Lucienne - Hotel Alessandra
Hosted small birthday dinner party for my wife there. Just girlfriends. Prominent lawyers and physicians. I live in Houston. Houston is a food town. The food served was the best hotel kitchen food we've ever eaten. As good as any high-end dining venue in Houston, Texas.
I am not sure if there is new management, but the food has changed. The lobster roll was heavy on the mayo and light on the lobster. The risotto was okay. Overall, it was an okay meal. I have been going to this restaurant for downtown business lunches.
Amazing Staff And Food! Pulpo, Crudo and Wine prices are the standouts!
We dined here on a quiet evening, just before a national holiday. We got outstanding service and the food was excellent. The dining area is elegant, relatively quiet, which leads to easy conversation with your dining companions. Thankfully, there are restaurants like Lucienne, to allow a civilized dining experience.
It was excellent service, we all had the tasting menu. It was do good, tasting menu serving size was plenty. We enjoyed all the dishes. The service was excellent, Alvaro was knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. It was a nice surprise to us, they gave us champagne to toast our friends wedding anniversary. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend this restaurant.
That staff is very accommodating and the food is excellent. Not too pricey for the area. Everything is exactly what you’d expect from a high end, high class restaurant.
The 5 course menu is absolutely fantastic. Expect smaller portions than your normal restaurant (this is all about the experience - if you favor quantiy over quality this may not be a good fit). Had the frogs legs, foie gras, octopus, pheasant and chocolate moelleux. Service was impeccable. Presentation of each plate was attentive. My server went out of his way to get me the wines I preferred for pairing. While the restaurant is located on second floor of hotel Alessandra., this not your typical hotel restaurant. Ambiance was very quiet with only a few tables with other business travelers ( I was here on a Wednesday). The seating is comfortable and has a formal area (modern setting) as well as a more casual area including high chairs and bar stools, with full view to the kitchen through the glass panes. Price range is on the higher end ($75 for menu, $120 for menu and wine pairings). Expect to pay $100 a person.
As always, excellent service and food. The decor is stunning
Will be back! Lovely restaurant in a charming hotel.
4th sampler course was a joke. I’ve never seen a main course portion so small.
Celebrated anniversary here. Service was outstanding. Had the 5-course tasting menu and everything was delicious! Nice gem of a restaurant.
Food and service were excellent. The scallops, steak, and short ribs were all well-prepared, well-presented and delicious.
The ambiance was also great. Will come back.
We were very pleased with the food. All courses were delicious! The drinks were also just right. This was our first time here. Will definitely return!
The ambience could be a bit better, perhaps some light music in background to minimize speaking noises? From tables adjacent.
Excellent food and amazing hotel! Ambiance of Lucienne is very nice! Service was first class!
Love the space, quaint and elegant. Amazing service and great food pairings.
Wonderful restaurant, fabulous food and service. We did the six course wine pairing. Had to take some food home because it was too much! But really wonderful. Quiet atmosphere, perfect for conversation.
Really good food, presentation, flavor, great service and atmosphere
We were celebrating our 23rd Anniversary and we had the whole dining area to ourselves! It was nice and calm and quiet where we can talk and have to yell at each other to hear. The service was great, the 6 course meal was fantastic!
Exceeded expectations. The 4 course meal is ample and terrific value.
An amazing culinary experience backed by superb service. This restaurant and the hotel attached to it are a no-miss if you are ever in Downtown Houston. Best place close to the Toyota Center. Enjoy!!
Great food, service and atmosphere. I was really surprised that it was not busy. We had a lovely time talking and enjoying each other’s company while the different courses were prepared and brought to our table. We will definitely be back.
It’s a great business lunch location. The food is fabulous. I just wish the service was as good as everything else. When they aren’t even crowded you can’t find your waiter.
Amazingly delicious food. We did the 4 course tasting menu and every course was superb. Service was attentive without being intrusive.
Foood is ok. It is pricey
Service was not adequate for price of food/quality of food. Wine was never refilled, table never cleaned between courses. At one point my date asked for his plate to be taken away and waiter, with empty hands, replied “I’ll get it in a bit.” Service was severely lacking in attention. As well courses were never explained when served. We were not provided a tasting of the bottle we bought; glasses were served full pour. When asking about individual course sizes, all that was said “it’s a usual 4th course size,” which is not at all helpful. There was a major lack of knowledge of menu. Usually not something I pay attention to, but when you’re paying $300 for two people, then the expectations of quality service are high. Sadly we will not be going back.
There are lots of nice looking restaurants in Houston but the food is not always up to par. Ambiance & the food at Lucienne are exceptional! Loved that the service was friendly so even though you are in an upscale restaurant it doesn't feel stuffy. I am vegetarian but everything I ate here was simply delicious. This is one talented chef! Looking forward to going back there again.
May need to put more staff especially on special occasions
Highly recommend the chef's food and wine pairing!!!
This place aims high but falls short of its aim. I ordered duck - staple of french cuisine, and it was under-cooked and just awful. I would not recommend it
It's such a beautiful place. I just never understand why when you are the only table in the restaurant at 12:30pm that you can't get great service. Noone else but our 3 person table and we still had to signal to the waiter to get anything. I will certainly go back because I love the food but don't expect great service. Maybe they needed to be busier.
Great venue—- excellent food choices
My food was delicious! I had the mushroom soup, pasta and apple tart, it was fabulous.
Outstanding dinner. Service was fantastic. Can not say enough about how good the food was.
Could not have been better!!! The food and service were top notch. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and timely. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!!!
Beautiful location, attentive staff, amazing food. All around perfect experience.
Good food and excellent service! Lovely, serene decor. Will definitely return!
The food wasn't good at all. I had the Waffle & fried chicken sandwich. My fries were lukewarm and I wasn't particularly crazy about the fact the chicken were chicken tenders rather than just a boneless chicken breast. My girlfriend had a hamburger and I could tell by the look on her face she wasn't impressed. Her fries were lukewarm as well. And when we ordered we were the only ones in the restaurant. I wouldn't return to eat here again.
The restaurant is a bit eclectic. The menu is interesting and some creative combinations of foods and flavors.
The service was very good
We had New Years Day brunch.
The new year menu was nothing compared to the pre-fix menu that they had . We went with loads of hopes because we had loved their pre fix menu before, only to be disappointed..
