Great food, great service, and love the vibe! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Been going to this restaurant for over 35 years - love it.
Everything lovely. Almost perfect. Hostess not friendly as usual. She gets the job done but does NOT interact well with customers. Everything else very good.
It’s old and musky inside. Dana Point is in need of new restaurants. Places that serve ‘fresh’ back yard veggies. Organic options. This restaurant can stay in business due to lack of competition.
Most of our local eateries are mediocre. I’m hoping with the city rejuvenation-highly skilled chefs will take a risk in this jewel of a town.
We were surprised to be served genuine Italian quality grade meals. Fresh ingredients, al dente pasta, light and tasty preparations just like in Firenze.
Great food and awesome service
Always a good experience! Our favorite restaurant in Dana Point!
I ordered the seafood with pasta dish. I felt the shrimp and calamari were undercooked by the gelatinous texture. The sauce was flat and tasteless. The pasta was fine, though. The portions were generous. The wine was good...a chardonnay. I was rather disappointed overall, as this restaurant was highly recommended by some friend, who are regulars.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We have been going here for more than 25 years. The food is great, the ambience is great but the noise level is high. I did not appreciate having to listen to some blow hard at the next table expounding his wisdom about the current political situation. Other than that, the food is very well prepared and the prices are more than reasonable.
Lovely restaurant, service and food was excellent. Been many years since I was last there and will never leave it as long again.
Best salmon I have ever eaten. It was a generous portion and the sauce was delicious. The rest of our party raved about their food also. Thanks chef!
we all enjoy our dinners @ Luciana's, great place to celebrate or be with friends. Ambiance, food are divine!
Veal Scallopine followed by a wonderful Creme Brûlée! My friend said her Tiramisu was the best she’d had. Highly recommended.
Awesome times with my babe Alexandra!...perfecto
Luciana’s was recommended to us by the Blue Lantern Inn where we were staying. When we first arrived, we were told by a very harried hostess, that it would be at least 30 minutes before she could seat us. We made our 7:30pm reservations some time ago. We live in Houston, TX and were attending a wedding in Yucaipa and came over to the coast for a few days. The hostess was not helpful at all. We were eventually seated in the outdoor screened in patio and the atmosphere there was terrible. They had moved all the tables to one area for a large party so we were at a table for two by the fireplace and there was nothing but empty space around us - terrible atmosphere. However, there was another hostess, her name was Chris, who was very helpful and made every effort to get us a nice table. It was my husband’s birthday. We moved and were finally were seated at 8:30pm (for a7:30pm reservation - not happy at all about that). But the waitstaff was very friendly and professional and our food was excellent so in the end, we did enjoy our experience there.
This place is wonderful and the food is amazing. The way the front desk hostess handles a crowd is not so good. She was very frazzled and we had a 7:15 reservations through Open Table. She said we don’t take reservations at 7:15, really? we were seated 30 Minutes after our reservation. When we got our table everything was perfect. Great service by Oscar, great good and fun night.
The Best! Loved the specials, the cocktails, and the service!
We've dined at Lucianna's many times over the past couple of decades, and have generally found the food very good at times, but only average other times. Likewise, service can be excellent, or inattentive, depending on how busy they are. The ambiance is lovely, and as long as you stick with the pasta dishes, you can't go wrong. Specials are more of a hit and miss. On this last visit, I had the salmon special, which was a bit disappointing. The side of vegetables was very good, but the entree was overcooked and dry. Caesar salad was small and likewise disappointing. Lucianna's is a nice restaurant, cozy and romantic, but the food is not on par with other similarly priced restaurants in south orange county.
Our appetizer was great. We had eggplant. The rest was very mediocre for the price. My gluten free pasta also had fettuccine mixed in(accidentally).
Best kept secret in Dan Point. Owner George Luhon is class guy. He knows quality.
My wife and I enjoyed an Aniversary dinner... no our first time at Luciana’s..... food was great, service and ambiance not so great. Very noisy and the hostess was not at her station and waitress was too busy to give us the level of service we hoped for.
Overall, our experience at Luciana's was positive and enjoyable. Our pasta dish was well-prepared, flavorful and had a nice presentation. One issue, however was the portion size. For an Italian restaurant, the portion was small. I did not want to walk out with a Styrofoam box, but pasta is an inexpensive food commodity !
Father’s Day. Wonderful setting
We had a reservation but had to wait for 45 minutes and were one of the last couples to leave. We were also charged $7 for a small side if pasta to go with the most expensive special on the menu, was that really necessary? 😐
this is not my first time there,we are very glad to have the opportunity to get back.Food was great ,the guy who serve us very well prepared to advise us,Dennis)...will be back again...John
Everything was very good! Large group on patio, had to wait awhile to get our food. Thankfully we were dining....
We have been dining at Luciana's for 15 years and have always have wonderful meal. The staff is wonderful and attentive.
Some of the most authentic Italian food in SoCal! Service was very good and ambience is nice. Easy parking on street. The only issue was we had a reservation and had to wait 30 minutes. They are very busy on weekends so best time is during the week
Thankfully, it was a little quieter than my last visit. I had requested that they seat us in a particular location when they called to confirm the reservation the day before and was very happy to see that they honored the unusual request. The food was outstanding as usual and is the reason I have made this restaurant a place a visit regularly. The food is always excellent and the portions definitely on the generous side. The service started out a little slow when we first sat down, but then got back to the usual attentive, but not intrusive service I have come to expect. All in all another very enjoyable visit to what has become one of my favorite restaurants.
Amazing! Food was fresh and quality was Top Drawer.
Accordion was a very nice touch.
Great food. Excellent staff. Very noisy so not suited for a romantic date but great for a nice dinner with friends or loved ones.
Is very delicious, and make sure to make reservations, because it gets booked and hard to just walk in and get seats.
Excellent all the way around
My daughters birthday celebration was extraordinary and memorable. Loved the food, service, and care shown to us. My daughters very favorite restaurant time and time again.
Delicious Italian food set in an intimate setting. Locals and tourists combined eat here and for good reason. Reasonable prices and great traditional italian.
I went with a business colleague to enjoy some out of office time. We had a great time, it was crowded but not too much to prevent us from enjoying our evening. Food was good, waiter was helpful and not too intrusive. We would come back!
The spaghetti sauce was lack luster and flavorless. We did mention it to our server. We immediately were comped with a gratis dessert.
Always enjoy the food and ambiance. Wonderful for any occasion.
Lovely service and very friendly staff Our server was very accommodating for our large group
