Lucy Liu Restaurant
Take a journey through Southeast Asian cuisine sampling hot, sour, salty and sweet plates like a Sticky Braised Pork Belly with Red Chilli and Coconut Salad or a Slow Roasted Short Rib Rendang with Turmeric Pickles and Sambal. Match these with fresh and fruity cocktails in our bar while you wait for your casual table to be ready or sit down with a Coconut Mojito on arrival. Minutes from the MCG, Rod Laver Arena and right in the heart of Melbourne Lucy Liu’s great for any occasion.
Second visit and the food was amazing. Wait staff were super attentive. It topped off a great night out!
Amazing food and service. Can’t recommend it highly enough
The best. Love the freshness and fragrances of all the ingredients, it makes the food pop.
Second time dining at Lucy Liu and absolutely amazing yet again. The food is outstanding and the service impeccable. Keep it up.
I came with my family for my 21st birthday, and paid almost $700 for a Let Lucy Choose menu. I was utterly disappointed with the food chosen. It seemed we got all the unpopular meals and the chosen menu was, upon asking what the set menu was the waitress told me there was no point reciting the menu because I would forget....Other staff were also very abrupt. Very disappointed in the service and food for something we were all looking forward to. We were also hurried along for our table 15 minutes before our setting session ended. Definitely not worth my money or time again. Won’t be back.
The salt and pepper chicken ribs and crispy pork bao with kimchi were divine but the real standout was the blue cod that we had with Asian green and rice. So delicate, refined and yet comforting.
Service never left us asking and the waiter was perfect.
One of my favourite restaurants! Amazing food and cocktails!
Exceptional quality dinner, at good value and pace. Dinner was prior to a show, so we had limited time. The beauty of Lucy Liu is that you can quick, but also settle in for a long lunch/dinner and the value is great either way, for the quality of the food and wine.
We LOVED Lucy’s the food was outstanding , the service was warm and also outstanding. Would highly recommend
We were a party of 6 and had an amazing dinner at Lucy Liu. While service were attentive to all aspects of food service, there were a few times were all glasses were dry and a half full bottle of wine was being kept on a seperate table.
We are not young in fact we are grand parents and this dinner voucher was a gift.
But what an absolute pleasure to dine at this fun trendy colourful extremely pleasant venue.
The food was excellent, the service attentive and the ambience - exhilarating, just what we needed to step outside our "normal"
We look forward to returning.
Delicious food, attentive service and great atmosphere. Food could have been a little hotter but otherwise perfect!
Two of us sat at the bar watching food being prepared. This was an entertaining experience. The food was first class with some unique and exotic flavours. The dumplings, while quite expensive, were superb as was the pancakes.
We were constantly looking round for a drink waiter. When we wanted one we could find anyone; when we didn't want one, there they were.
This is certainly not a 'cheap' place to eat but you get what you pay for and pay for what you get.
Yep - I would go back for a special occasion. RusLex
Food was timely and and delicious! The staff were very helpful and provided quality banter.
The food was amazing. Very quick service. Would definitely go again.
Bubbly and comedic service, non stop delicious food and well designed separate dining area! Will be going back
Best food! Best service! Thank you PJ from PD you made the food taste even better with the outstanding service you provided. I pick Lucy Lius over chin chin every time I visit Melbourne.
Good food, friendly staff and good ambiance.
Busy place but really good overall.
Great food, location and warm and friendly staff. Had a fabulous experience.... especially loved the spicyness of the food!
Lovely night all round
Beautiful, accommodated dietary requests with ease. Made for such an enjoyable night, great venue for friends to catch up and chat and share amazing food!
I think Lucy Liu is the best asian food in Melbourne! Great atmosphere, outstanding service and the food is AMAZING!
Fabulous, food, service and ambience! Will be back for sure!
Brilliant food, grest service and lovely wine! Will keep coming back!!
Everything we ordered was Devine! The pork hock was our favorite.
The food was absolutely amazing, you may pay a little more but it’s worth the money. The quality and flavours were so delicious.
The dishes are a bit expensive but they are full of flavour.
Fabulous lunch, food delicious, presentation amazing - will certainly be on the to do list for future trips to Melbourne, highly recommend.
Awesome restaurant! This was my 3rd time there and will definitely visit again next time I'm in Melbourne. The food was outstanding and the staff a lot of fun!
The second time that we’ve visited in a month an it didn’t disappoint. As expected, it was quite busy so it was quite noisy in the restaurant but we also had a waitress who was a little standoff-ish- but I’ll put that down yo her just having a little bit of a bad day. All in all a great place to come with friends prior to a football game or show. The prompt service makes it a breeze to be in and out in an 1 - 1.5hrs.
This is my fourth visit to Lucy Liu and it never disappoints. The food is delicious and beautifully presented, and the staff and friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I shall return!
The staff were extremely welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was brilliant - well-presented and absolutely delicious. I thought seven courses for under $70 was excellent value for money too. Thank you for a great night out!
Great food, but appalling attitude once you have been at table for 1 hour 46 minutes, especially when they control speed of service. The brutal “you must now leave” end ruined our entire evening
Delicious, fresh food best enjoyed with friends over many share plates. The salt and pepper chicken ribs and beef short rib rendang were highlights. Excellent, prompt and friendly service
Truly fun and food-a-licious place to come into. Kind of 'speak-easy' entry way prepares you for the explosion of smells, sounds and vibration of music that fills the place. The energy created sets the stage for the food that comes quickly and consistently hot, plated well and truly delicious.
Wait staff are knowledgeable, quick and willing to exchange ideas. Somelier was unexpectedly aware and prepared to make suggestions. Replaced a glass of wine that obviously had gone off with absolutely no drama. And that's a big deal. So kudos to him, and to Lucy Liu management.
We intend to return with guests next time in May.
Have been to Lucy Liu on four occassions, it never disappoints. Make sure you try the duck!
The music is worth going to this place alone, let alone the food. Awesome place, quality food, good service - no complaints and I visit often.
Definitely visit again & recommend to all our Sydney friends
Packed to the rafters and good vibe, friendly staff
I was disappointed overall with most of the food we ordered.
The Thai fish cakes were actually nuggets, or bite, they did not resemble anything like a fish cake. just a hint of fish flavour, very strange texture, the sauces made then more edible.
The barramundi dumplings were nice.
The calamari salad and green papaya salad were almost identical in ingredients. Why didn't the waitress tell us this? The chilli was too hot, my mouth had sores. it was very unpleasant, dressing was far too acidic on top of this. Q: do the chefs check how hot the chillies are or if the sauce is not too acidic?
The rice was a cool balm after the salad and the duck was perfect... sweet and delicious.
Was a wonderful night. Thank you for making my sons birthday so pleasant.
