Lucky Robot is the 1st sushi restaurant in Texas to partner with the James Beard Foundation and Monterrey Bay Aquarium sustainability programs. We are committed to healthy oceans.
Our kitchen is lead by 2 time Ora King Finalist Jay Huang. Fish is flown in from around the world, including from Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo. We offer local, farm to table and organic produce whenever possible.
We want to present the bright lights, fun Tokyo experience and the best sushi in Austin. Cheers.
ive been a lot and its my favorite sushi place! the chicken teriyaki is bomb and so are the california rolls!! this place made me LOVE sushi!
Service was Amazing - Emelio was very helpful and attentive! Food was Unique.
Love that they have such great vegetarian options!
Sushi is amazing. You absolutely must order the devils tail sake
Everyone, from the hostess to the wait staff to the sushi chefs, was phenomenal. Food was amazing. 10/10 would dine here again!
There wasn’t quite enough space for our party, but they were very busy and still very kind!
The Brussels sprouts are a must!
We had an excellent and knowledgeable server. We couldn’t decide what to order so we left everything up to her. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We came in happy and left happy. 15/10 would recommend!
Outstanding vegan options! Amazing sophisticated presentation of vegan rolls. Servers and host were welcoming and professional.
Yummy food with great service. A little pricey but great compared to Uchi.
Must go back absolutely delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Delicious, best brussel sprouts ever and the sushi was outstanding! Great service too
Everything started out great! Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful in navigating the menu and with food and drink suggestions. After we received our first drinks and our first few plates, our server kind of disappeared. It wasn’t very busy, so I’m not sure what happened, but we were never checked on or asked if we wanted another drink or more plates until the very end. So it kind of put a damper on the experience. But the food was incredible and the value is really amazing.
Our server, Austin, was sooo nice and fun. Delicious wine. Delicious food. Mom ordered pork belly bite and one more after we paid our tab haha
It was a beautiful lunch with a great atmosphere, felt very valued as a customer. The bots are pretty wonderful too.
Girlfriends birthday - loved it!
Expensive but so delicious. And definitely worth it- the salmon sashimi was outstanding.
Delicious! Kinda small inside (make a reservation!) but super cute and a few nice covered spots outside. I have gotten the sushi but this time I got the school girl bowl ($11) and was impressed with the taste and value. Definitely recommend:)
The food was amazing! Our server, Kain, was exceedingly helpful when presented with 3 very different options and he was able to describe them all and guide me to my choice. I felt the prices were on point for the product and I really enjoyed that the staff were very friendly with each other. Happy workers makes a happy meal. Thanks guys!
The food took FOREVER to get to the table. Was great once it got there, but it took an absurd amount of time to get our sushi.
Love this place …good food, great service and an all around cool spot!!!
Our server was friendly and accommodating, and even gave us a free mimosa despite it not being on the menu for Memorial Day. The food was delicious and our server set the expectation up front that not all dishes would arrive at the same time. Great place to share multiple dishes. Gender neutral one-person bathrooms were great too - sign where you’d typically see “men” or “women” read “Whatever. Just wash your hands.” I will be back for a date night next time I’m in Austin!
Delicious and totally fresh sushi!!
Environment is very casual and cool but not fancy.
We had a birthday reservation. When we arrived, we were originally seated right next to the host, in a booth that was very small & felt like we would be basically sitting at the host stand. It was clearly an after thought. We requested an actual table, and offered to wait if our reservation was messed up. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We enjoyed everything except for the fig appetizer (which wad the priciest item were ordered). There was nothing offered for the birthday, and no birthday salutations of any sort. We would recommend others driving here, but not for a special occasion. It was somewhat disappointing.
The atmosphere and ambience is great. It’s right off south congress so it’s an easy attraction.
Food came out “as ready” which is normally okay with me. Unfortunately, the disparity between dishes was a bit uncomfortable. Some of my friends food came out within 10 minutes, and two people waited over 45 minutes to get their rolls. It was awkward, to say the least.
The most insane Japanese restaurant I've been to in years. Horrendously disorganized, orders take forever (an hour for an avocado roll in a half-empty restaurant.
Everyone is very welcoming and the place is modern and comfortable. Its nice to have knowledgeable waitstaff that is happy to explain in detail your menu. The food is amazing in taste and presentation. Don't miss the brussel sprouts!
Delicious food, excellent service, fun vibe! We’d definitely go again on next trip.
Food - Wonderful
Indoor Seating-Nicely Comfortable, Appropriately Decorated
Great ambiance. Cool location. Lot of food for the money. Good value. Service ok.
Decided to try based on its great reviews. Was not disappointed! Really great food!
Servers were slow and rarely checked on us which was kind of annoying but good other than that.
Fun dining experience. Very austin.
We came to see the cherry blossom installation, and it truly was beautiful!! However, the exposed A/C ducts dripped water on me and several of our guests multiple times during the meal. We asked for some assistance early on, and instead of moving us, someone came out with a towel tied to a broom stick to dry the condensation off. I had another water drop land on me 5 minutes later. Food was good, but service was disorganized with the meals coming out at different times for each guest. My wine glass sat empty for 30 minutes & and I was never asked if I wanted another glass. Overall - it was ok, but I had higher expectations given the price.
The pros: The food is excellent. The Sake bar is one of the best in the city (if not one of the best I've ever had). The food is inventive, colorful, delicious -- everything you'd want or expect. One of the sashimi dishes features fish flown in daily from Japan (probably some of the most excellent raw fish you'll eat). The staff were utterly knowledgeable, articulate, and friendly. The decor was bright, colorful, and original (with a rather noteworthy bathroom, of all things).
The cons: The portions are not large -- this is more like Tapas than dinner -- and that isn't exactly apparent on the menu. This can make the meal more expensive than one may have planned for originally (we ended up ordering two more entrees to be satisfied). The staff can be slow to check on the table during crunch hours. The space is small -- you'll likely be eating within arm's reach of a stranger.
I love this restaurant and there food is amazing, though the service isn't or miss. Around 5-6 theres a shirt change that isnt well organized and can cause great delays in service.
Do not come here to celebrate anything. They’ll take $700 from your party of 8 and cut you off once you have a buzz. Baffling.
Originally from NYC, looking for Nobu-ish Sushi. Lucky Robot fits the bill perfectly. In addition, they have an incredible menu. I will return often.
Great Food! Quality products! Amazing service! I love this place so much, it's one of my go-to Japanese food spots in Austin. Also, go check out the new updates to the restaurant! If you go soon, you may even get to check out the cherry blossoms. Just go!!
Food was delicious and well prepared and we will definitely eat there again..
