About Dominica Rice-Cisneros Chef Dominica Rice-Cisneros is the heart behind Bombera, the beloved Oakland restaurant rooted in Mexican culinary heritage and California seasonality. A Chez Panisse alum with classical training in Mexico City and at El Tajín, Dominica has become a leading voice in California cuisine. She’s a two-time James Beard Award semifinalist, a vocal advocate for equity in the restaurant industry, and the recipient of countless accolades—including a spot on the Los Angeles Times’ 101 Best Restaurants in California.
