This place is always great when I come to New Orleans!
Excellent spot, great food, right on St. Charles. Good for family or friends. Large dining room so usually can accommodate if you need something on short notice. A good all around place that will probably catch on a bit more with time.
We had an excellent meal! We enjoyed the happy hour drinks then boudin egg rolls as an appetizer and I got the Iberville salad. The pablano ranch is AMAZING!!!
Amazing food choices and delicious drinks. Can’t wait to go back!
Good food, good service, couldn't ask for much more. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
The service was subpar due to Mardi Gras events.
We came with a reservation during a Mardi Gras parade to a half empty restaurant. My drink was watered down, the fish sandwich was mostly lettuce and the fries had been under the warmer too long. Salads we good however. Considering the number of empty tables, we waited 40 minutes for our food and then they brought everything all at once. In this city, there are so many other options!
The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. Nice place for my wife's birthday on the parade route.
We made reservations during one of the Mardi Gras parades, and when we got there the parade was active, and the restaurant was half empty. Despite being half-empty, the hostess still sat us at a table right by the restroom area, and so we got to enjoy our meal along with all the parade goers that were coming into the restaurant to use the restrooms. As for the food, it was average at best, and not up to NOLA standards.
Get the crawfish mac and cheese, it will change your life! We went here to kick off the Saturday of Mardi Gras and loved it. Neutral ground pack is a must!! 💜💛💚
Ordered the blackberry ribs, sugar cane pork skewers, and crawfish Mac n cheese to split. Everything was delicious !! One member of our group got the gumbo which she said was very salty and the slaw salad with fried oysters- the oysters were amazing but the salad was too much slaw (a whole plate!) and could have used some salad greens.
We love this place, and most of the food we’ve eaten has been five star, except for the po boys. They are very light on the fillings so are mostly bread. But the gumbo is great, and the grilled fish is delicious.
Waiter was excellent. Food was amazing just wish there was a little more of it lol...drink was very strong. Apparently we missed bottomless vodka but that's okay.
Lula was great! Had reservations during the parade. Food , cocktails, and service were excellent!
Kaegan, my server, went above and beyond for on Valentine's Day with a parade passing in front of the restaurant. He was great and made me a loyal customer. The lamb chops are amazing as well. Lula is worth the trip, and make sure you ask for Kaegan and the lamb chops.
We went to lulas on Valentines day before the Parades. They had so many tables open yet earlier I had tried to get a reservation and they said they were booked. So I got one through open table.
Our waiter Ryan was super friendly and attentive. He did a great job The burger was excellent and the chicken sandwich was good but we both wish we had gotten the burgers.
We have ate at Lulas several times before. Weve enjoyed all the food...especially the mac n cheese.
Service and atmosphere was great.
We were excited to go, but somewhat disappointed when we got there only to find out that the menu had changed that day. We went for Valentine's day a day day early to beat Mardi Gras which the parades started the next day,and they changed the menu that day for Mardi Gras which was disappointing. I am on a restricted diet due to health issues and that was one of the reasons we choose this restaurant but they were willing to make some substitutions that were on the abbreviated for Mardi Gras menu.
The food was amazing. Service was slow at times due to the brunch crowd. The atmosphere was loud , but overall it was a great experience.
Great service and atmosphere! We were the first clients of the day, but everything was ready and the service prompt. The food came right out and was delicious!
Our second visit to the restaurant (on a busy night). Oyster sliders, amazing! Must do the fried green tomatoes. I rolled the dice and had the skirt stake... it was very tender and tasty. My wife had a salad with flash fried oysters and couldn't eat them all. This restaurant is very nice, very clean, and has a very nice atmosphere. Reasonably priced for NOLA. It is becoming a regular stop.
Great food, service was outstanding. Reservation was on time and host was friendly.
Three of us went for dinner on a slow Tuesday evening. All three of us had great food, the staff was friendly and the service was good. Clean place with nice decor and good drink and appetizer specials if you get there before 7:00.
Not bad. Would definitely go back.
Had a delightful Sunday brunch here. Great location and service and excellent food. We were pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t crowded.
Very poor experience overall. We first had drinks at the bar which were poorly mixed. When seated for dinner, we had two different waiters come to our table at different times, as they were confused as to who had responsibility for the table. Our food came nearly an hour after we ordered and the appetizers and entrees all came at once. Food was OK, but nothing special. There are too many good restaurants in town to go to a place like this.
Friendly service. Not the ordinary menu. Loved the pork skewers, the coconut chicken soup, the rabbit and skirt steak. Even though we were full we had to try the desserts which were delicious too. We must return to try other items in the menu. We didn’t get to try their drinks but interested in trying next time.
Food was amazing and reasonably priced! Fun spot!
We all enjoyed our food & drinks. The pork osso bucco was delicious. I don’t normally order pork when I dine out, but I highly recommend this dish.
SHARP METAL WIRES were in my food! Imagine my surprise when I felt something weird in my mouth and it turned out to be random metal! There's no reasonable or logical explanation as to why metal should have been in my food. I ordered the buttermilk cornish hen, which came with dirty rice (the whole meal was dirty in my opinion) and coleslaw. The waiter’s handling of the situation was very lackadaisical. He only said “let me show them in the back” and upon returning “can I get you something else”. Well NO, I don’t want anymore of your food BUT an apology would be nice. The manager didn’t come over to apologize either. If there’s ever a reason for a customer to receive a personal apology from management, this was the time. The waiter took the meal off my check but still charged me for my drink. Seriously?? Your food almost caused me serious physical harm and you want $9??? Lula should be thankful that they did not cut the inside of my mouth or that I didn’t swallow them. I may as well talk about the taste of the food while I’m at it. I like salt, BUT the Cornish hen was so salty that it was sickening. The dirty rice was a poor attempt and the coleslaw was nothing special. This was a terrible first introduction to a restaurant and there will be no second chances here!
This was my first time at this restaurant and it was great. TJ was our server and he was amazing. The drinks were pretty strong, maybe I felt that way because I'm not a big drinker☺. I also felt the drink was a little pricey for the size of the glass. Since it was a daiquiri, I thought it would be in a larger glass. The crab avocado appetizer was absolutely one of the best appetizers that l have ever eaten. I highly recommend this place and I will be back.
A fun space on St Charles Ave w/ great food & service. Close-by parking usually available.
Will definitely continue to dine here regularly with only 2 regrets:
1. Strong, overpowering smell of whatever spray is used to clean tables.
2. Live music is good quality but way too loud, at a performance, not background level.
Both of these things are easily addressed so I'm hoping owner will.
We loved Lula! We heard positive things from a friend, and decided to try this place for dinner when family was in town. We really enjoyed everything - the drinks, the food, the service, and the ambiance. We brought a toddler with us, so we went a little early and as we were finishing up, there was a live band that sounded pretty good! The server was very attentive and accommodating, and everyone really enjoyed the meals (and the leftovers that we couldn't finish). Highly recommend Marge's tomato stack as an app and anything with the mac n cheese (veggie plate, crawfish mac n cheese). You won't be disappointed. Also, the space is very open, and there were a few large groups dining, so this is a good place to go for an event like a bachelorette party or birthday.
Went for my mother's Birthday. She really enjoyed her food and drink. Plan ro go again.
It was very nice. Our server John was enthusiastic and very sweet! He besides the amazing food was the highlight of our visit!
Always have a good experience at Lula! Good food! Good service! An old standby.
fun place to go and the food and service both make it worth the while!
