Seated immediately at a window. Our server, Angelica, came right over for our drink orders. For dinner, we each had the cream of mushroom soup, great starter, loaded with mushrooms. My wife ordered the butternut squash gnocchi, I had the Caesar salad with salmon. Everything was delicious. The gnocchi was sauced perfectly and my salmon was done well. We will be back once the weather breaks and they are able to open the walls.

Lumen was great. The food was delicious. I had the mushroom soup and the Asian salad. One of my friends had the crab cake and my other friend had the caesar salad with the salmon. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our waitress, Kay, was very nice. She was attentive, answered our questions and made recommendations. The ambiance is very cool. It was still a chilly day in mid-March, so I want to go back in the summer when they can open all the window walls next to Beacon Park and/or sit outside. Very cool vibe there. I will definitely go back.

I enjoyed the ambiance here and the service was very thoughtful. While I didn’t enjoy my steak because it wasn’t cooked as requested, the management and my waitress worked really hard to address the issue and also offered to purchase our dessert. I appreciate the management here and service!

Great space and decor. A few in our party ordered the roasted chicken. It was leftover and reheated. We were made to feel inconvenienced by our waiter, who clearly wanted o leave as he brought the check before asking if we wanted dessert and coffee.

We had a great time at Lumen. Everyone liked their meals, from the cream of mushroom soup to the mussels. By far the best side item were the cheddar mashed potatoes I got with my roasted chicken. The portions were generous. Best drink was the jalapeño mule, spicy! The sisters were a great waitress team.

Had the Michigan Pork Chop. Pork Chop was fine. Potato was fine. The Red Cabbage was a profound fail. Actually the saltiest food I have ever tasted. As the slaw had some bacon pieces I did expect some saltiness. But I think they prepared it in some brine and the salted it afterward - twice. Completely destroyed the slaw itself, the dish and my interest to return. Good luck.

Our group dined on a Sunday evening and the experience was great! I ordered two cocktails, the Detroit Sour and Pony Up (Detroit Sour was my favorite between the two). Our table shared the sausage pretzel appetizer, which was so delicious and enough to share with three people. It consisted of lamb and andouille sausages, both very flavorful. I would return here just for this dish. Everyone was pleased with their dishes too. I ordered the Lumen Burger, which was so flavorful and tasty with a yummy aioli sauce. One guest ordered the short rib that I suggest as well! It's a nice/large portion of meat paired with a sweet potato purée and asparagus. Another guest had the salmon entree paired with the most moist and creamy rice (tasted like curry seasoned). I can not wait to come back to sample more dishes from Lumen's menu.

Amazing place. Great service. Delicious food. Yummy cocktails. The atmosphere was outstanding. Can’t wait to visit in a warm day to hopefully dine on the patio.
They have valet for parking, which was a Hugh plus.
Can’t wait to visit again.

First time I'd been after multiple recommendations. My husband and I shared the kale salad and the mussels. Both dishes were amazing. The only drawback was that I thought the menu was quite limited and would have liked a couple of more interesting daily specials. Fish and chips in this type of venue seems a little unimaginative. We had good service but were there for a late lunch so felt that the server could have been slightly more attentive. No dessert or coffee was offered which was disappointing. It's the time when a coffee would be appreciated

Had a wonderful time and meal at Lumen! The hosts, our server, Sarah and of course the food was all fantastic! I had the pan seared salmon with jalapeño rice and broccolini and it was excellent, the cook on he salmon was perfect! Highly recommend for delicious meal and great service!
P.S. the mixed drinks were a little pricey but so worth it I recommend the Manhattan on the rocks 👍🏽

I had the hamburger included fries. $15 I thought a bit much. I've had better burgers for half the price. The fries were plain nothing special. My wife had mussels which good, my daughters had the steak which they enjoyed. Very pricey. I guess you pay for the ambiance.

The service was exceptional, waters filled and every detail was covered. The food was wonderful and the views through every window was great. People looked comfortable in the igloos but I didn’t venture outside to test it. I would recommend this restaurant on service alone.

Ok. Definitely need improvement. If something lists cucumber, I would expect it to be muddled into the drink for $12 not just a slice of cucumber on the rim of the glass. Service was good

Great restaurant, food and service!!! The menu has plenty of great dishes and variety. I ended up trying the trout special. It was fantastic. Also, try the pretzel app! Lots of Michigan local beers on tap too. I'll definitely be back.

Excellent location and setting Good food but not great. Felt like they wanted us out quick since we were dining after the theater afternoon show. It was crowded so I can see they wanted us to move. But. Server didn’t ask if we wanted another cocktail or a bottle of wine with dinner. A missed opportunity for them.

We were there for restaurant week. Both that menu and the regular one were very appealing. Portions were ample. Beer list was great. Our server was great, very knowledgeable and excited about their offerings. The music was a little intrusive but was turned down later. It will be a great place in the summer!

Food was very good the short ribs were delicious appetizers were excellent! The igloo setting was different special and quaint. As for the service, it was bad..
we were greeted by the waiter, food ordered taken and delivered other than that he was pretty unhappy (or he seemed) robot like unresponsive. I even tried to throw some humor at some point to break the frigid atmosphere and I make our experience a little more human, even that didn’t work!
