fantastic food and ambiance. Everyone loved the restaurant and service
The atmosphere, the food, the variety of items on the menu. It was a perfect night. Food was out of the world. It is hard to find unique Italian restaurants in Southern California that are not chains. This was such a great find. I will definitely be going back. So happy to have tried this and found this place. Service also was great and abundant wine selection. Overall very happy with this choice to dine here.
Excellent food and service as usual. Love this restaurant and the convenience.
The food was very good and nicely priced. Our server was subpar. He was never around when you needed him and arrogant. The ambiance was great and perfect for a date night. I was disappointed that even after having reservations ahead of time and mentioning it was my boyfriend’s birthday that they didn’t do anything special for him - even just saying “happy birthday” would have been fine. The hostess was a young teen who was a lackluster of a host and did not even crack a smile when greeting. If the food wasn’t as good as it was, I wouldn’t be back due to the service.
Our waitress Ryan was the best. Attentive, engaging. Food excellent. A cut above
The food is absolutely phenomenal. Their special was chicken lasagna with arbiata sauce. Perfect spice/ best I’ve ever had. Service was okay. I’ve had better. Busy night but we brought 3 bottles of our own wine (party of 6) and the menu reads $25 corkage each and then 3 mor more $50. We read that as you aren’t charged more that $50. Oh now. After 2 bottles the corkage fee is $50 per bottle!!! WTF?? Luckily the nice manager did not charge us the fee for bottle 3 and we purchased another bottle from the restaurant. But seriously? That’s just wrong. Very loud inside, but looks like an Italian villa. Fireplace and Tuscan feel. Comfortable seating. Parking tough. Will be back but no more than 2 bottles of wine. First time for us all.
Service was uncharacteristically poor. Waiter blundered in, interrupting conversation, was not accommodating. Felt like a nuisance to the waiter. Could never seem to give the right order to the correct person. Food, however, was excellent. Very noisy dining room, so conversation was difficult. Won’t be returning anytime soon.
Great Italian food, wonderful atmosphere, attentive service.
It was my birthday and everything was perfect! Lovely place with delicious Italian food. A fireplace in the front room but we elected the quieter library room and everyone was happy with their food. Will definitely return soon.
The service seemed slow and distracted.
Brought relatives from East Coast for dinner. Each of us felt our meals were disappointingly mediocre.
We go to Luciana’s for a special meal occasionally. It is always a very happy experience. The Italian food is authentic with a modern twist. We especially like the Caprise salad which is made with very good mozzarela cheese and plenty of basil.
We absolutely love Luciana’s. It is been our favorite Dana point restaurant for years. The quality, value and ambience is just perfect. We have dined at Luciana’s over 100 times. That probably says it all.
Nice neighborhood Italian restaurant. Fairly broad menu with many interesting options, especially pastas. Ate with 7 people and all enjoyed their meals very much. Nice wine list. Very good service done at the right pace.
A lovely business dinner with a group of 15 that the staff handled smoothly and efficiently. Everything impeccable and professional staff, to include a confirmation call from the restaurant after booking earlier in the day on Open Table. THIS ALONE is so appreciated when hosting a large business group in Dana Point.
was looking forward to going to good italian meal. food was fair ...service was terrible.....not even bussers seemed very happy to be there. was with two other friends...all of us always in hospitality industry and not pleased at all....not even greeted in first few minutes by either which should have been our first clue.....unfortunate because menu nice(although food needed a bit more umph! and atmosphere super cute.
I didn't want to believe the poor reviews I read on Yelp on this restaurant. Went here before and it was great. But, this time it was awful and embarrassing to me as I had brought 4 friends with me who each came from over an hour away. The service was terrible. The soup took a very long time to come even though I asked about 4 times where it was. Then they brought an appetizer, which I very clearly said I wanted for dinner and it should come out that way, before the soup. The table behind us got their meals first and they came in after us. We had to get up and get the Parmesan cheese ourselves, since clearly no one was bringing it and now the food was on the table and getting cold. When the waiter did come over with it he was arrogant and definitely not friendly. He should have had the Parmesan cheese with him when he delivered the food. It's suppose to be a very fine Italian restaurant. We were very disappointed.
We had a wonderful time! The food was amazing and delicious. The ambiance was cozy and warm.
The only thing I did not like was that I had a reservation for 8:00pm and was not seated until almost 9pm. Although, the manager was nice and competed us an appetizer, it was still a long wait
Luciana's is a nice, neighborhood restaurant with a charming atmosphere, but service has always been hit or miss. The menu is extensive, and the food is good, but not exceptional. Service can be good, but again not exceptional, and there have been times when the service has been very slow and inattentive. The restaurant is a popular dining spot for locals, so it is often very crowded, and parking can be a challenge. On our last visit, although we had an Open Table reservation, we had to wait 40 minutes to be seated, and getting a couple of glasses of wine at the bar was a 15 minute ordeal. After expressing our concern at the long wait, we were finally seated. I wish I could say that the dining experience was worth the wait, but it really wasn't. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Salads were good, although the bread was stale. My wife's chicken parmigiana was quite good, and the serving generous, but he swordfish special was overcooked. Overall, Luciana's is a nice neighborhood restaurant with an Italian flair, but not as good as it used to be, and certainly not on par with better options in south Orange County such as Rothschilds, with offers similar atmosphere and cuisine.
I will definitely keep going to LUCIANA RESTAURANT
every possible time. I love Restaurant.
Great Italian food at reasonable prices in nice surroundings with good service. We keep coming back year after year.
Amazing!!! Very warm and inviting. Authentic Italian food nomnomnom. 10/10
I was never informed the Valentine day menu was fixed price at $75. Per person + beverage, tax and tip.
Always great food and romantic place for date night!!!
Very busy on a Tuesday night, but they got us seated right away. Wine list was very good. Had the Bruschetta, which normally does not have capers, so that was a little strange, but good nonetheless. Both the fish and the pasta that we ordered were excellent. Would highly recommend.
Good local restaurant. Good food and great service.
Best Italian in South Orange Coun
Made a reservation and waited 45 mins for a table. Others came in and were seated even though we had a reservation. Poor management and service but the food was good.
Very delicious food and service was great. Food came out piping hot.
We always have an exceptional experience at Luciana's. From the food to the service, everything is top quality and done with precision and care.
Donna playing the accordian on Saturdays is always a treat!
It has been too long since I last visited this restaurant and was looking for a romantic place with great pasta to visit. So glad I did and will be back much sooner than later.
Very good selection of Italian food. Good wine list with fair markups over retail. Most dishes are very fairly priced for quality and ambiance. First time but won’t be the last. As someone who grew up in an Italian restaurant in Chicago this ranks right up there, except for the Chicken Lasagna -first time I’ve seen that option. Look forward to going back and trying the lasagna and maybe some veal.
We love Luciana's and go there for our family celebrations. Great food and such a cute restaurant. - cozy Italian.
Been going to Lucian's for sometime now. Always happy with what we get. Try to take friends from out of town when they come.
Love this place - great food and atmosphere. Waiters are attentive, food is authentic and tasty, menu changes, and ambiance is friendly. We came with friends for anniversary and everyone enjoyed themselves.
The restaurant was very accommodating when I had to add one other person to our dinner party. That and the overall vibe of the restaurant was very much old world Italian. , Accommodating and attentive staff, food was very good though not the best Italian in the area.....all in all a very nice experience....except for the overly loud and obnoxious accordion music. Ruined the whole dinner. We were there for a birthday dinner with friends that we hadn’t seen in some time, so we wanted to talk and catch up. Wound up yelling across the table the music was so loud.
Would have been a high 4 rating if not for the music.
Excellent restaurant. Would highly recommend. Bartender is outstanding
Luciana’s is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. The food is always superb, the service impeccable, and the cost is very affordable. The decor is welcoming and charming. It’s been our “ go to” for years!
