Lucienne - Hotel Alessandra
Will be back! Lovely restaurant in a charming hotel.
4th sampler course was a joke. I’ve never seen a main course portion so small.
Celebrated anniversary here. Service was outstanding. Had the 5-course tasting menu and everything was delicious! Nice gem of a restaurant.
Food and service were excellent. The scallops, steak, and short ribs were all well-prepared, well-presented and delicious.
The ambiance was also great. Will come back.
We were very pleased with the food. All courses were delicious! The drinks were also just right. This was our first time here. Will definitely return!
The ambience could be a bit better, perhaps some light music in background to minimize speaking noises? From tables adjacent.
Excellent food and amazing hotel! Ambiance of Lucienne is very nice! Service was first class!
Love the space, quaint and elegant. Amazing service and great food pairings.
Wonderful restaurant, fabulous food and service. We did the six course wine pairing. Had to take some food home because it was too much! But really wonderful. Quiet atmosphere, perfect for conversation.
Really good food, presentation, flavor, great service and atmosphere
We were celebrating our 23rd Anniversary and we had the whole dining area to ourselves! It was nice and calm and quiet where we can talk and have to yell at each other to hear. The service was great, the 6 course meal was fantastic!
Exceeded expectations. The 4 course meal is ample and terrific value.
An amazing culinary experience backed by superb service. This restaurant and the hotel attached to it are a no-miss if you are ever in Downtown Houston. Best place close to the Toyota Center. Enjoy!!
Great food, service and atmosphere. I was really surprised that it was not busy. We had a lovely time talking and enjoying each other’s company while the different courses were prepared and brought to our table. We will definitely be back.
It’s a great business lunch location. The food is fabulous. I just wish the service was as good as everything else. When they aren’t even crowded you can’t find your waiter.
Amazingly delicious food. We did the 4 course tasting menu and every course was superb. Service was attentive without being intrusive.
Foood is ok. It is pricey
Service was not adequate for price of food/quality of food. Wine was never refilled, table never cleaned between courses. At one point my date asked for his plate to be taken away and waiter, with empty hands, replied “I’ll get it in a bit.” Service was severely lacking in attention. As well courses were never explained when served. We were not provided a tasting of the bottle we bought; glasses were served full pour. When asking about individual course sizes, all that was said “it’s a usual 4th course size,” which is not at all helpful. There was a major lack of knowledge of menu. Usually not something I pay attention to, but when you’re paying $300 for two people, then the expectations of quality service are high. Sadly we will not be going back.
There are lots of nice looking restaurants in Houston but the food is not always up to par. Ambiance & the food at Lucienne are exceptional! Loved that the service was friendly so even though you are in an upscale restaurant it doesn't feel stuffy. I am vegetarian but everything I ate here was simply delicious. This is one talented chef! Looking forward to going back there again.
May need to put more staff especially on special occasions
Highly recommend the chef's food and wine pairing!!!
This place aims high but falls short of its aim. I ordered duck - staple of french cuisine, and it was under-cooked and just awful. I would not recommend it
It's such a beautiful place. I just never understand why when you are the only table in the restaurant at 12:30pm that you can't get great service. Noone else but our 3 person table and we still had to signal to the waiter to get anything. I will certainly go back because I love the food but don't expect great service. Maybe they needed to be busier.
Great venue—- excellent food choices
My food was delicious! I had the mushroom soup, pasta and apple tart, it was fabulous.
Outstanding dinner. Service was fantastic. Can not say enough about how good the food was.
Could not have been better!!! The food and service were top notch. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and timely. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!!!
Beautiful location, attentive staff, amazing food. All around perfect experience.
Good food and excellent service! Lovely, serene decor. Will definitely return!
The food wasn't good at all. I had the Waffle & fried chicken sandwich. My fries were lukewarm and I wasn't particularly crazy about the fact the chicken were chicken tenders rather than just a boneless chicken breast. My girlfriend had a hamburger and I could tell by the look on her face she wasn't impressed. Her fries were lukewarm as well. And when we ordered we were the only ones in the restaurant. I wouldn't return to eat here again.
The restaurant is a bit eclectic. The menu is interesting and some creative combinations of foods and flavors.
The service was very good
We had New Years Day brunch.
The new year menu was nothing compared to the pre-fix menu that they had . We went with loads of hopes because we had loved their pre fix menu before, only to be disappointed..
This was about the 4th time we ate at Lucianne. It was delicious as before. They were very sensitive to my gluten free requirement.
My mother and I attended the Christmas brunch at Lucienne, hoping to have a nice holiday experience. This could have been the Houston article's fault, but we were wrong to believe that there would be entertainment. There was no music playing or festive decorations in the restaurant area.
The food was pretty good. I expected more from the king crab benedict. What really suffered was the service - we asked for a drink menu, the server awkwardly replied, "We have bloody marys, mimosas..." so we decided on mimosas. They were warm, almost 100% orange juice, and FOURTEEN dollars each. We asked another server (not ours) if we could have a drink menu, and she brought us one and asked if we wanted bread for the table. Our previous server didn't tell us that was an option. We ended up getting a half-bottle of rose for $40, and when I said "Oh it's a half bottle" our server said "It's a medium bottle, actually." (It was 375mL.) It was just not the kind of Christmas brunch experience I was expecting.
Gorgeous, uncomplicated, dining room; prompt, attentive, unobtrusive service; exquisite cuisine. Very reasonable prices for such a sumptuous experience.
Celebrated our anniversary here. Had the 6-course tasting menu, and everything was terrific (standouts were the rack of lamb, the scallops, the octopus, and the apple tart).
Francisco, our server, took care of our every need and paid close attention to what we wanted. The staff was very courteous and we loved the quiet and intimate ambiance.
The tasting course dishes are a little bit on the wee side, but they got the job done. Don’t go too hungry hehe
Nice quiet bright space. Great server
Top quality food, service and ambience.
The service at Lucienne was top-notch, very attentive but not intrusive. And the food was simply extraordinary. I would recommend to anyone looking for a fine (but not stuffy) dining experience in Houston.
Nice atmosphere and great food. Good wine pairings.
