Luke Wholey's Wild Alaskan Grille
As the name implies, Luke Wholey's Alaskan Grille is a predominately seafood restaurant that has several fish based dishes on the menu. The restaurant has a separate section for children along with a bar menu that offers seasonal cocktails, a wine list and a special Draft list for beer. All of the beverages in the menu go well with the seafood on offer, but each can be ordered by the glass as well.
Luke Wholey's Alaskan Grille also boasts a separate sushi menu which is divided into a full 3 course meal. Traditional favorites include shrimp, eel, salmon, scallops, flying fish roe along with a variety of seafood rolls that range from shrimp and salmon to veggie and crab. The signature rolls on the menu include the Spider Roll which is filled with soft shell crab, fresh vegetables and sauces.
Best seafood around. We drive from Irwin and are never disappointed!
Delicious food and drink, friendly and fun environment in the bar area where we enjoy sitting for dinner. Service always good. Waiters and staff most attentive. Always guaranteed to be a good time!
We went to The wild Alaskan Grill for a birthday celebration. Our meal was very good. The drinks were well made. The restaurant was very noisy and crowded. Upon being seated, we discovered that the table needed cleaned. We did it ourselves. Our waiter was very pleasant, but seemed quite hurried. Overall, I had expected a bit more in service. We had requested dessert in our reservation and were not even offered a dessert menu. We do not eat out much, and looked forward to this, we may return for drinks and sushi, but not for a special meal.
Everything was great! The food and the adult beverages were amazing!!
Angie was outstanding! Had large group, 8 of them first timers. Great lobster bisque, land n sea and dessert was delish! Highly recommend for a special occasion!
Food is always great. Service was terrible. 20 minutes to get drinks and then an hour to get food. Then they closed the bar at 9 and told us to order what we wanted right now. Not great. Will try Penn Ave fish the next time.
Excellently prepared food
What more do you need ?
We loved the lobster bisque FF!!! They were worth every penny.
We went for brunch and had a wonderful experience. Our server was great, the drinks were well made and the food was excellent. We were able to sit outside and take in the atmosphere of the Strip District. It was our first time dining here and we will definitely be back. Overall really great experience!!
The service was terrible. Our server was unavailable from the moment we sat down and even when two incorrect meals were delivered to our table. Without even an apology or attempt to explain the mix up. For it to be a seafood place, the salmon I got was over cooked and my wife’s meal as well. The experience did not match the prices they charge.
The atmosphere is great, the service was very good. The food was above average but would expect better for the price and reputation.
Service and food was EXCELLENT! It was our first time at the restaurant and we were celebrating an anniversary. We will absolutely be back again!
The service and the food were awesome, but the noise level was uncomfortable, almost impossible to have a conversation. First time there, so don't know if this is the norm. There was a large crowd with name tags, so maybe that accounted for some of it. But the food was so good, I'd go back!
My husband's grilled salmon was very overcooked; extremely dry, tough, and tasteless. He stuck his fork in it and it stood up. It was as tough as a tough steak; we were shocked that a seafood restaurant would serve such overcooked fish. The server just shrugged and walked away when my husband told him it was inedible. When we had finished our meal and were about to pay he said it was too bad my husband didn't like the fish (which he didn't eat). He gave a casual offer to cook something else but we were about to go and declined.
Good service and good people we felt the portion was small but good. We would probably go back our waiter find out it was our anniversary we got free dessert
The wait staff gave the impression that we were a bother as our reservation was near closing time. The shrimp cocktail was warm, the filet was undercooked, the lobster roll was lobster claws on a bun with lettuce and mayonnaise, the king crab legs were decent but the fish tacos were dry and over cooked. Overall the experience was very poor. The meal was way overpriced, and I will not recommend or ever go back.
Food was warm (not hot), beer was warm (not cold), felt like a dinner at Chile's.
Everything was so delicious and service was fantastic
The food was amazing and the customer service was outstanding. Everthing was perfect. Best place in the city to get fresh seafood
One of our favorite places on the Strip. We have been there both for lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed! Sushi is outstanding! The sushi menu is not as extensive as a "sushi restaurant," but it has always had what we wanted in that regard.
The food was good but the wait from ordering until it arrived at our table was over an hour. There were only four people in our party and half of the dishes came out cold or over-dry from sitting under a heat lamp. I don't know what went wrong but the waitress did not offer an explanation and we had already been at the restaurant for over an hour and a half, so we ate and tried to leave as quickly as possible. The portions were all fairly small for the pricing except for the lobster roll, which was the most well presented dish we saw and it was cold and the bread was like concrete.
We never had to touch our champagne bottle. Excellent service. Great ice! Wonderful food. We paid about $200 but it was worth every penny. Will definitely go back. The lobster bisque is to die for!
Great atmosphere, wonderful service, fresh, quality seafood. We really enjoyed our meal!
I've eaten here many times. There is a great choice of seafood as well as sushi. The Lobster Bisque is amazing.
The sushi that we had for an appetizer was amazing. I had grilled halibut which was delicious. My husband had lobster which he enjoyed . This was our first time there. It will not be our last.
The staff were wonderful, personable and knowledgeable about everything. I wanted to try the soft shell crabs and added on be lobster risotto because I enjoy cooking it at home. While they upcharged me the risotto was bland and tasteless, no fatty or acidic or even salt or garlic flavoring just a mushy bland mess with one piece of lobster. We enjoyed everything else but this was a let down
Everything was absolutely delicious. My husband and I ate a variety, lobster bisque, crab dip (crabfest special), oysters, shrimp Cesar salad, crab cakes served with lobster risotto, and asparagus, then to top off the meal with a cheesecake with homemade carmel topping. Definitely recommended and we will for sure be returning. The service was great too.
Service was a bit slow but worth the wait( busy night). The food was terrific. A must stop in Pittsburgh.
After my daughter's and I were seated, were read the menu for about 13 minutes without anyone approaching to take orders, put silverware on the table nor supply us with water. The waitress finally came to the table and asked only 2 of the four guest what they wanted to drink. I said, "I didn't see the drink menu" which was placed on the table by the hostess. The waitress left and we did too! Very disappointing since it was a birthday celebration and my girls came into town for the occasion.
My husband and I were having dinner before attending a concert. Our server, Drew, was exceptional. He was quite knowledgeable about the seafood offerings and cocktail menu. His enthusiasm was genuine yet not overbearing. I believe he added to our positive experience at Luke Wholey’s. To start we both ordered a Bloody Mary which was by far the BEST I’ve ever had! Add shrimp and candied bacon just for an extra special treat! I like mine spicy, so I got mine made with infused vodka. Check our the menu, you’ll see what I’m talking about! Our appetizer was oysters and chilled shrimp! Delicious! For a main course we selected from the Crab feast menu and shared! A variety of steamed crab legs and a whole lobster plus potatoes and corn on the cob was not only a beautiful plate, but quite tasty. We were both satisfied. Our experience at Luke Wholey’s was top notch. We are looking forward to our next visit.
I went for crabfest with my mother and it was delicious. The food was beautifully presented as well! The best bloody mary I've had in a long time! Looking forward to going back, Highly recommended.
It was really awful. First, the cocktails were pretty bad (though the Bloody Mary was good). Then, 20 minutes after ordering, we learn that 2/3 of our orders were not available anymore.
So, we order something else. We discussed the menu at length with the waitress and ordered and she got 2/3 of them completely wrong. 15 minutes later, they arrive correct and they are average at best.
It is surprising that they have a fish market because most of the fish felt like it was pre-seasoned or pre-fried and frozen vs. freshly prepared. I could be wrong there, but I wouldn't do it again.
They were very apologetic about the mistakes and knocked 50% off of the 2 entrees, but there are enough good places in that area to not go again.
Service and kitchen are slow. This is a "sit back and take your time but worth it" kind of place.
Crab fest was amazing!
Great Lobster Bisque. Very good selection of a variety of foods. Reasonable pricing. Attentive wait staff. Very pleased and will go back.
Another fabulous meal at Luke Wholey's!! Celebrated a graduation with family and it was the perfect location. Food was delicious, especially the Catfish Bites appetizer and the Baja Shrimp Volcano. The Fish and Chips was also amazing and the portion was huge! Our waiter, Drew, was fantastic and helped make the meal extra special. You won't walk away from this place hungry or unhappy!!
First time there. Fabulous meal!
The food was absolutely spectacular and the bar made perfect summer cocktails.
Mother day and the service , food and ambiance was excellent - I would recommend this to anyone
The restaurant was cold from them
Having the door open and it’s cold in Mother’s Day
