Awesome place! We love going there for Sunday Brunch. There is always a fantastic live jazz band. Sometimes inside and sometimes outside. Kids are welcome as well.

First time and brunch was delicious. How do you make asparagus taste so good? Everything was prepared very well. Drinks were great too.

So delicious! Cozy, warm, friendly ambiance with a diverse and well-dressed clientele. Enjoyed every bit of our romantic Sunday brunch: spicy/sweet strawberry-and-serrano woke punch, fried green tomatoes, watermelon salad, shrimp and grits, croissant french toast with fried chicken wings...inventive and beautifully presented food that is Instagram-pretty to look at while still keeping all the soul and depth of flavor I would dream of in a neighborhood Southern restaurant. Staff and regular visitors alike were fun to talk to and very sweet. This would be a perfect restaurant to take out-of-town guests to give a feel for true Houston, especially if you're making it an event by visiting any the amazing art, science, or history museums and parks in the area. The location is ideal, and the food is both uniquely Houston and absolutely delicious and sure to please, whether one is impressing a hard-core foodie or one's "I only eat food I recognize" picky aunt. The only thing we don't like about this restaurant is that it's in Houston instead of where we are, three hours' drive away--otherwise we'd be there regularly! Jealous of folks in Houston who can be there all the time.

The restaurant was not busy at all when we arrived (about 6:30) but the bartender took forever to take our order and make our drinks and then when we finally got them - 10-15 minutes later - literally, they were watered down. Then our friends arrived, he didn't even look at them so we went to our table thinking they could get a drink easier from our waitress. She was great actually, the only bright spot in the evening, but the food was nothing special and my husband said his burger was terrible. I've never gone for dinner before, only brunch, but I don't think I'd go back again for dinner at least. I'm not sure what happened - I've never been blown away but it's definitely not what it used to be.

Weekend brunch is really busy, so a reservation is good idea. Even with a reservation, you are seated with a comment about "we're busy, so you have a time limit so we can seat other people, don't feel you can linger". Noise level is 4 on a 5 scale, nightclub dance type music playing over the speakers doesn't help. The food has been ok, nothing special. We really want to like this place, so we want to try a regular dinner during a weeknight, a try some nonbrunch entrees.

The service was really good. We had a really good server and our drinks were good too. However, the food was okay. My friend got the fish fry. It was fried well but not seasoned. It was bland. I ordered the chicken and the sauce for the fried chicken was too sweet and pieces of chicken were really small. I don’t eat dark meat and two of the three pieces were dark. The chicken was fried well but the portion was skimpy. I would not expect the cheapest cuts of chicken to be that costly.

I will go again but I will order something different.

We had a terrific brunch at Lucille’s on Sunday - it had live music, lively crowd, excellent service and very good food. The menu was varied and reflected the Southern cuisine it specializes in - grits, fried green tomatoes etc.

We would definitely recommend, reservations are necessary.

It came as a recommendation from another 'self-proclaimed' foodie. The options were intriguing. We shared the chili biscuits which were delicious and it was on the happy hour menu. I had oxtails and cheesy grits and my daughter had fried chicken, potatoes, and greens. I love grits so if it's an option for dinner that will usually be my choice with the typical shrimp and I have also had them with catfish. This is the first time I've had oxtails as an option and I love oxtails. I love the homely feel. Our server was very sweet and attentive. The only thing that would change is the back area where were sitting. The space is so small I would put to tables side by side. It was my daughter and I and I felt like the couple next to us were on a date. I felt like we couldn't really have dinner talk until they left and tried hard to avoid looking at their table. But Overall we our taste buds were completely satisfied and I thought it was worth every every penny.

Fantastic brunch with live music on Sunday. The food is fantastic, bring a group so you can try a little of everything. The watermelon salad is the perfect mix of spicy crispy arugula and sweet watermelon. The chili biscuits are perfect small bites and can't pass up the Country Benedict. What are you waiting for go now!

I came in from Dallas to the Houston area and was looking for a great place to have brunch. I was very pleased with the whole ambiance of Lucille's. The whole staff was very nice and it was a cozy feel to the whole environment. All of the patrons looked happy to be there and we met some nice people as we were waited to be served. The band was very good are are an important part to the appeal of the what the restaurant seems to try to promote. They even walked among the customers and made us feel at home. It was southern hospitality at it's finest.
The food and the signature drinks were exceptional. I can't wait to go back to Houston. I will make this my go to place each time I go to visit.

Our biggest issue was that the service was rushed. In fact, when we were seated, the hostess told us we had the table for an hour and a half. The server was trying to clear plates we hadn’t finished. As we sat for a bit after we finished eating, several people kept coming by asking if everything was all right...clearly wanting us to clear out. The place was crowded with people waiting. I get that they wanted the table. We had made a reservation and had hoped to enjoy brunch and conversation with out of town friends we hadn’t seen in a while. Add live music in a small space crowded with people, this was not a good choice for us.

As always, Lucille's goes above and beyond your expectations. We often travel to Houston for pleasure, and make it a point to ALWAYS eat there! The cocktails are delicious and the food is some of the best we have ever had, and this is from two huge foodies. Don't let anything from keeping you....go to Lucille's and see what all the talk is about....your palate and tummy will thank you.

The food was great. The fried green tomatoes was great, spicy and creamy with goat cheese. Such a great pairing. I also had as an entree the Country Benedict. Amazing amazing amazing. I love eggs Benedict and this was something special. English muffin, collard greens, fried over easy egg with creamy hollandaise sauce. Yummy.

I really enjoyed the food and ambiance. I tried several small dish appetizers, large dish entree, and desert- which were all great. One can tell that such great care and detail went into the meal prep and display. Very impressed. The waitress did a great job with selling the dishes. I love it when a waiter / waitress is able to make recommendations. My friends and I will definitely return to try out the brunch menu

I enjoyed the crossing French toast. It should come with 5 wings instead of 3. However, my uncle didn't like the potatoes and sausage that came with the standard breakfast. We paid for parking. $3. The bathroom floor was sticky. Will go again.

Our Sunday brunch at Lucille's was excellent. We arrived on time for our reservation and waited about 15 minutes to be seated. We were more than entertained by the jazz band as we waited. Once seated we ordered our drinks and the fried green tomatoes for the table. Served with a little goat cheese garnish and an aioli, they were perfect. I ordered Crab Cake Benedict and was told they were out, so Shrimp and Grits it was. The dish came and while pretty to look at, only 4 small shrimp were on the plate, 2 of which had that fishy, iodine smell. The grits were excellent. My friends order fried fish and chicken fried steak, both of which were reported as delicious. We shared a red velvet cake, which was disappointingly dry. Service was very good and the music made the afternoon. I'll definitely go again.

My wife and I were in Houston from out of town and we love finding nice brunch venues...after Googling "best brunch in Houston" Lucille's was at the top, so we decided to try it out - and we were not disappointed. As soon as we walked in, we noticed the nice decor which was very appealing to the eye. The service was exceptional and the food was incredible - a bit pricy, but that's okay. I look forward to coming next time to try their dinner menu

This was my first time to Lucille's. It's in a cozy old house and that's the vibe you get - home-cooked southern food - just like mom's (actually better). the food was delicious! We tried the yardbird & shrimp and grits. everything was top notch. oh, Mr Campbell's jazz group was a real treat. we've known him since grade school. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
