Lucy's Seafood Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
The relaxed atmosphere of Lucy's is inviting and doeen't even feel like a restaurant but like you're at home. At the same time the service is prompt and the waitresses are friendly and asking if you need anything else. I would definitely return and encourage my friends also. The chicken liver & mushroom appetizer was interesting in a good way. We each choose two different dishes, Salmon & the Seafood Jamalaya and we were both satisfied. For desert we shared the bread pudding and it was fabulous. I had coffee and they offered to refill. Service was well-timed and friendly, and the prices were affordable.
Party of 6 - pecan-crusted trout, halibut fish and chips, mahi-mahi with creole chutney, kids' coconut shrimp, gluten free chicken and shrimp penne - all cooked to perfection. Portions excellent. Even the Bacon-wrapped scallops as shared starter were melt-in-your-mouth. - Portion of only 4 left us all wanting more. Staff, service - never disappoint. Friendly greeting owners always a plus. We've been patrons for several years but the addiiton of gluten free options has 'sealed the deal' - making Lucy's our go-to place.
Sorry, this is a great spot, the food is great and if you want to go with someone you do not want to talk to, it is even better. But, if you want to have a chat, maintain a discussion with you guests, then Lucy's is becoming a place to avoid. Lucy's needs to invest in some sort of sound absorbing panels. The highest rating above is Energetic, but really is almost painful.
There is an impact - we have guests coming to stay with us in June, we would love to "show off" our favourite restaurant, but we won't be coming because we do not want to have a conversation that requires each of us repeating ourselves.
Please make the investment. We want to for the food, but we don't want to go deaf getting it. Thanks.
The Jambalaya was outstanding and my wife's shrimp dish from which she allowed me a couple of tastes was excellent. We have been her several times previously and the food is why we keep returning. The food and service have always been consistent at a high level. It could very well be the reason why Lucy's has been around for a while. Eat here!!
Have been to Lucy's several times over the years. The fish entrees are always well prepared. The veggies, on the other hand, could do with more cooking. They are almost raw although in good amount with the fish. I had the sweet potato fries when there and they were excellent. The corn bread is a nice change from the usual restaurant fare. The new decorative theme isn't quite as obviously "fishy" and the tables being further apart than previously does cut down on the noise considerably. We were there this time in a group of five at opening on Sunday and as the restaurant filled up it was quite noisy. The wait staff were attentive although not at your elbow every few minutes. I now live near Orangeville and do not get to Lucy's as frequently as before but it is always a welcome treat. My nephew from London, Ontario was looking for a restaurant after seeing a show in Toronto on his way home, found Lucy's, liked it so much that he added it to his telephone and has since included it on a return visit.
A casual charm with wooden bench tables, this restaurant is great with family friendly atmosphere. The food itself was mediocre with a sour (i suspect lemon juice) and salty sauce on the bottom of the fish dish we ordered. The escargot appetizers were bland. The jack daniels shrimp was good but expensive for the quantity and lack of presentation. While staff were generally friendly, we were surprised about a cake cutting fee (which they did forewarn). Overall, I would not recommend.
Thank you for a great Birthday Party for 20 people. Everybody enjoyed their meals and thought your menu variety was great. First timers to Lucy's said they will return. Your waiter / waitress were excellent. You made our party a great success, Thank You for accommodating such a large party on your busiest day of the year.
Our third time at Lucy's and brought my mom with us and she had a fabulous time. We had the halibut and haddock fish and chips which were excellent and my mom partook in the smoked salmon and shrimp penne, which she said was divine. She couldnt eat it all so we took home the leftovers which were still great even a day later. A guy at a table next to us had two entrees because he saw mom's pasta and wanted it. lol We will come again definitely as we would like to try the crab cakes and the crab legs and some of the other seafood dishes.
This is a seafood place but doesn't feel like the fish is fresh. Plus, it is crusted in all kinds of nuts or under salsa and sauce, so you barely taste the fish. Disappointed. I would maybe return for a quick lunch. Went there since I was out of town on business.
I used to live in Mississauga who've been to Lucy's many times 6/7 years ago, they used to be my favorite restaurant. Last Friday I was in town and dined back at Lucy's. The coconut shrimp was just as delicious as always. However I was a bit disappointed at the Mediterranean Salad. When I had the same dish 6/7 years ago the shrimp and scallops were plump, fat, and fresh. This time...frankly, were half the size and weren't as fresh as before. I hope this is just a one time thing. I would like to give them another try as I really loved their coconut shrimp and clam chowder.
Arrived at Lucy's on Thursday with the family of 6 for the wife's Birthday Party. Since we had an early reservation the restaurant was only half full. Quickly seated and our server, Michelle, showed up almost immediately with menus & wine list. Specials of the day were fresh oysters and Guiness on tap. Ordered the oysters along with jambalaya (ordered extra spicy) and naked lobster. Excellent choices on all counts. Oysters were very fresh & tasted of the ocean. The jambalaya was spicy as ordered and I should have taken half of it home with me but I ate the whole plate right there. Wife loved the lobster. Grandaughter Amy had the children's lobster (one-half lobster). Both she & her brother tried the mussels in garlic, butter & wine sauce for the 1st time and they couldn't stop eating them. Too full for a full dessert but since the wife had her birthday letter with her they actually doubled the complimentary dessert so we all had some. Thoroughly enjoyable as always.
I recently booked a dinner online for Lucy's Restaurant and we had a great dining experience. The open table booking is great its so easy and fast. The stuffed squid for our appetizer was so delicious, so tender and the mixed of cheese, jalapeños, was really good. I had the stir fry seafood and my husband had jambalaya. They were both delicious and big portions. The wine list is great too. The prices are really reasonable. Overall I recommend Lucy's to everyone for a perfect dining experience.
We have been to Lucy's many, many times in the last 10 years and have loved it. This time however, I was disappointed. The service was OK but the food was not done as well as usual.
The restaurant was really busy, but it usually is when we come in at an early time. We ordered some appetizers and they all came at different times. The dinners arrived but I felt my Halibut was over-cooked and my mother-in-laws shrimp and scallops looked that way as well.
Overall we had a nice time but since I have been here often I could see there were some issues. We won't give up on Lucy's just yet but they have to do better.
It was okay, mediocre really. Could have been so much better, atmosphere was lacking, food was just okay and the same for the service. I dislike when wait staff respond to a question about wine that they don't know as they don't drink wine, isn't it their job to learn about the products they are selling, it was the house wine not some obscure choice from the wine list. Wouldn't rush back.
We love this place! The food is amazing each and every time. Finding a restaurant that consistently puts out tasty food and provides great service...is a gem of a find. The prices are more than reasonable and the portion sizes are perfect. Although...I wish they would bring back the avocado and lobster salad...yummy.
Fish and seafood is fresh and well prepared. Prices are reasonable and food served with a smile. The place feels like home! Too bad we haven't discovered this place earlier, it is a real gem where you can get quality seafood and fish. Not too many of those around.
When you are looking for a good seafood restaurant, it doesn't get any better than finding one with good service, good food , and good prices! Lucy's definitely is all of the above! They even bought me a spice of cake for my birthday! And must I mention the buck a shuck Thursdays!! I will be visiting again very soon!
I love this restaurant and have been coming here with my parents for as long as i can remember. Recently went to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and it was great like always. the fish was amazing and so were the ribs. they got us brownies with a candle which was a nice touch. such amazing food and service.
Lucy's is one of my favourite places to eat - I work close by and will often drive in from out of town to eat there at night. The staff are all wonderful, and one has the feeling of being a 'regular', which is nice. The food is always perfect and offers a good variety for those in a group who may not care for seafood. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
We found Lucy's Seafood Restaurant quite by accident on the web. Our reservation was efficiently acknowledged at the door by the very pleasant host and we were whisked to a lovely table by the window. The view is nothing to write home about, but the lighting is better there. Our waitress came for our drinks order..what a lovely person..she's been in Canada for 20 years having come from Poland. Our drinks arrived promptly and she gave us 'a few minutes' to choose our lunches. All four were perfectly prepared and presented. I had the Curry Chicken and Shrimp Pasta..just the right amount of curry spice with a lovely home-made pasta and 6 good sized shrimp. My friend had the blackened salmon on a bed of greens; her husband had the seared tuna and my husband had their signature dish, Jumbalaya. The prices are great for the quality of the food and the service. We'd highly recommend Lucy's to any fish or seafood lover.
Food is always great, however we had a late reservation, and the quality of both our appetizer and steak was not up to the usual. Still good, but missed the usual mark. The Oyster Rockefeller had sat under the heat lamp too long and became crusty, still tasty.....and steak order was Medium Rare, I found it more on the Rare side and somewhat cold when served. Still tasty, just not up to the usual quality.
