The food was great and the service well done. The only issue was the noise level which bordered on the ridiculous.
Have reviewed 4 other Italian Restaurants in MB over the past 4 months and have to say that Luigi's is now my #2 behind Sole. Food, and service are equal to Sole, pricing is slightly better than Sole, but Noise, and Desserts are the two items that keep Sole as my Number 1 choice. I'll definitely go back to Luigi's but only on a slower week night when it may not be as noisy. Could not hear the person talking next to you. They do have tables outside that might be worth considering if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, also try to get a table nearer to the front near the entrance vs the extension in the rear. Also, unlike most places near 17, this is NOT on 17, you have to turn west on 61st street. It is just a block off of 17, but hard to see until you turn.
A restaurant with this reputation should make their own salad dressings. Disappointed...
However the entrees were fantastic.
My wife had the Shrimp Scampi she asked for angel hair instead of linguini our server Larry who was fantastic told her "no problem" she loved it and she loved her salad. I had cheese sticks which were good they could have used a touch of parm cheese to make them great.
The wedding soup was very good but I didn't get enough parm cheese from Larry that was my fault. The Osso Bucco was very good the sauce was a little bland in my opinion otherwise I would have given them a 5*. The Mango sorbet was the best dessert I have had in forever if they have it you have to try some
All in all it is great food, service & ambiance and we will go back.
Fresh Pasta, great service (thanks Philip!), and excellent desserts. As a Metro NYer who is REALLY apprehensive about Italian food outside NYC, I'll be back.
The food is good, but service is slow and it was much too noisy.
Do I get points for this dinner? Everything was excellent!
Luigi ‘s got it right from the authentic Italian great food to fantastic service. Our fav👍😊
First time visit for five of us. Saw ad & coupon in CF newspaper. Although coupon could not be used on “Early Bird” items, it didn’t matter . The food was totally authentic Italian & awesome. One of our friends had fresh clams w pasta in a white sauce & couldn’t stop raving about it.All of our meals were fantastic.A definite repeat in the future.. Also, our waiter, who spoke with an Italian accent was cheerful, pleasant & attentive.
2nd time enjoying Luigi's great ambience and food. Accordian player was walking around but not near us. It was noisy but tolerable. Mikey was once again our server and full of playful banter. Service was fast, seating was on time (made reservation) and we all enjoyed our evening.
This restaurant never misses , great atmosphere and unbelievable food from appetizers to desserts. Not a bad item on the menu and did I mention the fresh bread and the garlic infused olive oil to get your dinner started? . You won't be disappointed
Hostess rude. Waiter rude. Drank air most of night since couldn’t get refill. Water abrupt and kept slamming things on glass table top table. Food sat for while before coming to me you could tell. Salad watery. Food bland and not as described ingredients not present in food?
Friends recommended Luigis to us. Everything would have been great, the food, bartender and waiter. However, the young male host was quite rude and unfriendly. Will not be back
Whenever we vacation in Myrtle beach, we make it a point to have dinner here. My husband and three little boys love the food and the atmosphere with warm lighting, live Italian music, and excellent service. We had to wait to be seated despite having a reservation, but even still we’ll come back here again and again. One of my favorite places of all times!
A hidden gem in Myrtle Beach. We had a group of 7 people and everyone enjoyed their meal. I will definitely be back.
The food was excellent!!! We had the veal parmesan and the chicken piccata. Both were absolutely delicious! There was live accordian music which was very charming and really added to the experience. This is a must if you're in the area. For the quality of food I thought the price was exceptional.
Mickey was our server and was fantastic. The food was delicious!
Surprisingly very good food for Myrtle Beach. Nice clean restaurant. Fresh homemade taste. Live accordion player. However for the age of the player he had no knowledge of the classic Italian music. Still worth a stop in you are in Myrtle Beach.
Just a note. I did call to make reservations earlier in the day for 10 people. I was told that it was booked. However open table did allow me to make reservations on line and the table was ready when we arrived.
I always love going to Luigi's when we come to Myrtle Beach. The food was and is always phenomenal and our waitress was very sweet until I handed her a coupon published in one of the tourist coupon books for 10% off. I guess she thought it would detract from her tip, however, we always apply our savings from our bill to the server's tip, as their job is very difficult. She wasn't rude, she just seemed a bit deflated, and when I handed her a cash tip she quickly wished us a good night and walked away. I bet when she saw how much cash I handed her for her tip, her mood may have brightened! We will definitely come again, as we love this restaurant and all of the staff.
The food was very good. Everyone was very friendly and the service was great! We loved the accordion player. He was very entertaining.
Excellent Italian food and great value too!
Seated promptly, waited on and served promptly and excellent food! What more could you ask for!
Excellent Italian food! We are from NY and were blown away at how wonderful the food and service were. Food compares to the best Italian food we’ve had.
A fine neighborhood establishment with many traditional choices and several surprises. Their bread was crispy, yet pillowy, served with a fragrant herbed olive oil. The Caprese featured the same olive oil along with a beautifulIy robust balsamic that was nonetheless soft on the palate. The Zuppa Del Giorno on the day we dined was Manhattan-style clam chowder, which had a wonderful smokiness that was a delightful counterpoint to the sweetness of the tomatoes. We had calamari twice, as an appetizer, fried with a very thin coating, as well as in the Zuppa di Pesce, and it was among the most tender we have ever had. The Seared Scallops with Basil Risotto was excellent and the Alfredo with Shrimp earned rave reviews. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. Overall an excellent choice for any occasion.
Really good food consistently. Mussels and shrimp over pasta in red sauce quite good. Chicken parm as well
The service is consistently good and food is always delicious!
Great food and service in an intimate relaxed environment. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Myrtle Beach.
The food was excellent and the portions were large for the price. The service was excellent as our waitress Stephania was very attentive to our needs and considerate to my girlfriend’s food allergy. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it for excellent Italian food.
Authentic. Family run. The homemade gnocchi and vodka sauce....no words for how good that was. This is a definite must for all!
We were a group of 5 and all of us enjoyed our dining experience and will return. Several of us had pasta dishes: one manicotti, one lobster ravioli and one spinach ravioli each dish had a different sauce and all were delicious. Also one person had the grouper and another the seafood special both were, in their words “delicious”. Great service and value. An excellent choice for pre Carolina Opry Show meal.
We were visiting from out of town and decided to go for a nice sit down italian meal. The food completely exceeded our expectations!! It was incredible - everything from the appetizers to our meals, and wine included! The service was also really great!! My fiancé and I can be quit particular, but this dining experience truly got a 10/10 from us! I wish we lived closer so we could go back!!
The food was very good and the prices reasonable for the amount of food per serving. My one complaint concerns the salad dressing. It was very runny.
Always love the food and amazing staff and owners. Great place to go! Definitely a hidden gem.
We had read great reviews and they were all right. The food was amazing. Truly enjoyed it.
Great food for good value during Early Bird dining.
Great food. Great price. Good wine. Generous pours.
First timer. Dinner was outstanding and service was great! Definitely on our list for future vacation dinner.
Nothing Italian about this place. The owner is from Albania thus the food is not of Italian quality. We won’t go back.
We go to Luigi’s every year and it’s always great. It’s old school, old fashioned Italian cooking which we love. Service is excellent. Prices are reasonable. Just loove it. I look forward to going every year.
We found this place late on a Sunday night and they accommodated us very well. The food was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. We will definitely be back!
