As culinary art curators of a cozy, welcoming environment paired with progressive, unpretentious food the Williams brothers offer Lucille's to the Museum District. They deliver the culinary art history of Southern cooking, and progress our palettes with infusions of European gourmet techniques.
Took my mother for Easter Brunch. No wait and seated on the patio. Picnic tables are a little hard for older customers, but we were able to fit. Friendly service and great band! My mother got the catfish & grits, which was fantastic! I got the shrimp & grits, but the oxtail jus made it a little too runny. It still tasted great and I ate it all! Need to go back and try some other things!
My appetizers were cold and did not have any flavor.
My bacon was cold, biscuits were rush cooked and then served to me cold with no jelly.
For the price paid I would’ve expected a much better delivery of food
What a find! Amazing food, amazing service and amazing surroundings.
We will be coming back again and again. Love this place!
Food was great. Service was not good at all, but will definitely go back.
No complaints with the food. If service and noise is important to you, be forewarned. This visit was our 3rd or 4th in the past 18 months and the initial service has always been slow (for drinks and ordering the meal). From that point on, the service is fine. The noise factor makes it hard to carry on a conversation with 4 people.
Lucille's offers a variety of gourmet options...the sweet potato waffle is to die for but nothing beats out the oxtail omelette. Simply delicious food.
Food was great, will be back!!!
Service was outstanding!!
The food was delicious, but the band was too much in such a small space. Also, my glass was never refilled!
Everything was amazing. I’ve been for dinner but this was the first time for brunch and I’m definitely going back!!
Celebrating my 39th birthday with friends
Service was perfect! Food was phenomenal! Everyone should eat here! Get cornbread!
Food is awesome, the band is awesome! The waiters/waitress is awesome! The only thing I wasn’t enthused about was the alcohol beverages. Not too many sweet choices. But I love the fact that my reservation went well, we walked in the building and straight to our seats!!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!! And kuddos to the chef!!!!!
It was a brunch for my daughter in laws birthday. The band was very loud. Food was great, but maybe a piano playing would have been a better choice for the small area everyone was in. I would recommend the restaurant.
Chicken and waffles were amazing. Please get them per Chef's choice.
It was my first time there and I believe in giving things another try. My server was very good as was the manager. Food could have been better.
Absolutely awesome place! Especially for Sunday brunch. I had outstanding shrimp and grits and my husband had the oxtail omelette, which tasted like the most comforting home cooked delicious that I've had in a restaurant. We will be back and bringing friends!
This was our first time. Read the previous reviews and thought why not give it a shot since we typically do brunch every weekend. The server was great. Our Bellini drink was tasty. I took the server’s recommendation for the shrimp and grits. It looked decent but the shrimp was bland. It looked like it was boiled not grilled or broiled. The grits were extremely bland like oatmeal. The andouille sausage was lackluster. I was not even able to have more than a few bites even after adding my own salt and pepper.
My guest’s dish was the croissant and Wings. The croissant was drenched in butter and tasted heavy in butter. The wings were dripping in oil when you bite into it.
Overall, not what we had expected considering the reviews and tradition.
Outstanding restaurant find in Houston for delicious southern comfort food cooking. Fried chicken and greens were great and the shrimp and grits was delicious. Had them for entrees along with Lucille’s famous chili biscuits. The service was top notch, ample portions and reasonable prices too.
Don’t forget to have the Lemon Pie as a finish to the great dining experience.
Food was fantastic! It was difficult to have a conversation because the love music was so loud. Also, when we arrived for the reservation we had to wait because all the outdoors parties had to come in due to the rain. My only suggestion to the hostess was it would have been appreciated if they would have called and given us a heads yo prior to our arrival. They accommodated us as quickly as the could.
Amazing ambiance! The service was great and the food was even better. There was a live band and the drinks were strong!
Excellent food and impeccable service. The new menu adds great options to choose from and the cocktails are creative and tasty!
Visiting Houston for the whiskey social. Checked online for recommendations, and Lucille's came highly recommended.
It was near closing, but they were very accommodating. The table was exactly as I'd asked. The chicken-fried oysters were lightly seasoned and corn meal breaded; green tomatoes were the same. Very nice.
The pork shank and beans were perfectly cooked and delicious. The smothered duck with pureed parsnips were unbelievable! And the Brussels, oh, the Brussels...this was a hit! Make Lucille's a stop.
Lunch with dear friend.
Yes, but... I think if your parking lot has changed its ownership or just became paid recently, you need to have a better communication about it: proper signage, warning at the restaurant by hostess and waiters. It is no fun to have a business lunch for an hour parked at your usual spot and to have all your cars booted with $113 added to your restaurant bill. Unless it's their additional revenue, it makes no sense. Lol. I will think twice to come back.
I like the food and the non traditional take on soul food, would like to see a wider variety of dishes.
Love everything about. Great for business meeting and happy hour.
We had a pleasant evening and the waiter was very helpful on getting us to order the right amount of food.
Not a big fan of even if you have a reservation they won’t seat you until all members of the party are there.
Other than that and the noise level... it was perfect!
The atmosphere was nice. I had the catfish and grits. My food was Luke warm. Taste was good.
Being raised in the south I have a very good understanding of the cuisine right down to the iced tea. My wife and I were visiting Houston recently and were looking for a brunch spot. We came across this and are really glad we did. Chili biscuits, fried chicken and croissant French toast and the absolute best grits around (even better than mine)
My wife and I will return again maybe next time we will hang out and listen to the blues music out back.....
Enjoying friends and life
Outstanding food, outstanding customer service! We were seating immediately and the waiter came shortly after. The waiter was well versed on menu, specials and ingredients. We had the opportunity to meet the chef and general manager. We will be back for sure!
I always have fun at Lucille’s. Warm and cozy environment and great drinks. Well my wife and I were hosting a couple that came in town. They thoroughly enjoyed the place as well.
My friend's fried chicken was served cold. The manager was kind enough to comp her drinks.
Highly recommend at any time of day! We just had lunch, and we ordered the scallops as an appetizer. I don't usually like scallops, but the brown sugar seasoning on these makes them impossible to dislike. We had the yardbird and the roasted gulf fish as entrees, and both were great. The mahi-mahi was very spicy, as were the catfish nuggets (they had an unusual twist with the seasoning). Cornbread was also good, AND spicy with peppers inside.
Nice quaint place with good options.
Lucille's offers a contemporary take on traditional southern cooking. We continue to enjoy its specialties in a cozy neighborhood setting convenient to museums and Medical Center. Service was great, and the fare up to their high standards. We came back, and we will be back!
Love this place. Great food, perfect service. Quiet enough to carry on a conversation.
Never disappointed , food is amazing and service is outstanding.. servers and hostess are friendly and very attentive ..
