Come see our special wood fired oven imported from Naples Italy!
Great pizza. Desserts very good as well.
The food and service are excellent here. Despite having several gluten free options, several items were cooked in the same places as glutinous ones, so our options were limited. (We were really hoping for a GF pizza.) Regardless, our server, whose name we cannot recall but believe was the co-owner, steered us to several beautiful plates of delicious food. We left very happy. The only other drawback was the tall chairs at the bar. If you are under 5'4", they are very high. We will definitely return, but will get a regular table.
Loved the food. Service a bit spotty and seemed chaotic but it was fun and wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.
Great spot! Loved the pizza; the cocktails were also fantastic, as were the appetizers and chocolate mousse dessert. We'll be back.
Wonderfully fast service, terrific burrata and some of the most Italy-like pizza (esp. dough-wise) we've had in the US!
This is a great little restaurant. Wonderful owners who are very welcoming. We eat there before Berkeley Rep all the time. Last time we had the special pizza..squash, potato chips, pepperoni...sounds strange but was delicious! Their arugla salad with taro chips ..eggplant ...canoli...GREAT>n
Mushroom pizza was overwhelmed by Gorgonzola cheese and burnt crust. Did not have much of a mushroom flavor. Carbonara pizza had old tasting prosciutto. Only pizza that was good was the spicy one. Not much to choose from on Sat other than pizza. Overall ok but not something I’d go back for.
The gluten free pizza was the best we’ve had in the Bay Area!
Such a lovely little restaurant with yummy food and delightful servers. Second time here and I will be back. Had a mushroom pizza with vegan cheese that was delicious.
Creative and delicious brunch, and yummy cocktails.
Fantastic pizza and atmosphere. We had a gluten free margarita and shroom pizza and both were some of the beat we’ve ever had. Highly recommended!
Small appetizer portions.... very tasty though.... pizza was fabulous! & cooked in mere minutes in the gorgeous pizza oven
We love Lucia's. Everything is delicious and the service is wonderful.
The Eggplant parmesan was delicious; the kale salad a little heavy, the small platter pizzas OK. I didn't much care for the veal one which was the special, a little sweet.
Lucia's pizza is some of the best we've had since Napoli. The restaurant was just the kind of place we were looking for to get a bite before the concert. Friendly, efficient service and good atmosphere. Enjoyed the historic Berkeley pictures on the wall.
Probably the best gluten free pizza we've had anywhere in the world!
Went here with a large group from work, everyone’s first visit. We all really enjoyed ourselves. The appetizers and pizzas were all great, the particular pizza favorite was the Shroomy. The wine selection was also all mostly Italian and all the options we were considering were carefully explained by the wait staff. Service was attentive and prompt. We had a great meal here, hope to be back.
The full moon played a trick on me tonight. Me and my friend entered into Lucia's for a chill night but we both were burdened with $30 charged for a personal pizza! Ok now that isn't too bad if it is the most amazing pizza I've ever had but there were no gold flakes on that pizza, it wasn't a rainbow in my mouth. No it was fairly mediocre pizza with a less than average crust (soggy crust no thank you). But I do appreciate the gf and vegan options and the service was above average. Just BEWARE that little things add up on the pizzas! BEWARE
Cute chairs though
Our table ordered both regular and gluten-free pizza, and everyone was very happy!
Waited an hour for our entree. Was assured twice. Then told it had gone to another table. No consideration offered.
Everything was excellent from beginning to end.
One of the best Neapolitan pizzas we have had since we left Italy
Love this place. Pizza is excellent. Salads are great. The Gelato is not to be missed. The owners and staff are lovely. Great place to practice your Italian!
Great pizza but hit and miss service. We were served by a tall African American guy with long hair worn up that was barely putting up with having to do his job. It felt like going to someone's house and feeling not welcome. We had a better service experience last time. Both times the food was delicious, including the gluten free pizza. Best I've had.
Best gluten free pizza ever. Top it with buffalo mozzarella form Italy, eggplant and sausage and life is good.
Delicious food, excellent service, right around the corner from Berkeley Rep, and reasonably priced. What's not to love?
Lovely wait person. delicious gluten free pizza. quick service and wonderful atmosphere! We'll be back!
We were placed at a small table right near the reception desk affording us a view of the hostesses back side. We ask for a more appealing table and were then seated at the bar on bar stools. We decided to leave at that point as the hostess would not seat us at another table in the restaurant even though it was only 25% full. Very unwelcoming place. We went to Zino and had a lovely meal with very pleasant service and ambiance.
Unfortunately, our party of 4 all agreed that we would be unlikely to return to Lucia's for pizza. We had 2 types of pizza -- Margherita and the nightly special, which was a white pizza. The Margherita was wet and soupy and the crust was undercooked underneath. Pieces had to be rolled or folded over to manage it and still not very flavorful. The special had little taste. We didn't even think the dough had much interest either. The roasted veggies and salad were both very good. The restaurant was noisy and the wait staff seemed somewhat inexperienced. I was hoping for better given that Lucia's is the latest addition to downtown Berkeley.
We loved the brussel sprouts dish and napolitana pizza.
Excellent service, really good pasta and pizza, fun people watching.
We went to Lucia's before attending the Berkeley Rep. The meals were genuine as we might have been in a restaurant in Italy. Ambience was friendly and vibrant. The menu offers a nice variety including attractive non-alcohol beverages. The owner is from Northern Italy and her passion for good food and attentive service is obvious.
I have already recommended Lucia's to 3 friends. It feels just right for a casual, tasty meal alone or with frineds
Cozy, light, casual, hip. Fabuloso server, Elizabetta (sp?). Veg Fritti delicious with lightly minted aoli. Spaghetti a la vongole, delicate flavorful clams... spaghetti a tad too al dente for my taste but good, sauce could use a little clam broth reduced in with the the olive oil and a tiny bit more parsley, but still thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be back.
We came here regularly right after the restaurant opened, and enjoyed ourselves. We hadn't been for a while and were quite disappointed. Our appetizers were good, but our pizza was cold and tasteless - the cheese was an unmelted lump, the sausage were in chunks, and there was very little broccoli rabe. One person at our table ordered something else, and her dish was not delivered until we had eaten our appetizers and almost finished the pizza.
I really liked this restaurant and am looking forward to going back. The restaurant is family owned and run and the family is lovely. We shared a vegan pizza and it was quite yummy. Service was very quick and everyone was very pleasant. Next time I think I'll order a vegan pizza with custom toppings. My friend loved her meatballs. Highly recommend.
The food was amazing. The service was outstanding. We had delicious Basil Gimlets, pizzas, and appetizers. The owners were attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!
Love this place. The pizza is phenomenal. And the service is lovely. Great salads too!
Oh and the soft serve gelato is to die for!
Interesting pizzas ever! Feels authentic even though I've never been to Italy myself :)
We always enjoy are meal and the service at the restaurant. We had limited time as we had theater tickets. The staff were very accommodating to serve us quickly to enjoy our meal before the play.
