Our second visit was even better than our first! A very interesting mix of Asian styles.
We had a variety of dishes and all of them were outstanding. The wait staff was attentive and the price was right. I would recommend Lucky Goat.
Wonderful to finally have a superior Asian restaurant in Santa Fe?
This was my first experience at the Lucky Goat. The restaurant was recommended by a friend. It was such a treat. The dumplings were ... just wow! I could have requested 3 orders and left SO happy. But instead I got that, Mongolian Beef and some sort of magical flourless chocolate torte and everything tasted just perfect. Really. Perfect.
We’ve heard it’s hit and miss, but we’ve been there twice and had enjoyable experiences both times. Though the Pad Thai was way better the first time (it was only the second week of being open, then). I hope it goes back to the way it was before, because it was my favorite in town. This time it was less dry, and way more spicy... otherwise recommended!
Would have been 5 stars except for the very high noise level. Started with excellent dumplings with many sauces. Goat stew very tasty. Mongolian beef good but a little too sweet. Service very friendly but a little slow.
Some at the table would have given a 5 and others 1. Issue was how much you liked very spicy food.
The apps were great. The Pud Thai was the problem. No help from wait staff on how spicy the food was. In most restaurants you are told honestly how spicy the food is and whether the level of spice can be modulated. Not here. As ingredients were well prepared this might be helpful.
Great new place in Santa Fe!
Appetizers and dessert were quite tasty, but the meat in the Mongolian beef entree was rather tough.
The roasted cauliflower and dumplings were really nice. I’d go back for small plates.

The dumplings were terrific, as well as the Mongolian Beef. The flourless chocolate torte is perfectly dense and delicious. This is my second time there, and I’ll be back!
We had a large party during restaurant week. Food came pretty quickly but some confusion and some missed orders. Food was good with some needed improvements. Maybe reduce offerings during restaurant week to eliminate confusion and assist staff. We will be back to see if kinks get worked out. Fun time.
Mixed rating. The potsticker dough was half bright green and over-cooked. The goat curry stew didn't taste much like curry and had too much fat and gristle. The key lime dessert was delicious.
Mediocre food, unattractive decor, slow food delivery to the table
Cute new restaurant in Santa Fe. Not classic bold pan Asian flavors, it was a little bland. But the menu looks interesting and I loved the red chairs and the lanterns. We showed up at 8 pm and we were the second to last table still seated in the restaurant.
Thank goodness we now have a good Asian/PanAsian restaurant in Santa Fe! I ordered several of the first courses so that I could try several items. As a vegetarian, I particularly liked the Crispy Cauliflower, the Hoi An Pancake, and the Five-Spice Vegetable Dumpling. For desert, um. . . may I have another Thai Creme Caramel soon, please?
Lucky Goat has become one of my favorite restaurants. The calamari is the best!
Food lacked flavor. Needs work. There are other less expensive & more flavorful Asian options In SantaFe
Uninspired. Nothing new. The food is bland. Potstickers dough was very dry with a lackluster soy dipping sauce. Serving presentations too basic. An open space with no sound absorbing features.
We both enjoyed our meals very much. The ambience is attractive, a little on the basic side if anything,i but we were cold. Service could have been better although we were greeted and seated right away and my GF needs addressed. Prices were good overall. We’ll definitely be back
The decor is bright and modern. The food very fresh, well prepared, nice portions. The build your own pho is a great way to go.
It was fantastic! The pho is amazing, you can have whatever you want and it’s fresh, light and delicious. They had lobster crab dumplings the other night and they were amazing. The staff is wonderful. It was packed by 7:00 so book and go!
It wasn’t a full house and we had to wait 10 minutes to get water. We loved the cucumber water, Asian salad, pork dumplings .... food was good
BEST Shrimp Pad Thai I ever had!!!
My friends and I loved the Hoi An pancakes. Two of us loved the Pho and Lemon Chicken stir fry. I didn’t love my Phoof us loved the Pho. While I think the “pick your own ingredients” approach is great, the chicken broth, the foundation of the soup, was not particularly flavorful and the veggies and protein were not tasty enough to carry it.
I will probably go back, though, to try something else.

The pho was amazing! Fresh and delicious. The peanut noodle salad was crisp and refreshing. Excellent!
We were really hoping for a top-quality Asian restaurant to open in Santa Fe, and Lucky Goat didn't disappoint us. The restaurant was nearly empty at 5:30, but quickly filled up after 6. The starter pork egg rolls had an absolutely perfect consistency on the outside and flavor inside. The starter spicy pork dumplings, while stuffed with tender minced pork and beautifully crafted, were sadly not spicy at all. But our friendly server suggested the tray of condiments -- wasabi, pickled ginger and spicy chili sauce -- and that was a perfect compliment. We then had pad Thai with tofu, which was wonderfully spicy and fresh, although my wife would have preferred it pan sauteed instead of lightly grilled. The manager said they are happy to prepare it anyway we like next time. We also had Philippine stir fry with chicken, which with the suggested fresh limes was tangy and flavorful with lots of fresh veggies and tender chicken. We finished up with the Thai creme caramel, which was like a perfect combination of flan and coconut rice pudding (although without the rice). The light dusting of cardamon and a few fresh berries really worked well with it. The iced tea was strong and flavorful and the cucumber water was refreshing. A neighboring table had Thai coconut mussels and curried goat stew that looked fantastic. The only criticism I had was of the young parents who let their child run screaming around the tables, but the manager handled it well and made sure to inquire if we were concerned. The manager was extremely friendly and informative, answering my questions thoughtfully and completely. Our server was bubbly and had good suggestions for our first visit. All said, we were not disappointed at all, and after living among the best Asian restaurants on the West Coast for 10+ years, we honestly arrived skeptical. But we left excited and looking forward to returning to the Goat soon.
Santa Fe deserves strong Asian cuisine, and the community still mourns the loss of Mu Du Noodles after all these years. Unfortunately, Lucky Goat does not even come close to satisfying this need. The menu is scattered and incoherent, the food is flavorless and amateurish (a dash of Fish Sauce to punch up a slice of Sea Bass? Overcooked vegetables?), and the well-intentioned staff seems oblivious to the cooking styles and flavor palate characteristic of Asian food. Unfortunately, this restaurant will not benefit from a tweak here and there. It needs to be shut down and entirely rethought, engaging someone to lead an entirely new concept, front and back. We look forward to that day.
Not very memorable with the exception of a very salty dish due to the overuse of soy sauce.

So here is the reader's digest version: It was an ice-cold evening, outside and unfortunately inside as well. We found the menu to be short, creative and priced right. My wife had the fish: deep-fried red snapper (she is good at post-mortem surgery and thus loved it), I had the Pad Thai and found it delicious but lacking some fire.
We loved the idea of this restaurant but were disappointed. Our Appetizers were OK but our entrees lacked any asian flavor. We will give it another try in a few weeks but based on our first meal we're not excited about returning any time soon
The signature French fried potato dish could be greatly improved by experimenting with different kinds of potatoes. The chosen ones tasted like frozen potatoes and not worthy of the price nor the taste. Dish would have been better if the potatoes had been a great foundation. The chicken Pad Thai and the Scallop dish were both excellent. Service was very attentive and attractive atmosphere. Definitely will go back but order other appetizers.
The Lucky Goat attempts a new take on Asian cuisine but fails to incorporate basic ingredients in their dishes (e.g. pho rice noodles are not ramen noodles, a complex pho broth doesn't taste like it comes from a box). If you want authentic Asian cuisine I suggest going to Pho Kim for less than half the cost.
The pork dumplings were quite good. Everything else needs work. Wine list, five spice ribs and chicken, etc. all have major problems.
Egg rolls so crispy and delicious. The chicken dumplings were also very tasty. Good dipping sauces too. Lemon chicken not at all spicy for those who don't like heat. The Philipine stir fry with shrimp was excellent. I had tried the pad Thai on my previous visit which I loved. Go to this restaurant!
Fish was awesome. Dumplings were mushy. All else was so so.
Food was terrific. The whole fish of the day, Red Snapper, delicious and nicely crispy. The starters are lovely. Fun wine list. An affordable and different restaurant experience in Santa Fe.
