LUCE Ristorante - East Norwich Ratings and Reviews
The service and friendliness of the staff made this restaurant standout for me. We were a group of eight friends and they accommodated us at a large round table in a quiet area of the restaurant, the perfect spot for us to socialize. He food was very good and most seem to enjoy the dishes they ordered. We all agreed to return.
Whether it's to celebrate Mother's Day, birthdays or just "family dinner," Luce is our family's go-to for Italian around Oyster Bay. My husband and I also find eating at the bar convenient too...the menu is varied (homemade pastas!) and everything we've tried is delicious. Always reliably great service and martinis! A+
We are locals. We like having some place that's 5 minutes down the road where we can get good svc and good food. Wait staff is excellent. My only gripe is when I call to book or use open table they give me a 6:30 reservation. Clearly I could have easily arrived at 7:30. There were tables open.
cute cozy little restaurant, but there is no valet parking and it's hard to find parking in the small lot. The front desk doubles as the coat check. If you're not with a big party, you'll be at a tiny table. Nice night out, we weren't rushed at all, but I wasn't impressed at all either. $$$ for something that should be $1/2...
Be transformed to the cuisine and warmth of Northern Italy. This family owned restaurant welcomes you as soon as you arrive. The table is set beautifully including olives, chunks of Parmesan and fresh breads to taste while choosing your favorite wines.
Dinner can be romantic for two or fun for large for groups too. Luce is a North Shore gem on Long Island.
First time at LUCE and it was very nice. Service was very good. Baked clams, grilled calamari and the Ne Zealand mussels were great starters. I had the crabmeat grouper for my main and it was superb. Nice win list also! A bit on the pricer side but worth it!
Generous pour on cocktails wine with ample table taste bites & warmed panne, so you don't necessarily have to go with an appetizer (us seniors are not interested in chowing down or are we always interested in taking uneaten courses home). Soups are outstanding and main course really special and generous. Dolce fantastic. Dispite this being New Years Eve and an early dinner service was paced so no one was rushed and staff was very amiable. Never been disappointed after serveral visits.
This was previously the home of Restaurante Giarosole.
Luce was yummy~ My app was amazing, Burrata was a perfect temp, (too cold & the ricotta cheese inside firm, too warm and it becomes runny), ripe beefsteak tomatoes & the Prosciutto, imported "Di Parma". My entrée I had the Bronzino, which was deboned tableside perfectly, we also had the Papardelle Bolognese which was not a traditional Pappardelle pasta (flat, thin, wide ribbon, but a lasagna type pasta) still delish and would definitely order it again. The service was very professional, courteous & attentive...
My only disappointment would be the interior does not live up to its culinary rank...it needs a more sophisticated and updated décor, but it's definitely not a factor when looking for a great dining experience!
LUCE in East Norwich was a gift given to me for my birthday. My wife and I went and had a delicious meal, excellent wine and Dominick (owner) and our waiter (name?) were both excellent. Gracious welcoming us and excellent in making dinner recommendations. Would recommend LUCE to anyone and we will certainly come back.
Luce Ristorante is the restaurant I look forward to when visiting Long Island on our annual NY trip. The food is DELICIOUS, the staff are friendly, funny and welcoming and the restaurant itself is very pretty whether you're eating inside or out. This combination makes Luce my favourite restaurant by far! It has a brilliant atmosphere and is a perfect spot for families, groups or couples. We've only just got back to England and I'm already looking forward to going back next year and ordering my personal fave; Luce's Chicken Parmegian!! Keep up the great work guys.
The owner is there every night to make sure everything is going smooth and it is!!! There is nothing but top notch food here and we love this place!!!! Very romantic and great wine list! Also, when they pour you a glass of wine, it's a FULL glass of wine!!!! Most places only pour you a half glass, not here they know how to take care of their customers, hands down!!!
If you favor upscale, Northern Italian cuisine, this is the place to be. What's so good? The food, the wine, the service, the atmosphere. The desserts, alone, are magnificent! An extensive menu of mouth-watering creations is served by a professional, courteous, knowledgeable staff....NOT college-kid-of-the-week. From the complimentary olives and Reggiano Parmesan all the way to the wide selection of Grappa or Port for "afters", you're in for a culinary treat at this fine establishment. The generous hospitality of owners Dom & Linda further leave you with the impression that Luce has earned it's "upscale" status. Upscale, yes, but for the diner: money well spent.
