incredible!!!! lucky mizu and all of level 8 is a must. sit at the bar for the hot pot to avoid sharing a pot if you want your own (2 per table vs 1 per seat at the bar) and to better see the harp! incredible staff, experience and food. 10/10

The staff at Mizu was so awesome to us being first timers with Shabu Shabu…. Particularly Aliyah our waitress, the chef Hisae who walked us thru it, and bartender Harvey who made us some killer lychee martinis. Definitely coming back!

Pretty empty place when we went. Felt very nicely put together. It was fun to walk through several doors to get the restaurant. They acknowledged our reservation and immediately were led to be seated. Also made good on the special request and special occasion for the evening. Food was pretty but pricey. I'd probably do some apps and split a shabu rather than individual portions. Cocktails were awesome. Wine and sake list was huge. Service was super friendly and fun. A very energetic and funny server who was very attentive.

First time there and Harvey/staff were magnificent. Beautiful quaint space. Had a harp performance before us. Definitely a place to check out. The food was great order Kobe sushi rolls, bluefin and other items. All with very nice presentation and better taste. Will for sure head back again.

Terrible service. Had to wait 30 mins before getting seated and we had a reservation. Our server never came to check on us or ask if we wanted more drinks or food. Never even received a dessert menu. Had to ask another server for utensils and bowls.

Sensory overload with the high volume of sound and music. Hardly able to chat with my friends eating there. Two of my friends actually cannot handle the amount of noise and had to leave early due to that. Food was good, expected better for the price range. Interesting experience with the string harp performance. This is the kind of place that I'll only go once for the experience.

Great for sushi, shabu shabu and sashimi. Service was great. The hostesses, the wait staff and the sushi preparers were all very helpful. I really appreciated the bald man with the beard who provided and explained to me the differences between Scotch whiskeys and turned me on to Oban 14. 5 stars for customer service.

Great spot. The sauces were delicious, vegetables and seafood fresh, and great service. Fun atmosphere and loved the bar at check-in. A little tricky to find - very speakeasy - but worth it!

Service was awful and so slow. It took 3 times for our check to be corrected. We were overcharged by about $60. Make sure you check your receipt when you pay!

The flavor of the food was absolutely amazing. However, that is probably where the amazingness ended. The service from the staff was definitely subpar. Sometimes going 20-30+ minutes for the staff to make rounds and refill an empty glass of water. Portions were small. Spent 1 1/2 hours there and still left hungry.

Great ambiance and decor! I wish we would have gotten a tutorial on how to eat our meal so we could enjoy it more. But then again the mystery might have added to our experience. The food, especially the sauces were delicious .

This was my wife and I‘s first time eating at a hot pot location. I think we may have been spoiled by it. We both ordered the meats and chose to cook our own food in the hot pot and what an experience that was for us . I barely eat any vegetables, let alone mushrooms when we were finish there was nothing left in any plate. All food was eaten mushrooms cabbage everything again generally not my cup of tea, but this time it sure was. I actually want to go back and eat there again it was that good . Now the ambience was just as good the floor at the AC hotel. Simply amazing everything there was beautiful. Do you have a chance to check it out? You might want to do so, but make sure you make reservations.

Imagine being Asian and told about how to eat Asian food. In the most condescending manner possible. And then when you ask if a drink can be made with a different liquor (tequila) you’re told that it really doesn’t matter how many liquors you drink, it’s about the volume and number of drinks. Then get yelled at bc you’re done and leave through the same hallway you entered through. Take it with a grain of salt. This place is terrible and just TikTok famous.

Amazing food and amazing service by Harvey. We had the latest reservation time but Harvey still welcomed us with an incredible energy. Very informative of the menu and just an exceptional service. Food was authentic and delicious. Host of the hotel was very accommodating as well. We had a wonderful experience overall. Will be back often!

First of all, a shout out to a a great server - Dillon. His personality alone was the star of the night. However, we came for the food and it was sadly disappointing, although the presentation was beautiful. There are wonderful hot pot options in town for a third of what you would spend here. I really don’t mind an expensive meal, but the taste and quality must be at a high level. I understand we ate here before the first official opening, but this does not excuse the fact that they need to communicate specific information about about the restaurant’s location, parking, etc. Why isn’t anyone answering the phone during service hours?? We arrived about 7:50 for an 8:30 reservation. We then spent 20 minutes looking for the parking for Level 8. Ended up in $20 public parking building. Not a big issue, but this is information that would be helpful for those not familiar with area. So we walk around the parking building to Mizu’s address on Figueroa and the double doors with a Level 8 sign are locked and there are NO instructions on how to get to the restaurant. We took a chance and walked around the corner to the back of building as there was a hotel sign. Surely someone there would know. It was there that an entrance to level 8 was located. It was now 8:35. Now if someone was assigned answer the phone, we would have been able to ask questions. I’ve more to say, but have lost interest in continuing. Bottom line, disappointing.

They either need to change the portions or the prices. Neither were up to par. Beautiful place, but I don’t want to clearly pay for rent when I order food from a restaurant. My wife and I will be looking for other places to enjoy shabu-shabu in Los Angeles. Should’ve known better.

Booked Lucky Mizu without seeing any reviews - just looked cool. Firstly, a hot pot menu is hard to accomplish for this type of restaurant. At $75-100/person, that's a lot to spend for hot pot - expectations are high. For me, the food by itself, wasn't worth the money, but the atmosphere, vibe, service, and decor make-up for some of that. The restaurant is on the 8th floor of the Moxy hotel. It's an interesting setup, and just the experience of going into the restaurant is an experience in itself. Upon getting to the 8th floor, you're greeted by attentive and helpful hostesses, as well as a live person spinning around in mid-air like a circus act. You then need to walk through a bar area to find a hidden door to get into Lucky Mizo. From there, the visuals and decor of the restaurant are impressive - nothing like any other hot pot place. A small, but notable distraction was the staff uniforms. Normally, I wouldn't mention this, but the staff were dressed in T-shirts and jeans, which I thought was too casual for a place like this - maybe I'm just out of touch with what's hip, but it just didn't match the vibe of the restaurant. Service was good. Staff was accommodated an impromptu change and we were seated at a table instead of the individual seating. Service was great throughout the dinner - very attentive, pleasant to deal with, and helpful. Food was good. The beef, pork, vegetables, and noodles were all fresh and of high-quality. The portions were fine. I didn't think I'd be full after the meal, but I think it was enough. We supplemented with a few appetizers. The waygu nigiri topped with uni was good, but not worth the cost - I think it ended up being over $20 per individual piece. Bottom line - you're not coming here for the value of the food - it's more of an experience. Lastly, I don't like restaurants charging a surcharge fee (that doesn't go to staff) and not saying it's optional. Starting to see more of that, and it's a scam IMHO.

Not much flavor, inauthentic menu, gross appetizer (what a ripoff for wagyu), seems like they are still getting their act together. Servers were very nice but drinks were slow, and several mistakes were made. Overpriced but cool decor.

The staff was so warm and friendly- from our server to the team behind the counter. We loved the food from the hamachi and wagyu starters to the hot pot. Presentation and quality were all 10/10. Cocktails were also delish! Can’t wait to come back and bring friends!
