We ordered ramen and our waiter Nick brought out the ramen. He had his thumb in the broth. Seriously gross!! Dude, get some food safety training. The ramen broth came out lukewarm. I had the beast bowl, the brisket dumplings were cold inside. Not lukewarm warm, not room temp, cold. Next to us a family with 3 children under 8 left the restaurant. Nick brings out a gigantic dirty mop and starts swinging the mop head. Mop water flying all over, you can smell the old mop water. Dude, it’s just about closing time, hold off on the dirty mop at least until the customers leave. I used to love Lucky Belly. No redemption left, too many dirty habits and no over sight.

We really enjoyed going to the Lucky Belly. The menu was small, but very interesting and we tried several items. Bao buns were the best. Oxtail dumplings were ok and lobster dumplings were unfortunately not good. Mixed with something that tasted fishy. Ramen noodles were excellent, large portion, but dish was too salty. The tables are spaced well, not comfortable seats, noise level was not bad and service was terrific with great servers. The only thing that turned us off were the filthy bathrooms and sticky floors. To me, that is a sign that the kitchen is dirty as well. We will probably not go back due to the relatively high prices and the above concern.

We dined here last year and it was amazing. This experience was much different, almost as though it had changed hands. The special (pork bao, lobster shu mai, and oxtail dumpling) promised to be delicious but in reality tasted previously prepared and warmed (not hot). They were out of several menu items —including peanuts for the Chinese Chicken salad —which seemed odd since there were hardly any diners. Our server was friendly and we wanted to love the place since we drove across town from Waikiki to dine there. Unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Made a reservation a few hours before we dined. Made comments of a special occasion- occasion being newly engaged. Walked in, host greeted us- no mention of congratulations. Very cold, sat under the AC, server asked if we wanted hot water. Server was attentive and knowledgeable. Ordered the special $30, then the bibimbap. Stomach pains (no related to restaurant or food ordered) cut our visit short. No acknowledgment of engagement, do restaurants read notes made on reservations? Smh

One of the best restaurants in Honolulu. Food was fresh and delicious. The best item not on the menu is the staff. They are professional, yet warm and welcoming. We go out for dinner many times a week and this is one of our favorite “go to” places in the city.

We arrived on time and were sat down immediately. The waitress was nice enough and offered her suggestions but when I asked her about if the grilled octopus is tender she told me yes, it was. But when I tried it, it was tough and chewy! I told her about it and she did nothing; hence the low score review! We've eaten here many times before and it's usually much better quality. The pork belly bao were as delicious as always, sake was tasty, and the desert was whimsical. Other than the chewy octopus it was all good!

Second visit and sad to say it has gone downhill. There was little to no ambiance, the staff did not seem to work well together and our server was not very friendly or professional. The food was decent but our overall experience was disappointing.

Our waitress was incredible. One of the waitstaff called in sick, two were covering the entire restaurant. Her recommendations with description were on point. The snapper and brisket bowl were the absolute best. Great selection of sake.

My wife and I in our adventure to try new restaurants found this gem. The ambiance, service, and food were excellent. We very much enjoyed the duck tacos to start the meal. My wife said we are definitely returning to Lucky Belly again. Amazing restaurant.

Very nice for foodies. The fusion menu was excellent. Food and service excellent. Limited selection of wine, not sure why, but that is not the focus. No desserts, again, not sure why, but not the focus. Parking is very difficult and very expensive. Parking is OK and cheap if you can get street parking, which is highly unlikely unless you just stumble into the unicorn of an open space. If not, you have to pay at a lot which is absolutely brutal with no validation. Parking is a huge detractor, but not sure what Lucky Belly can do about it. More of a city problem I suppose. Just need to factor parking in when going to Lucky Belly.

Reserved a table for 2 @ 5:15p. When I arrived, I was told by host that our table was reserved at 6pm so we could “either stay for 45 min or sit at the bar. I recommend you sit at the bar”. So, we sat at the bar because we wanted to stay longer than 45 min, but that wasn’t the experience we wanted. What did I make a reservation for? So that was weird, but food was outstanding as always and the bartender was very nice. We will return, but I will be more specific abt our table expectations when booking next because it affected the experience. The bathroom floors need some love, the rest of the place feels clean and posh. Good vibe.

Very disappointing meal. After getting 5 star ratings does not look like restaurant cares to maintain them. Menu shown of restaurant website des not reflect current prices, everything went up considerably. While it is my first time there i can not imagine coming back. Restaurant was known for it is ramen, what i got i can do lot better in Stix Asia or Hokkaido ramen festival in Waikiki. Both are fast food where ramen is much better and half price of lucky belly. Mine was very salted. Bi Bim Bap is nothing more that bowl of rice for $26 with few tiny pieces of brisket. Scallop cone sushi did not have any bone marrow or truffle flavor. All i found is tiny piece of cut up scallop in tofu skin in so called risotto. Does not look like chef knows how to make risotto. Call ahead and ask what items on menu not available. In my case was 3 and menu is very limited. And ask for table near window as far as possible from toilets. They don't even care to keep doors closed and it smells so badly from there. Total waste of money

Tasty cocktails, quaint ambiance, make a reservation as it’s a smaller spot. We decided to try a bunch of appetizers and everything was delicious!! The lobster dumplings in a beurre blanc sauce were my favorite, pork belly boa buns, duck tacos—amazing. Must come back to try their ramen!

Food has gone downhill. Beets and lettuce in the beet salad were not fresh or tasty. The ramen was good (size has been reduced, but was still ample), but lukewarm. The waiter was surly. Also, we were right under two air conditioning vents and it was uncomfortably cold. This used to be a spot I really liked but we won't be going back.

Three coworkers attending a conference shared a variety of dishes and found each dish to be unique and wonderfully delicious! The waiter was friendly, helpful and thorough, and we enjoyed the area of Honolulu where the restaurant is located; a mix of old and new.
