Food and service is always great. One of my go to restaurants in Houston.
We had reservations as did most everyone else. The computer was down and the scramble to please and seat everyone had begun. The wonderful wait staff handled it the best they could and worked so hard to seat and satisfy all patrons. Good job, guys.
There was little interruption with ordering and getting the food. Everyone we were seated by in the restaurant seemed to be just happy to be there, as did our party of 4.
As usual, it was all good and thanks to the wait staff who remained calm (with effort) :), we all were happy. Thanks again, y'all, it's always a pleasure to dine at Lucio's.
We had the calamari, goat cheese salad, filet mignon, and sesame tuna. Everything was delicious but the entrees were truly the star of the show. Both meals were cooked perfectly and we ate every bite! One item I can't get over was the wasabi "mashed" potatoes that came with the tuna. I've never had anything like that before and it was the perfect combination.
As always, the food was wonderful and the service exceptional! We have been dining here for several years and have never been disappointed. Lucio’s has become one of our favorite go to restaurants and we love introducing, sharing with friends!
Melvin was an excellent waiter!
Off the charts knowledgeable, helpful and personable.
As always, our experience was great! Great service! Great food and great atmosphere. On top of all of that, you get to bring your own wine!! The best!
I would expect better service from such a small restaurant. The waiter was hard to get a hold of, didn't really check in with us or ask if we needed anything throughout the meal. We ended up flagging down other waiters to order dessert and get more bread. We said yes when the waiter offered to uncork our bottle, not realizing that watching the waiter struggle with our cork for a few minutes would result in an $8 "cork service". In summary, the food was great, the dessert was great, not the best service, but it could have just been an off night for the waiter. This place is nice, but I think there are other great restaurants that offer food of the same caliber at lower prices. Oh and if you do go, remember to BYOCorkscrew too.
We were there for Valentines Dinner at 5:30. Love this place for three major reasons...
1- food is excellent and reasonably priced.
2- Great service (our waiter, Melvin, is always great)!
3- You can bring your own wine!!!
Definitely will be coming back over and over again.
Interesting and delicious food with an intimate ambiance. Can't wait to go back and see the regular menu!
Enjoyed a wonderful date with the love of life on Valentines Day. They had a special menu for Valentines Day which I did not think of but I would definitely return to try their other options.
We really enjoyed our evening at Lucio’s. Very reasonable price in corkage. Will be back.
Wonderful dining experience at Lucio's. We shared the crab cake, kale salad and airline chicken. While the BYOB was tempting, the wine list also had interesting options. So we left the wine at home and enjoyed the Gigondas..a great value. Service was on point. We will add Lucio's to our rotation!
My wife and I go to Lucio's each time we are in Houston which is about 4-6 times per year. The tuna is the best in town and all the food is excellent along with the professional and friendly service. In addition to the great food and service the BYOB is also a draw to Lucio's. We like good wine and would much rather pay a corkage fee than to pay the 2-3 times markup that most restaurants charge for their wine.
Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. I'll definitely be back. Great for special occasions.
Excellent food, good service and being able to take our own wine was a big plus. Too often restaurants mark up the wine by a ridiculous percentage. No such fears at Lucios. We will be back on a regular basis.
Outstanding cottage restaurant experience. Terrific food / menu, terrific service, easy in and out valet service, close to performing arts district, and BYOWine is a bog bonus.
Frequent diners. Love this place
Food was really fabulous and it's a great place to enjoy some of your own wine without having to cook. Will definitely be back soon
This is a cozy, casual BYOB with excellent food! The service was great and everything was delicious. Highly recommend!
Always enjoy the food and service here.
Ya know this place has been my hidden gem for 10 years.... my first discovery moving here and tonight after not having been here in a hot minute, it was all I remembered and more. Melvin will make your night... some how, some way... you will leave with an almost spiritual experience that will supersede words. Anyway, I digress after a lovely evening that no matter the occasion, Lucio’s is IT. 💗
Went to Lucio's for the first Saturday night (four of us). Place was very busy, not to say packed. Noisy, but tables are sufficiently narrow that you don't have to yell to be heard.
Overall, the food is very good, some plates better than others: clams with chorizo are outstanding, so was the steak. Another good point is that wines are reasonably priced (and you can bring your own, which many patrons do).
On the downside, service was very slow.
I was here last weekend with my family to celebrate my father's birthday. We had a last minute addition and needed to add one more person to the party. Lucio's was fully booked, but they were accommodating and made it possible. Our waiter and the staff were lovely, although service was slow at times. Overall, we were satisfied. Food was delicious. Love the BYOB option. They acknowledged my father's birthday with dessert and candle - DELICIOUS bread pudding by the way. I would come back for a date night or another special occasion.
Had a date night dinner here with my wife before catching a play. Attentive, but not too attentive service. It's a fine line, and they played it well. I had some concerns about how to order given some of the reviews about how small their portions are. Let's go ahead and put those concerns to rest. Are they Cracker Barrel plates piled to the sky and sure to leave you weeping you ate less food. No, but who really wants that? Are they ultra fine dining mini-morsels with a side of some flavored foam and you need a 14 course meal to fill you up? Again, no. We each ordered a house salad, and I ordered the hanger steak, while my wife got the short ribs. The combo was more than enough food, and both were delicious. I'll comment on the chimichurri sauce served on the hanger steak - it was non-traditional, but really delicious. The waiter said it had more carrot in substitute for the traditional parsley, and it really worked. Solid meal, and an $8 corckage fee for a special bottle of wine you have can't be beat. We'll definitely be back.
We had a great meal at Lucio’s! The food was great and the service was phenomenal. Already have it booked to go back next month!
Great food, service and ambiance. Perfect for a date night. Would love to go back and sit on the patio when it’s nice outdoors. BYOB is a definite plus!
We returned to Lucia’s for the second time. The service once again was exceptional. We had the giant scallops and the New Zealand lamb chops. Both dishes could not have been better. The desserts were also outstanding. We are participating in “Dry January” so we did not bring a bottle of wine this time but will be sure to do so next time. Lucio’s is a great small, intimate restaurant with a tenured and attentive staff and many repeat clientele.
I have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. I had the airline chicken and as simple as it was, it was probably the best chicken dish I have ever had at a restaurant. I would like to see the menu change a little but I guess you stick with what works. Splitting hairs I guess, because everything here clicks.
Service was gracious, presentation was beautiful and every dish was superb cooked to perfection. It got noisy as the restaurant filled as there are many hard surfaces and an open kitchen. We don’t drink but it is BYOB.
Awesome specials, great service, creative food and a good time!
Family get together. Like BYOB as we are picky on our wine. Great food and low cork fee!
It was great, as always!
This is one of the best restaurants in the city. It is THE very BEST BYOB restaurant in town. Excellent food. I had a fabulous Heirloom tomato salad and the Hanger steak. Other excellent dishes are an incredible rack of lamb and a roast duck. Good cheese course selection as well. One of my favorite restaurants and it never disappoints!
There were five of us. Everyone had a great experience.
Always delicious variety of appetizers and entrees. Corkage only $8 - the wines they sell are a very good deal if you run short. Reasonable variety not marked up much
Excellent carpaccio ,crab cake and salmon appetizers, delicious butternut squash soup special. Fun with a large group to share food and wine
Excellent cooking and presentation of fresh food and great flavors. The fish was unusually good.
Will be going back.
Consistently great pre-show dinner spot! Delicious food, excellent service! We love Lucio’s
Hanger steak all day every day! Love the BYOB feature as well.
Of the entrees, it'll be hard to find something you won't like. The byob is the best part.
Also... Melvin is the most entertaining and enjoyable waiter you'll find. Ask for him if you can. He'll make your meal an experience within seconds.
A very good restaurant, and it’s so nice to be able to take our own wine(s). The duck breast was superb, and the rack of lamb delicious - both were cooked perfectly. Our house salad was outstanding, and Melvin is an excellent server - very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time - only the two of us.
