We were very excited to try Ludlow for the first time. We unfortunately will not be coming back. We ordered 3 starters and they were beyond tiny, also the fact that 2 basic deviled eggs were $5 is mind blowing. Idk why I thought they'd maybe be something special but they were none of the such. The seafood martini was so so squishy. Like it had been boiled a few days ago and just kept chilled. The spinach dip was over cooked and the cheese was hard as a rock. This with one house red and one beer rang in at $50. Terrible value for the quality we received. We left and went elsewhere for dinner bc we didn't want to chance anything else. 55 south had a huge AMAZING portion of deviled eggs ($6) with all of the fixins, bacon, and spicy pickles.
Great service from the staff. Restaurant was very smoky. Food was very satisfying. Would go again.
Food was incredible
We had a great meal and wonderful service. Looking forward to going back again.
We enjoyed our experience and highly recommend! Have always had great service and great food.
Wonderful restaurant, great food and excellent service!
While it was nice to see the restaurant busy, the service was poor, and it was a little hard to get past the smoke inside from the grill.
Our meal was good- we both had fish and two veggie sides. The preparation of the fish was very tasty.
I won’t be in a hurry to go back - it was expensive and was not a standout in any category.
Food and service was great!
Great dinner except for Shrimp Cocktail. It was mushy and not good. Steaks great and Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes were excellent
Greg food - very good attentive waiter - good value - selection of wine 🍷 above average for price range.
Overall everything was just okay. Service was nice and friendly but a bit slow. Due to the weather they couldn’t get a shipment so ran out of steaks which is not their fault but disappointing when going to a steakhouse. The food we did get was good and flavorful but luke warm. Overall for price point would have expected better.
Service was poor, slow and kept forgetting everything. Took an hour to get our order taken, another hour for him to come back and tell us our appetizer was unavailable and then finally got our cold food which was replaced with more cold food. Unfortunately cannot recommend as this was not our first bad experience here.
Incredible food and service. 100% satisfied each and every time.
The macaroni was terrible. It had zero flavor. The NY STRIP was delicious. The half chicken was well seasoned. The trophy wife drink was also very good. They catalysts drink was extremely spicy but it was infused with jalapeño. The Brussels sprouts are highly recommended.
It was cool however, I came with expectations I did not get. You guys should have advised that you were using an altered menu for Valentines Day.
My date came here from Memphis and our expectations were shot all the way down. I was really looking forward to the Sea Scallops or Shrimp and Grits for my dinner. Neither was available.
We also came there for oysters. I am so glad we did not rush there for happy hour as I was told you did not have happy hour that day due to Valentines. About the oysters, I know you have $1 oysters for happy hour, well, we ordered a dozen, which you charged $32 for on that day. Your regular menu says $24 for a dozen. So, not only did you hike the price up, but the oysters were so tiny! I mean ridiculously small. I felt like we were served the $1 oysters for top mkt price. I had a conversation with a friend after that, and he was saying how the smaller oysters are the more expensive. So, maybe I need to do my oyster homework, which I thought I was an expert. But the oysters you all served that day was not worth $32. I’ve had my share, and I was not pleased with those.
The food was good overall. And the ambiance was really nice. It’s just that this was a special date, with a special friend. We looked you all up online together, and was really excited for what we were ready for. Instead we were kind of forced upon something else. It was Valentine’s Day. Cold outside. And reservations were slim to none. So we had to roll with the punches. Also, I live in Hendersonville. The total opposite side of town. So his travel from Memphis was not the only distance we took to get there. Possibly I’ll try again... One day.
My boyfriend and I as well as another couple dined in for Valentine’s Day dinner and had a wonderful experience! Our server was Ross who was so fun, paid attention to every detail and made our night wonderful! We will definitely be back and continue to tell others of our wonderful experience! Please give Ross all the praise for being so wonderful on such a busy yet special night. Our food and drinks were incredible and we can not wait to come back!
Restaurant was extremely smoky, are clothes smelled like smoke the following day. The food was good, but one of the steaks we ordered was over seared and the steak was charred. They did take care of the steak for us and their service was great.
Had reservations for 7pm on Sat night. It was fairly crowded- they sat us not long after we arrived, but after 20-25 minutes, we were still waiting on a server to come to our table. I told the host, and still waited another 5 minutes for the server to visit out table, without even an apology. Food was great, but not sure about the service.
We waited awhile to be seated even though we had a reservation. The staff didn’t seem prepared for the 7 PM arrivals. Once seated it took over 10 minutes to be greeted by our server. Once greater our server was awesome she was very attentive and the food was good. My fiancé’s steak was overcooked but mine was prefect. Overall we enjoyed our experience however I will say it was probably a one and done restaurant for us. For the price I would prefer other steakhouses in the area.
My husband and I ate here for Valentine’s Day. This was our first visit here & we enjoyed our food here. Crawfish hush puppies are a must!
The only negative was that the restaurant seems a little smoky. I’m not sure if they have an open kitchen or what was going on. It was really cold that night so maybe they couldn’t open a back door for ventilation. But overall it was a great dinner & I would return.
Bad experience, forget to bring salads, one of the deviled eggs tasted like rubber and my ribeye was overcooked and was something you would expect at Golden Corral not at this restaurant! Very disappointed and way overcharged for food quality! Sides were good!
Honestly we were shocked at how crowded it was. I am pregnant and didn’t feel safe. We had people at other tables 2-3 feet of us. We have eaten out a decent amount during the pandemic and this was way different than all other experiences. This was the closest we have been to people since March 2020
We had a great experience! The staff was friendly and the food was outstanding! I’d like to go back!
Food was good- but no real social distancing- they were operating at full capacity.
We went early at 5:45 on Friday 2/12. For most of our time, there were no people at the immediate tables around us, however by the time we were finishing up, he place was totally packed and people are sitting within 2 feet of us all the way around. We saw several people come in and leave due to it being so crowded and no real way to practice social distancing.
we have been frequenting restaurants in Nashville that are operating at lower capacity and offer much more space for patrons. So while it’s a nice restaurant, it’s not a place we will choose go again unless we know that it is lower capacity or we are past the Covid mindset.
Love the salmon! Great way to celebrate valentines!
Very friendly staff, and extremely good food! I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for exceptionally good seafood for a decent price. (Especially around Nashville, and this far inland.) I just moved to the area from the coast of NC, so I'm very picky about my seafood quality being as I used to buy it fresh caught that morning from a vendor at the beach, should I have had the craving, and this place definitely exceeded my expectations. 10/10
This is the perfect place to come to celebrate wins, anniversaries, and remembrances. The cost is directly proportional to the quality of the experience and food.
Seafood gumbo was excellent. The brisket tacos were not very impressive, and it was one of their specialties. Unfortunately, something had burned in the kitchen, and the ventilation was not good. Our eyes started to burn from the smoky haze. I would give them another chance.
Today wasn’t the usuals all of us had food we didn’t like- burnt and portions substantially smaller.
Excellent Service and Filet cooked to perfection.
It’s a very nice restaurant but very busy. Waitress didn’t get food order totally correct but it ended up working out in the end, seems that the kitchen doesn’t have enough people working in it or it’s not run efficiently cause it takes way too long to get your food out even if it’s an appetizer, but the food is very good,
We cannot say enough good things about our experience at L&P. Our waiter was so helpful when asked about favorites and preferences. The food came out quickly and was so good. The fried pickles were the best we have ever had even surpassing what we get at the Minnesota state fair! The filet was tender and cooked perfect and the Salmon was smoked to perfection. There were so many other things on the menu that we wanted to try so we will be back!
Food, wine, cocktails and ambiance was all very good, service was very slow, but the waiter did apologize and stated they were understaffed that night. Food is quite pricey for the portions but it is very tasteful and presented well on the plate. Will go back again, especially to the bar for happy hour.
Steak was great! Frites were lacking. Good server, and pleasant individual. Extreme lack of social distancing between table/patrons.
After this experience, I can say I will never step foot in this restaurant again. No drinks delivered until 45 min after seating. Had to flag down servers to get order put in. Cleared our own dishes to a dirty table beside us. Manager never came around to check on us, even after we flagged him down for water. Food came out overcooked and on tiny plates that made the food fall off the plate when trying To cut it. I really have loved this place in the past, but can say I’ll never return after how I was treated. Big bummer for a Brentwood local.
Poor service and extremely slow. Took 20mins for our drinks, and an hour after ordering we were told they were out of an item we ordered. And the staff does not do a good job of cleaning tables. At one point, there were 5 open tables around us that were fully of dirty dishes. Frustrating because this place has lots of potential, but is poorly run.
Loved the food! It was our 8th anniversary, we were so delighted with the complimentary champagne toast waiting for us at the table when we were seated. We had the Crab cakes & Strip, both were delicious. The Red Velvet cake was excellent way to finish! Service was perfect, the booth seating was very comfortable.
The food was very tasty and well made, however, it was room temperature when we got it. Our server was overwhelmed and not super friendly, but he didn't do anything wrong. I just feel if you're in a place like Ludlow & Prime, you should have exceptional service. Our drinks took at least 10 minutes if not longer. My steak was really good. The salmon was a burnt.
Salmon - very good flavor, but burnt
Steak - cooked perfectly; a little room temp though
Truffle mac & cheese - very good flavor, not enough cheese and room temperature
mashed potatotes - good, room temp tho
ceasar salad -- one of the best dressings I've ever had, however, very little dressing on the salad.
No one asked if we wanted fresh cracked pepper; when we were finishing up -- we were the last couple in his section in the back. He was cleaning up and making it very obvious we needed to leave.
The atmosphere here is amazing. Our seats were a little disappointing given we made a reservation for an intimate dinner for two. We were in the middle of the room, so it felt a little awkward....tables of two should be towards the edges because it's often a date.
Possibly give the option at reservation time to better select.
Will certainly return, but I will specifically ask for a seat on perimeter and warm food. We LOVED the atmosphere and flavor of food.
For the price, the meal was rather disappointing. Side dishes seem to be of no importance to the kitchen as rice came out cold and brussel sprouts came out burnt. They did credit us some on our bill and replaced the rice (despite the host seeming annoyed that we complained), but after spending $40+ on cocktails and waiting 45+ minutes for our two dishes (both fish, not steaks), we really expected better. Our previous visit from a few months ago that would have probably received a 4/5 review is why I'm giving this 2 instead of just 1 star. It's a shame, I was hoping to come back on a more special occasion to try one of their steaks, but not any more.
Got seated right away. Attentive service the entire time. Had the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer- very good. Great lobster roll (served cold or hot , we chose cold) . Also had the roast chicken with potatoes and carrots. Chicken had a great flavor but it was tough and dry- wouldn’t order again. Had the cheesecake for dessert... it wasn’t bad but also nothing to get excited about.
