Great place!!!! Selection of bourbon was amazing. Awesome ambiance, food was great and the service was outstanding
We loved this restaurant! Awesome selection of whiskey! Service was excellent, and we were warmly welcomed upon arrival. Food was very good. The wall of backlit whiskey makes for a lovely speakeasy vibe.
Last minute 6 top reservation in a Saturday night and not only was it no problem they gave us a great booth location! Cannot wait to return!
Frank, the bartender is the Best! He's very knowledgeable & personable. He makes a great whisky sour!
Dinner was delicious as usual! We started with the shrimp plate, pickled vegetables, & a fresh beet salad. Entrees were Elk Osso Bucco which was very tender & flavorful. Roasted chicken was very good & the Short Rib Hand Pie was tender & delicious as well.
Server needed to be more attentive.
Met out of town friends there for food & bourbons. Awesome night had by all!
Absolutely delicious meal! Efficient great service with out being intrusive. Lovely ambiance, so cozy and classy with out being pretentious. Amazing cocktails as well. One of my new favorites!! Highly recommend!!
Great drinks, beers, and liquors. Excellent food. Very good ambiance.
Loved our first visit to Lucky Day. Enjoyed pours of two favorite bourbons to start. Menu was diverse and I appreciated the Vegan options. Atmosphere is awesome; service was outstanding. Have already made plans to return.
Excellent ambience, wait staff and bar staff. Can’t say enough good things about this place!
Fantastic atmosphere... can't wait to return. Good Blues band.
Love the vibe and look of this restaurant. Perfect for an intimate date night or casual night out with friends or family. The service and food were great! This is the perfect destination for whiskey lovers.
Lucky Day is a great destination to gather with a group of friends. the cocktails are tasty and the food is perfect for sharing.
We Had a great Beef on Wick and Short Rib hand pies local craft beer and two shots. It was good!
It is a great spot, but the only hang up was the weird gnocchi dish we were served. It was basically just vegetables with only 4 little FRIED gnocchi... And it was served with teriyaki sauce. The menu didn't indicate that. It was pretty expensive for mostly veggies.
Other than that, the drinks and service was good as well as the band that played.
We all enjoyed our dinner selections.
Great spot close to Shea’s if you want to grab dinner before a show or just a cool place to check out downtown. Their Whiskey menu is bordering on outrageous and that’s obviously their focus so it’s great if you want to try something different or if you have a favorite that you don’t see stocked everywhere. If you don’t like whiskey they have plenty of other options, and I would go here just for the hand pies which were amazing. Great, fast service even on restaurant week, and a fun place to go with friends. We’ll definitely be going back!
Everything was perfect but $10 Manhattan is high. $5 drink special didn’t apply for some reason.
Food was really good. Service was poor at best. Really Slow for drinks, had to ask for plates, utensils. Apps came out slow, and dinner took forever. Could be a great place if they figure out the basics.......
I am sad that I have to write a less than great review. First the food and drinks were great but the service was not! The orders were messed up, they tried to charge us for more than we ordered and when we were cashing out things did not go well. We had a 318.00 bill, I gave the server 300 dollars and told him to put the rest on the card. He came Back with no cash and a total charge of 318 dollars to my card. I asked what happened and he said he did what I asked and he took the cash as tip. That is not even close to what I asked, So he said he was sorry and would fix it. He came
Back with a credit of 270 (still not 300) and the remaining balance of 48 bucks charged to my card.
Needless to say I feel like he was trying to short change me. After everything that happened no manger came over nothing was done and that was really disappointing.
So if you go pay attention to your bill
Food was great. Will definitely go back for another handpie!
The food was excellent and out server was attentive. It was a tad noisy, but hey its Friday night!
Pumpkin gnocchi was trash
It was restaurant week and an event going on plus music...very hard to hear and converse.
The food was ok, drinks were pricey and the service was horrible
Welcome feeling from the moment we entered the building. The décor is exposed beam and brick. Rich deep hues of wood. Ample bar with impressive lines of Whiskey, bourbon, scotch, vodka etc.
We had an early reservation for dinner on a Saturday. We had the full attention of staff who were eager to answer questions on bourbon, oysters (Uncle Bob's large briny ) and pleasant conversation.
The Ribeye my husband had was cooked to his perfection and I got "lucky" with a selection of a fish,(Pompano) , never before had that was mild and combined with perfect accompaniments. So glad I chose something new.
We would happily come back for a small bite or full dinner.
Parking is on a pay for park lot right next to Lucky Day. Win, Win!
Service was ok but it took 1 1/2 for food!
On a good note they have an extensive whiskey, bourbon, scotch and wine list and the bar was busy. From the menu we had a sausage board, a pickle board, roast beef sandwich and what they call a hand sandwich. Nothing was horrible, but nothing I would go back for. The biggest turn off was the service. Our waitress was not friendly, at all. If we ever went back we would just go for drinks at the bar.
Went to dinner at Lucky Day before a concert at Key Bank Center. It is located just over a mile from the center but the center is easily gotten to just by hopping on the free metro rail 1 block over on Main Street. We found the atmosphere to be very cozy. We sat at a table that was very private. There was a curtain on two sides and a wall on the 3rd. There were 6 of us at dinner. The table easily accommodated our appetizers, drinks and meals. Everyone was very happy with their meals and service. My steak was perfectly cooked to order. Another guest had scallops that he was very happy with and looked perfectly cooked. I started with a watermelon salad. Not something found on most menus but very good and perfect for those who want to start with something light and refreshing. They also have a surprising item on the menu. It’s nothing fancy but it’s good and remarkably cheap. There is a hamburger on the menu that is only $5. We ordered it just because we wanted to see what $5 would buy. It was an average sized burger, not a slider. It had lettuce, tomato and onions on it. We cut it up and shared it as we all had meals. I could easily see eating this with a side order of fries and be satisfied. I recommend their other meals, but if your looking for something light and cheap, you can’t beat their burger. Lastly this is a whiskey bar too. I’m not a whiskey drinker but if I was, this would be the place to go. I have no idea of how many different whiskeys they have, but the wall behind the bar was covered with them up to the ceiling. The bartenders use ladders to get them. Not being a whiskey drinker, I found there was plenty for me to choose from. Overall a wonderful dining experience. I will return.
Dark wood, an intimate setting, a wonderful respite from other area bars. They have a selection second to none. Do your homework ahead of time, or you may spend a long time with the menu!
Good food, service. Selection and ambiance
The food was outstanding and unique! The cocktails and the whiskey selection is amazing.
I am originally from Limerick, Ireland so I needed a go-to bar in Buffalo & this is my winner. Excellent ambiance, Phil the Bar man is amazing, great food and a wonderful selection of drinks! I took my sister in law from Texas here and she loved it also. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a unique spot in Buffalo!
We went to Lucky Day for my husband’s birthday, and had a great time! He’s a bourbon drinker, and their selection cannot be beat. The food was great too!
Amazing time, in an amazing establishment! The specials are great, and let’s not forget the HUGE bourbon selection. One of the best cocktails in the city!
TIM STEVENS (OWNER) HAS GOT TO BE ONE OF THE TOP REST OWNERS/BUSINESS MEN IN THE CITY. YOU CAN TELL HE POURS HIS HEART AND SOUL INTO WHAT HE DOES AND SHOWS IN THE MENU, THE REST ITSELF, THE STAFF. ALL THE DETAILS ON ALWAYS ON POINT. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Food and drinks were great! Love the location and the ambiance inside. My only complaint would be the slow service. It was not very busy when we were dining but we were there over 2 hours and it was only four people dining. They brought out dinner for 3 of the 4 of us and the 4th had to wait at least 10 minutes for his food to come out afterwards.
Love it here. Great cocktails, food was cooked to perfection, attentive (but not too attentive) service.
Wonderful selection of whisky. Servers have great knowledge of products on shelf.
Disappointing compared with my previous two visits (which were fantastic!!!). The food was good, but not great. The service while attentive, the food was slow coming from the kitchen. The restaurant was far from capacity, so there was really no excuse for the poor timing between appetizers and entree's.
