for dinner at night. But the patio is truly wonderful for a late lunch or afternoon break on a sunny day ... enjoying craft cocktails (very good here) or maybe a Caesar salad and Lumen's Mac 'n Cheese (as we did). Easy to find at Cass & Grand River with Beacon Park on its West and the old Grand Army of the Republic building across Grand River Avenue. Casual, nice, relaxing, attentive service. Roof patio was closed when we visited, but looked especially inviting (once things get a little more back to normal). Go. Enjoy.

The waitress was very attentive, good space between tables and drinks were mixed perfectly.

The atmosphere was good, The wait person was friendly, very personable, We had one concern that the wait person kept disappearing She kept and forgetting a requested item multiple times. We ordered the peach Sangria it was watery and not enough fruit as described on the menu 1 grape cut in half and two slivers or peach. Food was delicious, I would definitely go back because of the atmosphere and food,

I absolutely love dining here. The ambience, food, and waitstaff gets all 10’s from me. They are very generous with their food portions too! Keven waited on us and he’s awesome. My new favorite place
