Our last night on holiday and this was a great dinner. We enjoyed the buzzy restaurant - the staff were great and the food was good. The sprout dish was really tasty but the shrimp toast not so good. However it was removed from the bill with no problem. All in all excellent fun.
Best meal for us in a long time! Delicious brussel sprouts, hands down my favorite thing on the menu!
Great food, great service. I keep coming back.
When arriving at Luke there was a street party next to Luke where a band was playing and 200 people were partying to no end. We arrived at 6:50 and the noise level was insane, but lasted only until 8 pm or so. Overall the food was good but a noisy venue even when the band stopped.
Service and food were excellent!
I didn't realize we'd eaten here on our prior trip to NOLA, and we were happy to recognize it when we walked up since we'd enjoyed it so much then. Luckily the food didn't disappoint and we enjoyed a wonderful brunch here this year. Lots of variety on the menu and everything we tried was executed perfectly. It was a bit loud with the Sunday pre-game crowd heading to the stadium, but that also added some local color with all the Saints fans dressed to impress. The last time we were here we enjoyed it so much that we ate here twice in 5 days, and I'm thinking that will be the case this year too.
Get the shrimp and grits! They are amazing!!!!!!!!
Brilliant staff. Exceptional fare. A New Orleans must do!
Great experience! The food was delicious. Our wait staff were professional, friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back.
We had a great experience. Our server was super personable and attentive, and gave great service. Everyone enjoyed their food.
Luke is definitely not Bourbon Street, but thank god for that! Its in the opposite direction but only 4 blocks away and was a 15 minute walk from Canal Street. The hostess service was VERY poor and they didn't appear to know what they were doing. We arrived 15 minutes early and went to the bar for a drink per their suggestion as our table reservation for 7:15pm would be ready in 10 minutes. We ended up grabbing a drink and standing next to the hostess stand since it was so crowded at the bar. 7:20pm rolls around and the 3! hostesses just stood there talking, while numerous tables were left empty. I prompted their wake up and we were shown to our table. The food was awesome, our server was awesome and we all lived happily ever after! The End
Delicious food and great staff! Good selection of wines.
Acoustics are not good making it very noisy.
Been eating here for many years, mainly for lunch. For some reason, the kitchen seems to be heavy-handed with spices lately. I can remember having dishes that were not overly spicy, particularly the brussel sprouts on this occasion. The sauce was highly seasoned and there were way too many serrano peppers on top. Even our server said the sauce was overly hot. Don't understand why restaurants think people want really hot food. None of us were able to eat them. Our server and the manager were both apologetic though.
although the food was not bad, and our waiter was great, New Orleans food scene has way too many better places to make a visit to Luke worthwhile. I'm also particular to nice, thoughtfully decorated environments, not old-school white tablecloth with paper mat on top. Ambiance is a big part of the dinner experience.
Every time I go visit NoLa, I always make a stop at Luke for their happy hour. Great fresh oysters, friendly staff, and an excellent happy hour.
Excellent breakfast NOLA style. Coffee was amazing!
The atmosphere is nice, food was good, and our servers were great, but the host staff was dressed rather unprofessionally and were rather distracting the entire meal running around looking lost and stressed out on keeping up with reservations. Overall, nice restaurant, but would recommend management work on their host staff. Definitely lacking professionalism and polish.
Awesome food an service. We go here often and the food is consistently good.
You’ll get 5 star service and flavor in an atmosphere that can be as casual or formal as your time demands. It’s always busy so get a reservation in the evening. My wife and I frequent here because you can’t beat the food quality or service compared to some other high dollar places in town. Local fare and a great cocktail menu as well. Don’t leave NOLA without trying it!! If you are local we’ll see you there!!
The service was great the coffee delightful and our breakfast was wonderful. A great experience and a solid value. GOOD food with a special flair. put it on your list for a great meal! we were charmed by our server and the entire staff was very customer ordinated. The general noise level is moderate .
Luke had decent food but we did have issues with the local oysters. They tasted bitter. We told the waiter who said he'd send the manager over to talk with us. I saw them talking and the manager never came over. And she was just standing up by the check in stand doing nothing. He offered to let us have better oysters for the same price which we went for. Then when the bill came, they charged us for the higher priced oysters. The waitress corrected the bill but it seemed like a gaff all around. The staff seemed not well trained. It's an expensive restaurant and I would have comped the oysters for us and also made sure that one of the managers came over to talk with us. Also when we checked in at the front, two of the women seemed to be having some kind of tiff and the one that sat us down pushed the other one aside while the manager was standing there. There are soooo many good restaurants in New Orleans and we were just disappointed with the whole experience. The back of the house (kitchen) seemed to have their act together but not the front of the house. Can't believe we spent almost $200 on a meal that we really weren't that happy with.
Brussel sprouts were good. Ribeye and beef special were mediocre. Service was SLoW. Good location ...
Service has dropped off! 2 mornings in a row the waiters service was way off. Food still great.
Experience was poor. Ordered bottle of wine to start and when waiter came with half empty bottle I had to mention to him that the bottle was already open. Ordered Baked clams that came raw. Ordered Moules also came raw and were sent back. Disappointed from beginning to end. Lots of other great restaurants around. Bread was good though :)
The food was good but not great and the service was fine but the ambiance wasn't anything special as we were put in an extra room. Definitely think this place is overrated on Open Table.
I have dined here many times but our service was way off this most recent time. We never got the 2 soups we ordered as appertizers but it was on our bill. It was then corrected at our request. We had to request bread twice and drink refills were slow. It was disappointing, especially since I had 2 out of town guests with me.
Food was delish. Service was attentive but not obnoxious. Restaurant was a little loud.
Noise level rated as moderate due to rowdy football fans who came in. O/W quiet. Server Brenda was excellent. Prompt, courteous and professional. Highly recommend.
Luke is always solid. Great French Bistro type food with a New Orleans flair!!
Excellent meal and excellent service. We enjoyed our table in the back with a direct view of the kitchen action. Our meal was delicious and perfectly sized portions. Wait staff was friendly and attentive.
Food was wonderful. But the service was terrible. The waiter gave us our food and never returned, we couldn’t find him anywhere.
My steak was great but was a little to rare but I was unable to find someone to send it back.
I expect more from. Hilton establishment.
On our last night in New Orleans we were looking for a nice restaurant, not too expensive, but certainly more than some cheap cafetaria or something like that. On trip advisor we found Luke, which was not too far from our hotel and it had some good reviews on different platforms.
All in all we were not disappointed. We had a marvellous diner, especially the duck liver pate was outstanding!
As an entree we had shrimps gatouffee, which was also very nice.
Staff and ambiance is quite pleasant.
The only thing which we would have liked even better, was that the atmosphere was quite noisy.
Best Shrimp & Grits EVER !!!! Can't wait to come back!!!
Excellent food with big portions. The service was great and incredibly fast!
Great food. Great service. Really enjoyed it. Very generous portions.
What a great find. Great waitstaff and some amazing dishes not found anywhere in Nola. Stuffed P spinach, Emmenthaler cheese, country bread croutons which was huge but we finished the whole thing. Next we had the Pork Schnitzel wild mushroom gravy, housemade fries. Normally we would not have picked this but since Luke is known for its Alsatian/German take on New Orleans cuisine we decided to try it. Melt in your mouth pork and perfectly seasoned. We finished with PEI mussels with a Cajun twist. Be aware: as stated above, come hungry. Then you won’t be disappointed.
Food was very tasty, service was slow. Ran out of water multiple times, waited 15-20 minutes before they even took our drink order. Didn’t come by to check on us for a long time after the food was delivered so we weren’t able to order a second round of beverages.
Usually a great place but the service of slow, server failed to check on our table, and food was overcooked. Overall a disappointment.
