I will not go back for a thanksgiving dinner here again. I had reservations at 6:30pm. When we got there it was a zoo. No parking spots left. Crowds outside. People inside complaining about not being seated for their reservation time. We did not get seated until 7:30pm and not served until 8pm, just sitting and waiting. When we finally got our food it was cold and had to be returned for heating. I don't blame the servers. It's poor management. They had no control of the situation at all. I have eaten at Lucky Dill several times and had no issues. Hopefully they will learn from this.
We come here every year for Thanksgiving. This year it was off. The wait was so long and the food came cold. They were out of pumpkin martini. The people behind us thought they were at a football game.. so terribly loud screaming at the TV, HOWEVER... we were still so grateful to be able to come here again and will comeback again next year. I think dinner was just a reflection of "the world being a bit off"
The Thanksgiving food meals unfortunately was not worth the price point. They pile the turkey over a big ball of stuffing to give you the illusion of great portion size. The stuffing was horrible. The food was not very tasty.
Pretty sure they have been blasted already. Our meal was Thanksgiving
Server was nice enough just not seasoned and we get it . Meal was nothing like the pictured advertisement. Started with a veggie tray that was thrown on a black plastic tray, missing celery, cucumbers, and the cauliflower was like someone ran it thru a chopper no dip. Turkey was plentiful, sweet potatoes from a can. They wanted you out so even though we were late in the day we wanted coffee with the slice of pie you were offered. The pie was on the verge of frozen and my husbands looked they dropped it in pieces. The so called platter that they definitely wanted you to leave with was a bunch of garbage rolling around, pretty sad for a restaurant that used to have the best bakery . Looked store bought not bakery made. I had heard a rumor that the restaurant was sold a while back definitely something has changed and not for the better. I know people equate amount of food with cost as you see that mentioned in many reviews but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good
The food was just delicious and our server was wonderful. It was just very chilly in there!
It’s one of our favorite restaurants, so we will definitely be back. This is the first time we tried your Thanksgiving dinner and we’re glad we did!
Very slow service !
Had a reservation and they were wait an extra hour and a half to be seated
Very understaffed !
I would not recommend
I understand it was busy but the server was was not welcoming when we sat , didn’t return to the table we had to call her over for our drinks which arrived when dinner was done, seemed annoyed when we asked for desert and boxes and she never offered coffee. The food was great but service was lacking
My wife and I went to the Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. Don't know what happened...hopefully it was the augment crew. It was terrible. Although we were seated within 5 minutes of the reservation, we sat at the table for an hour before we were served the main course. And we were starving...server was pompous and arrogant. After all, what were we going to do? Get up and walk out? Several tables around us were served before us even though we were seated 15 minutes before them. When the food arrived we got mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato (I was confused, 2 potatoes.) Two slices of turkey, and stuffing. Turkey and stuffing were cold. Stuffing was from a box, as were the potatoes. Too much bouillon in the stuffing (extremely salty). Anything we needed we had to ask for. Several times. For such a plain dinner why the struggle? For $39.50 per person?? We are not giving up on lucky dill... but we won't make the Thanksgiving mistake again. (PS: we observed the servers at the other tables, and concluded that many of my grievances would not be voiced if they had served us.)
The food was great (awesome portion size) except the stuffing which was kind of dry in parts. Was a bit disappointed with the desert (which was cookies) and some sample size bites of what appeared to be chocolate chip cookies or cake and puffy pastries. Not fun of the delay in getting seated or served (but it was a holiday) so it was fine-at the end it was a nice experience.
Thanksgiving was a disappointment this year, it was our 4th year attending. The waitress we had was either brand new or untrained completely, and had a very poor attitude. Some of the sides were not up to par. We will definitely attend again in future years as it has always been very nice in the past
Thanksgiving dinner at Lucky Dill was very good! The starter tray had cheese, grapes, veggies, olives, etc. all it needed was some dip for the veggies! Dinner was Turkey, dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes & grave and sweet potatoes! Excellent!! Then came the desert tray and pumpkin pie! One couldn’t ask for more! The service was excellent too! The tables were a little crowded but all in all it was a great experience! Thank you Lucky Dill!!
I went with my 12 year old daughter, we were seated in a SMALL table with people going up and down on both sides of us. You stuck these table in the middle of what would normally be a walk way. I would have rather eaten outside, but was not given the option. I did complain to the waiter, but all he said was sorry. I doubt I'll be coming back next Thanksgiving, or any time through out the rest of the year.
The food was delicious. and there was a ton of it. Dahlia was the most amazing server ever.
Good food and great ambience. Love the way the restaurant and bakery is set up. I feel like I'm in NYC again. Delicious food!!!!! I recommend not to eat anything before eating here. You'll have a blast !
It has a nice variety to select from that includes, hot and cold choices.
Had a great time at the Lucky Dill. Food was great especially the bread for the table. This will be a place I will definitely return too.
LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THE LUCKY DILL in palm harbor. The smoke fish was excellent. I can’t wait to try other dishes. Plenty of seating. We walked in at 6pm Saturday, without any problem.
Went for breakfast... the French Toast was amazing and super delightful! My husband had Eggs Benedict and needed a steak knife to cut the English Muffins. Very disappointing with the amount of selections for breakfast. No corned beef hash, very disappointed in that.
Sandwiches and desserts are 5 star. Tried the cheeseburger today which was average for the price paid. That said, will continue going back.
Great sirloin, yummy potatoes. Shrimp and chips was very generous and tasty. Outdoor seating was pleasant, service was good.
Lucky dill never disappoints. Great staff and generous portions.
Had issue with hostess
If you are looking for a great New York deli this is the place to go! The deli sandwiches are delicious and the size is outrageous! You will eat at least 2 meals out of them. The service is always friendly and attentive. The hostess was more then accommodating when we realized we couldn’t get lunch at our reservation time so she was able to switch us to a later time. You don’t want to miss out on their delicious bakery it surpasses anything in the area.
Waitress was extremely arrogant and surly from the moment we were seated. And, she talked down to older, hard-of-hearing person in our group in a most disrespectful way. Even rolled her eyeballs at her. This is FL and seniors need to be handled with respect and understanding, not arrogance. Appetizer plates (all 3 of them) and silverware very dirty, as if they had merely been put through dishwasher with cold water and no soap and not rinsed. Disgusting and should be reported to Board of Health for lack of cleanliness. Cannot blame that on Covid! So extremely disappointed in the experience after having such high expectations.
What a great experience! The service was excellent, Gabby our waitress was friendly and attentive. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. I will definitely say the portions are huge, and we brought home half of our meals. I was so that I was disappointed I couldn’t order dessert , but that didn’t stop me from bringing home several different items. The selection is unbelievable and mouthwatering. Heidi was working the dessert counter and hustling to help everyone wanting some of the goodies plus the to go orders. The atmosphere is fun and definitely a reminder of a New York deli with class. We will definitely become regulars.
This was my first visit to The Lucky Dill Deli. I must say it was quite enjoyable! I will definitely be back!
The food quality was excellent the portions were huge the free dessert is a great feature. Our server was polite and efficient. The place was extremely busy which can be expected on Father’s Day so it took a little longer to get our food otherwise we had a great experience.
Good food, service was okay.
Great to be back at the Luck Dill after quarantine! Excellent as always. I didn't realize how much I missed pastrami. Also got to meet up with a good friend I had not seen in over a year. Really enjoyed it. Hope to be back soon.
It used to be better when the meats were hand sliced.
We love the Lucky Dill and endeavor to visit every time we are in the Tampa St. Pete area. The menu is so large, it’s almost overwhelming. The food is great. We especially like the Grouper Rueben and the steak house sliders. Fries are always good. Service is good but was a little slow the last time we visited as the place was hopping but considering the alternatives, such as limited seating. we all experienced due to COVID, the situation we encountered was far more preferable.
Waitress was terrific. Thanks for corner table away from people. Unfortunately a loud group of six sat down behind us and were quite boisterous.
Food, as usual, was delicious and very large portion.
Ladies restroom could use updating.
Good place and large portions. Burger was a bit bland. Salads are huge and the skyscraper sandwiches are more than a few meals. The free dessert is hit or miss. Service is always great.
I wish the wait staff was more attentive. I asked for water twice, once when first seated & a second time after placing our drink order & never received it.
Food quality has remained excellent (we have eaten at Lucky Dill since they were at the old location). They no longer give free deserts with the meals but other than that everything has been very consistent over the years. Very highly recommended.
Wide variety of food with generous portions. Different food themes and choices make it difficult to narrow selection to one choice. Will definitely return to try other items!
Great food and variety. There's something for everyone.
Our waiter was awful, it was Mother’s Day and I know they were very busy. The restaurant was offering to all the Mom’s a Mimosa with lunch. My husband and I brought our Mothers for late lunch, never did our waiter even offer our Moms a Mimosa! I kept seeing the Mother’s Day drinks being serve all around us, I made reservations for 2pm , we waited and waited for drinks, appetizers, and our order and had to keep asking the waiter where our drinks, appetizers, rolls and food where!!! He kept on ignoring us! We go to the Lucky Dill a lot and I was never so disappointed. My Mother’s Day lunch was awful. Never got out of there till 4:30 pm. We will not be back👎🏻!
