Luciano's Ristorante & Lounge/Rahway, NJ Ratings and Reviews
Service was horrible. I had a friend in town for the holidays wanted to take them to a non chain restaurant. It was a late lunch all servers were on a break. The waiter seemed annoyed that we came to dine. My soup took forever, and once the food came she never came back to check on us. My friend had to go find the Manager to ask for the bill. I was so embarrassed and his perception of NJ residents was that everyone’s rude. I would not dine here again.
We went here during the week to celebrate Valentines Day and after an hour the waiter came over and said would you like to see a dessert menu-we looked at each other and said we haven't had dinner yet. So we were hesitant to come back but I am glad we did because the food is outstanding.
Luciano’s is a popular eating place for groups and is a lovely environment. However, the food and service can be inconsistent. Our waiter had to come back to the table twice to ask what we had ordered because he forgot. Seems it might be more efficient if it was just written down. All that and he still brought the wrong dish to one of our guests. My meal, the scallops was very good but my husbands seafood fra Diavlo was not at all spicy. We have eaten here several times, and sometimes are better and sometimes worse.
This was our second visit to Luciano's after having it on my list of places to eat for a long time. Why did I wait?!? Delicious meal, enjoyed by all 8 people in our party . Even though the restaurant was busy, on a holiday weekend, the staff did not hurry us along and allowed lots of time for visiting with friends. Lots of nice choices on the menu.
Always a good time a Luciano’s. We were in the front room which also had a large party celebrating a big anniversary. One waiter. He was great but think they could have used a second waiter because that poor guy was running all night long.
Definitely amazing food, as always. Will be back again.
Celebrated our anniversary on Saturday 10/07/17. Disappointed with meal. I said something to the waiter and he said thanks for letting him know. The pasta dinner with half lobster had no lobster meat in the claw and minimal in the tail. Nothing was done to correct issue. I will have to re-think going back.
everything great!! only negative was we mentioned it was our anniversary and our server never checked to see about complimentary desert. said we needed to bring copy of email stating it was an offer to us specifically for that occasion. a bit disappointing since she otherwise was very sweet.
I will never come back again. The place was not busy, a handleful of staff just walking around, yet we waited forever to place our order, get our drinks and the food. After all of the waiting, food was below mediocre. Won't be coming back. Giant disappointment
This was my first visit to Luciano's Restaurant. My date had been there before and highly recommended it. The restaurant was welcoming from the hostess,Suzanne to the very experienced waitress who served us. We were not rushed, but also not left sitting around waiting for the next course. I ordered the stuffed artichoke for an appetizer-it was awesome but difficult to eat politely on a date- took it home and devoured it!! The sea scallops were prepared perfectly -caramelized/seared and not over cooked! We were too full for dessert, but I 'm guessing they were great too. Even though it's a bit of a drive to get to Luciano's it was worth it ;)
W have been to Luicanos many times and always enjoy ourselves. The food is delicious and the service great, just enough timing between courses so that you are not rushed but not starving for your next course. Wait staff is very attentive and helpful. We will be back soon.
Very disappointing. The burratta was extremely runny to the point we couldn't eat it-I knew right then dinner was going to be mess. The food in general did not have a lot of flavor. The Seabass was lightly floured with no seasoning then randomly they serve the sauce on the side in a ramekin? The dining room was empty yet when they seated us, put us directly next to the only table there who were very loud. I thought that was strange and maybe a joke. No big deal. I was hungry. The issue here is the food. I can't get past the food. For the price I was paying and the abundance of Italian restaurants around it needed to be waaaay better. I will never be back. Even when I was trying to order my appetizer the waitress wouldn't let me finish and kept walking away. She didn't even ask my husband what he wanted. I had to say hey excuse me we aren't done ordering TWICE-she wasn't apologetic about it either. Very rushed for only 2 tables in the entire restaurant. The broccoli rabe is better from Tonys Pizza. The lamb lollipops were tasty but were pricy for only 3. Other spots have them for less, more on the plate taste the same or better. Nothing special about this place. I will stick with Casa Guiseppe for fine Italian dining next time.
Quickly turning into our favorite place for our Friday night date night. The live music is fantastic and the staff couldn't be friendlier. The wine list is great and the food is fantastic. The scallops and salmon are our favorites. A nice friendly crowd and we seem to run into someone we know each time we go. Highly recommend.
