Lumen Detroit Igloos

Had dinner in the igloo.

Loved the entire experience, however wish we were in one of the igloos. It was a bit misleading.

We had a group of 14 in one of the Lumen Igloos to celebrate a birthday. The igloo was more like a nice greenhouse with an interesting chandelier, cozy blankets, and heaters. Fantastic setting, service and food. Highly recommend for a party. We will be back!

Great ambiance, great food, great service, great views of Beacon Park! Only complaint was it was a little chilly as the servers came in and out but that was to be expected.

We had a great night on Saturday. I received a confirmation call on Wednesday and the employee reviewed the Igloo policies and reminded me multiple times that we needed to be on time and it was a STRICT 2 hour reservation. My party was there on time but we weren't seated until 45 minutes after our reservation because the group before us was "late". It's not my problem that another group was late the strict 2 hour reservation policy that I was warned about days in advance should have been enforced. Thankfully we had a great server that apologized multiple times (Management should have stepped in to ask the group to leave & should have been the one to apologize) for our late seating. The food was great and we enjoyed our experience.

Our server was the sweetest person ever! She was very informative, patient and super funny.

We had a party of 10 and reserved An igloo. It was an awesome experience! We had the “greenhouse” glass style and the atmosphere was amazing! The wait staff was excellent! Our waitress was so sweet and knew her stuff! She rocked! The sun was in my eyes and she went in and got us sunglasses! That was so above and beyond. Everyone loves their drinks and food! I would definitely come back and can’t wait to experience the nicer months and the outside space you have.

Extremely fun night! Lots of laughs in a private, intimate and beautiful setting. We will definitely plan again!!

The ambiance was great but the food was served luke warm in several instances.

Rose was wonderful. Fantastic recommendations. The Detroit sour is amazing ! Get it. The atmosphere was great for small parties or large ones . Food, drinks. Service and atmosphere were all too notch!! Loved it.

I loved the experience! Can’t wait to go back! The crab cake is delicious. The cheesecake in the jar was really good! I overall really enjoyed Lumen!

We had a great experience definitely will go back . We reserved the glass igloo or chalet for 12 people it was my friend 50 Th b-day the whole seating was very nice she really enjoy . I will recommend this for any kind occasion .

We did a corporate event in one of the igloos. Scheduling, service, and atmosphere was wonderful and our employees loved it. We will return.

Our server Rosalen was very accomodating and nice. Food was quick and tasty. And drinks were amazing. The ambiance was very romantic and cozy. I would definitely recommend this to my friends!

Igloo was great, 8 people was definitely the max! Menu is small but all the food was outstanding.

When we arrived for our 8pm reservation, we were seated about 15 minutes later and they told us no one was after us so we could stay longer than the two hours. It took about 15 minutes for the drinks to come. A lot of the food came out pretty salty but the food wasn’t terrible (just not worth the price). The waiter told us we had about 30 minutes when they finally brought out the food. We told him we were told from the hostess that we didn’t have a time limit. He came back and said there was a party at 1030 when they closed at 1130... seemed kinda fishy like he wanted to get out of there. Overall the service was not very inviting and I will not be back.

Domonique was our server and she was magnificent and attentive. The decorations were lovely and were awesome for pictures. The memories created were memorable.

Everything was great from the service and setting perspective. The food left a little to be desired. One in our group ordered the Sea Bass special and received the food significantly later than the rest of the table and then it was undercooked. Seems like someone dropped the ball in the kitchen. The manager did a great job in trying to resolve the issue so no complaints there. Just a heads up or area for them to improve on going forward from the kitchen and food prep side.

Service wise-We had Alex, who was great. She was attentive, friendly, and apologetic for the 2 pieces of plastic that were in the steak dish. However, would have expected an apology from a chef or manager, or even an appetizer on the house.
The ambiance was great, expected an igloo and seen the glass houses we arrived, and were super excited to be seated in one. A little music would have been nice, so we just turned on our cell phone to play in the background.
Food was hit or miss. Everyone enjoyed their steaks, though the temps were a little off. Beet salad and everything wings were great. Short rib grilled cheese was dry and salty.
Would eat here again for the igloos and service.

Great experience! Waitress was great and overall only complaint was the chicken was dry.

Super cozy private place to enjoy with friends and family. We played music from our phones because it was really quiet. The food was very good, especially the appetizers (tuna tartare, everything wings and frites). If you are going for just drinks I would recommend bringing a card game.

We went to one of the igloos. The service was great even though it takes longer for servers to make their way out to the igloo area. We did not get a choice between sitting at a table or sitting in low chairs so that was unexpected.
The food was great.
When I booked the igloo, I saw that we had to be there on time and that there was a charge to have the igloo, but I read wrong and in reality, we were renting the igloo for two ours and minimum consumption has to be $300. Our bill was only $76, so it was cool that they gave the option to buy a gift card. I don’t know if there was anything they could have done to make these conditions easier to spot on the restaurant page.

and our comp starters especially everything bagel wings.

The food and igloo were great! But - we weren't seated until 23 minutes after our reservation and didn't receive our drinks until 45 minutes after. On a busy Saturday I think there should be more staff to help and more time in between so people don't feel like they have to rush. Even 30 more minutes.

We celebrated my daughter’s graduation in a reserved igloo. The service was wonderful and the food delicious! Despite being freezing outside, it was very comfortable inside. The only complaint would be the minimum of $300 to meet which is a little hard with only 5-6 people (6 max persons for igloos). We didn’t meet it despite ordering multiple appetizers, drinks, a steak dinner, etc. We wound up buying a $55 bottle of wine to bring home and another steak dinner to get to the minimum. Other then than, it was a perfect evening and I would highly recommend it.

We had a group of 10 and were able to sit in the glassed in igloo. The food was amazing, the ambiance was fantastic. It was beautiful to sit in the igloo and see all the lights around you. We were there to celebrate a birthday and had a fantastic time.

They were out of many selections and the food we got was mediocre at best. Cool experience but disappointing meal.

Took my parents to Lumen for a fun holiday dinner. I had to confirm my reservation 3 times before arriving and I had the hostess, upon arrival, again remind us about the time limit. It all seemed a bit excessive and slightly uncomfortable.

When we arrived, we tried ordering at least 3 bottles of wine, all of which were out. It took almost 30 minutes to get a bottle that was in stock and delivered to the table. It was awkward that the server took the bottle away to decant. The bottle should remain at the table and the decanter brought out.

It’s interesting that there’s a time and spending limit, however multiple tables were there for drinks only. Also, people from the bar came out and just sat down in the igloos without anyone stopping them. When the hostess brought out the party to be seated, she asked these women to leave but two weren’t paying attention and remained seated for a few minutes. The hostess went back inside and didn’t manage the situation at all.

The food was excellent.

We just happened to stumble on this reservation, it was perfect, the server Rose, was great, she was attentive, sweet and funny.
The igloo was fun, the Christmas lights all around were beautiful to see through the igloo, the setting was intimate making our friend get together a memorable experience.
