Lucio's BYOB & Grill Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding restaurant with a limited menu but all good. We used a special Groupon deal and were able to try the deal meal and additional items. The BYOB feature makes this restaurant a great place for we love excellent wine and we take ours with us. They charge a small fee for corkage but it is very, very reasonable. Give Lucio's a try, you should not be sorry.
Melvin was our server and he is a gem! Very hospitable and knowledgeable of the menu. My husband wasn’t sure if he wanted to order his lamb medium or medium well. Melvin gave him the option to order medium and if it was too rare for him, he’d gladly have the chef fire it again. Very nice waiter and the owner is also a nice man! We will be back!
We had a group of 4 to celebrate a birthday. Service was attentive and not intrusive. Food was outstanding with special items featured. We will be back in a few weeks to again celebrate a birthday. They allow BYOB with a corkage fee so bring your favorite wine, etc. They have a reasonable wine and beer menu.
We had the Rack of Lamb and the Duck and it was fabulous! We are big fans of the French bistro-like cusine! It is hard to find a place like this in Houston! The patio is the coolest, we arrived early, but later in the night the turned on the heaters and the romantic vibe made our night very special! Totally recommended!
While we do not live in Houston we visit our children their several times each year. Lucio's is always a restaurant we visit when we are in town. The food is exceptional, we like the byob option and the staff is always professional and friendly. The tuna is the best in town and they do a great job on all their offerings.
This was our first visit to Lucio's - but will certainly not be our last. While the menu is somewhat limited, everything that we ordered was delicious and expertly prepared. The fact that you can bring your own wine is icing on the cake. In addition, Melvin - our waiter - was a big hit. Very attentive without being overbearing. His suggestions were spot on and his friendly demeanor very welcoming.
This is our second visit to this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. You can take your own wine so this is a plus. Corkage fee is a bargain at $8.00. The food was excellent. The appetizer we had was the spinach dip with homemade pita chips which was to die for. Our main entrees were the pork loin & pork belly and my wife had the smoked duck breast plus a side of butternut squash risotto. The entrees were delicious, the duck was perfectly cooked. The dessert was the brioche bread pudding which we shared which was out of this world. Will definitely be back. This is a neighborhood gem.
Outstanding restaurant. Have make reservations to take several friends back so we cane enjoy. Love the food and the service was outstanding. The bread pudding was a great way to finish and end the evening. This was an evening for a birthday and the other couple had a great time and we all will be back.
We can always count on Lucio's for great food and superb service. Inside dining is pleasant enough, but on a nice evening the patio dining is delightful. Lucio's has a small but reasonably priced wine list. However, customers should take advantage of the BYOB provision.
This was our second visit. The service was a little slow and we waited a long time for our meal, but it was great -- never disappoints. There was a little mix-up with the wine menu, as our menus didn't have the correct list, but the waiter quickly got us a current list. We found a good bottle to order as we didn't BYOB.
I found this restaurant through a travel zoo deal. I was trying to plan a special dinner to propose to my girlfriend (she said yes). The staff was extremely helpful and the food was spectacular. The scallops were amazing, and it was the best rack of lamb I’ve had. It was a very special night in a perfect outdoor atmosphere.
Every one of our visits to Lucio's has resulted in an excellent overall experience. We had a party of four and all thoroughly enjoyed their three courses. The tuna was of extraordinary quality and the preparation was a rare sear that highlighted the quality and the flavor of the fish. Service was efficient and well versed in the menu and since this restaurant is a BYOB, he seemed very aware and appreciative of both of the bottles of wine that we had brought with us. All in all an excellent evening such that all of us agreed to return soon.
I ordered the rack of lamb and it was cooked to perfection. The meat had a wonderful flavor, was moist and just the right spices. For an appetizer, I ordered the crab cake which was also very good. It was served with tartar sauce and could have used a little more flavor, but at least it was mostly crabmeat and not breading. My dining partner ordered the hangar steak which he enjoyed just as much. The rack of lamb was a bigger portion of meat though, so I think he was a little envious. After dinner, we ordered the French press coffee which was also very good. I think the only criticism we would have is that for the casual environment and ambiance, the prices were pretty high. Also the cork fee for bringing a bottle of our own wine was pretty steep at $8, which seemed a little unfair - they don’t serve liquor.
Love Lucio's! Last night we dined on appetizers and desserts. We brought our own bottle of wine as their wine list is limited but features some first-class offerings. The crispy calamari was cooked to perfection and served with both pepperoncini butter and remoulade sauce, both delicious. The steamed clams and chorizo were flavorful and succulent. The cheese board featured three delicious cheeses including a sharp cheddar that was divine. And last but not least, we each had our own individual order of paper thin filet mignon carpaccio - too good to share. For dessert we ordered creme brûlée and bread pudding and ate every morsel. Although we dined inside last night, Lucio's offers a lovely outdoor deck perfect for dining in the fall. Our server Steven was delightful and knowledgeable. All in all, a great dining experience.
The staff was very attentive and responsive. Food was great. Great presentation of my hanger steak. It was cooked medium rare and tasted great. The Ahi tuna was well prepared. Pork loin was excellent, too. The brussel sprouts portion needs improvement. Overall, a great experience and able to converse without any interruption.
