We had a great time! Loved the setting, the drinks and the food. Have definitely spread the word and will be back ourselves soon!
Excellent place for late night food and drinks. Terrific whiskey list and cocktails. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Enjoyed thoroughly. Steak frites and Mac and cheese were terrific.
Having only been to Lucky Day for drinks, I was very curious as to how the food stacked up. Both myself and my special lady friend ordered appetizers, french onion soup for lady and bone marrow for myself. both appetizers came out promptly and cooked to perfection. The presentation of both was exceptional but not overwhelming. For entrees I ordered Duck hash, which was both delightful and filling. The duck was cooked to perfection and complimented the mushrooms and fingerling potatoes it was cooked with. My company ordered a Caesar salad which was very generously portioned with the perfect amount of cheese and anchovies. All in all the ambiance and food were immaculate. The soundtrack was mix from daptone records, a personal favorite of mine and was played at a volume that was audible but not distracting. I will absolutely be back again, and would recommend Lucky day to anybody looking for a quick bite and drink or a full blown dinner.
My new favorite place in Buffalo. I love everything about Luck Day, from the ambiance, to the array of Whiskeys and the delicious food. You feel like you are stepping back in time to a place solely focused on making sure you have an incredible experience.
Great drinks. Fun atmosphere.
Was for a belated birthday dinner.
The bartenders were awesome. Very informative, very friendly to deal with.
Menu was limited, food was mediocre.
Drove from Rochester to Buffalo for a nice date night, service was horrible.
Amazing drink menu. Food was very good. Had the Ribeye and so delish.
It was quiet
Oysters iced, prepared and quality perfect . Fine array of appetizers and wine list with thoughtful
Great! Good food
Great place with a fantastic selection of spirits. Table seating is intimate, and live music is excellent !
Second time dining here this month, and quickly becoming one of our favourites! The whiskey list is impressive! Something for everyone, even the whiskey novice. Many options for the whiskey connoisseur too! There are many choices for dining also, and all food that we ordered was very good. There was live music also, which we really enjoyed! You simply must try this restaurant!
New Years eve
Everything was great! I can’t wait to go back!
Great food. Awesome staff. Great cocktails
It can get a bit noisy, tables are too huge for an intimate night out.We were being put in a 8 man table. Food is amazing and tasty.
Bartender very knowledgeable on the Bourbons and provided great recommendations.....even got to taste Pappy finally .....(they had a flight deal that week) Food was excellent....I had the elk osso buco , it was wonderful, others at the table had the bourbon chicken and throughly enjoyed it as well as mac and cheese. My only minor critique would be our waitress, she forgot to bring items ordered and had to be reminded several times.....but we thought she may have been new to the position and gave some leeway ..... we all have to start sometime...somewhere.... Overall......wonderful......I would go back....... Also, when I made the reservation, I had a question and the management did contact me in a very timely manner! Impressed
Great place!!!! Selection of bourbon was amazing. Awesome ambiance, food was great and the service was outstanding
We loved this restaurant! Awesome selection of whiskey! Service was excellent, and we were warmly welcomed upon arrival. Food was very good. The wall of backlit whiskey makes for a lovely speakeasy vibe.
Last minute 6 top reservation in a Saturday night and not only was it no problem they gave us a great booth location! Cannot wait to return!
Frank, the bartender is the Best! He's very knowledgeable & personable. He makes a great whisky sour!
Dinner was delicious as usual! We started with the shrimp plate, pickled vegetables, & a fresh beet salad. Entrees were Elk Osso Bucco which was very tender & flavorful. Roasted chicken was very good & the Short Rib Hand Pie was tender & delicious as well.
Server needed to be more attentive.
Met out of town friends there for food & bourbons. Awesome night had by all!
Absolutely delicious meal! Efficient great service with out being intrusive. Lovely ambiance, so cozy and classy with out being pretentious. Amazing cocktails as well. One of my new favorites!! Highly recommend!!
Great drinks, beers, and liquors. Excellent food. Very good ambiance.
Loved our first visit to Lucky Day. Enjoyed pours of two favorite bourbons to start. Menu was diverse and I appreciated the Vegan options. Atmosphere is awesome; service was outstanding. Have already made plans to return.
Excellent ambience, wait staff and bar staff. Can’t say enough good things about this place!
Fantastic atmosphere... can't wait to return. Good Blues band.
Love the vibe and look of this restaurant. Perfect for an intimate date night or casual night out with friends or family. The service and food were great! This is the perfect destination for whiskey lovers.
Lucky Day is a great destination to gather with a group of friends. the cocktails are tasty and the food is perfect for sharing.
We Had a great Beef on Wick and Short Rib hand pies local craft beer and two shots. It was good!
It is a great spot, but the only hang up was the weird gnocchi dish we were served. It was basically just vegetables with only 4 little FRIED gnocchi... And it was served with teriyaki sauce. The menu didn't indicate that. It was pretty expensive for mostly veggies.
Other than that, the drinks and service was good as well as the band that played.
We all enjoyed our dinner selections.
Great spot close to Shea’s if you want to grab dinner before a show or just a cool place to check out downtown. Their Whiskey menu is bordering on outrageous and that’s obviously their focus so it’s great if you want to try something different or if you have a favorite that you don’t see stocked everywhere. If you don’t like whiskey they have plenty of other options, and I would go here just for the hand pies which were amazing. Great, fast service even on restaurant week, and a fun place to go with friends. We’ll definitely be going back!
Everything was perfect but $10 Manhattan is high. $5 drink special didn’t apply for some reason.
Food was really good. Service was poor at best. Really Slow for drinks, had to ask for plates, utensils. Apps came out slow, and dinner took forever. Could be a great place if they figure out the basics.......
I am sad that I have to write a less than great review. First the food and drinks were great but the service was not! The orders were messed up, they tried to charge us for more than we ordered and when we were cashing out things did not go well. We had a 318.00 bill, I gave the server 300 dollars and told him to put the rest on the card. He came Back with no cash and a total charge of 318 dollars to my card. I asked what happened and he said he did what I asked and he took the cash as tip. That is not even close to what I asked, So he said he was sorry and would fix it. He came
Back with a credit of 270 (still not 300) and the remaining balance of 48 bucks charged to my card.
Needless to say I feel like he was trying to short change me. After everything that happened no manger came over nothing was done and that was really disappointing.
So if you go pay attention to your bill
Food was great. Will definitely go back for another handpie!
